I go for the Screwy Twoey. Monday - Saturday. This is a great place if you need some help. I owe my life to them.

They are good people trying to help the less fortunate
Ok
So first off most of the staff here is pretty awesome! But like anyplace, you have your buzzards! You have clients who have medical issues, substance abuse problems, mental health issues, etc. There all kinds like liars, thieves, addicts, etc. This is the elements of the ever increasing homeless population! And I live amongst them! It is so disheartening and denigrating to half to see some things happen. Because it feels like it will reflect on me!
They allow us to have our AA meeting there and what they do over there for the homeless I think is marvelous a few bad apples but for the most part the staff is awesome
This is a wonderful shelter if you're in need and really want to get your life back together. The food is good. They serve an early breakfast and a balanced dinner. They do need to search you and your belongings so don't bring drugs or weapons. That's due to one of their employees getting fatally stabbed so please don't give them a hard time about it. Most importantly they help you with housing, maybe you need a DMH worker, therapy, they have all kinds of resources to help you get out of your situation and not go back. They are overworked, you will need to have patience with them but not nearly as much as they have for all thier clients. This place is truly a haven and a lifesaver. Don't be afraid.
I did not have a bad experience when I stayed here. Most of the staff/volunteers were very friendly and helpful. I took a star away for the staff members who treated the people like it was their fault their life sucked. Also, for the staff who are supposed to help with becoming independent. They ignore you as much as possible. All in all it was a good shelter. Very reasonable, drug and alcohol free shelter. Abide by the rules and do your part and things will go smoothly. Good luck and God bless on your journey.
Well to be honest the place wasn't bad and the staff aren't that bad either its the people in charge like the directors and supervisors and clinical team you have to watch out for. For example I once found a bedbug there and took a few pictures of it and i showed the director and told her that I was going to city hall with the pic to get funding for the program and I thought she'd be happy but no she was outraged and told me not to show anyone if I liked the program and wanted to keep my place there it be smart of me to keep it to myself.
The only issue I have with this place are the bedbugs n Lisa.
I m only writing this because I ve seen people saying how it s nice and drug free I needed to explain that there is a dry shelter part of the year and the during the colder months there is another section open to anybody and it gets full, really full. All types of people there from mental disorders, chronic homeless and also people like myself just trying to overcome a bad situation I put myself in. Saying that, people come in all kinds of messed up and for some people it can be triggering. Just so you know, now you know.
