The Sherman Theater Review

The staff is rarely prepared for the turnout, but I'd absolutely blame that on upper management. High profile acts for what is ultimately kind of a low-key venue compared to other stops on said acts' tours.

Great place for a show. Larger than other reviews made it seem.
Clean, great sound system and not just standing room only, there are standing room only seats... Awesome night seeing Theory of a Dead man...

I'm really disappointed in this venue. Saw an awesome VIP showing here but it was disorganized. People that didn't pay for the pre-show area made it in before us making us have to stand in the back. We did not receive the lanyard mentioned on the website, neither organizers nor box office had any info. That was forgivable.

When you go to a show with multiple bands you want to see, it's smart to buy merch ASAP so they have your sizes/selection available. Not only that but bands sell fragile items like records, etc. Then you stash it in your car or check them with your coat. What bothered me most was there was NO RE-ENTRY allowed and the coat check was CLOSED. I questioned staff and security about it and they said "Well it's a nice day". It was in the 40s... they expected us to sweat in the crowd the entire show and not buy merch and could care less. ("You could throw your jacket in a corner"... --Good for nothing security.)

I purposely checked that there would be a coat check to avoid this issue. Thank the universe for Kristelle, merch for Hail The Sun. She was kind enough to stash our bundle of merch and jackets behind her counter til the show was over.

All this place cares about are their expensive ass booze sales. If they can give out wristbands for people over 21, they can do the same thing for customer re-entry. Put yourself in our shoes... Nobody wants to go to a show where they have to wear all their merch + a jacket. I saw people in the crowd carrying vinyl records... Poor fans.

TLDR- GREAT show, regretable customer experience for a regular concertgoer

Great place to see a show! The Band is close up and personal, the acoustics are excellent! It wouldn't hurt to get back to playing smaller venues like they used to!

I enjoyed The Contact Collective at winter fest. They blew me away with an unexpected sound it was amazing!!

The single-best venue in the Stroudsburg area to see live music.

Nice place for a show. Even though it's small, great show. Just saw Dropkick Murphy and it was amazing.
Just one bad thing, they need a way to empty the venue faster with more exits

It's OK, seems a little run down. Cheesy balconies kind of seem odd, and all canted flooring would be a nightmare for standing room shows.

Just saw Neck Deep here a few days ago. The sound was great and Staff were extremely friendly. My problem is that the doors opened at 7:00 and the show was set to start at 7:30, however I did not get inside due to the line until almost 8:00 only to find I had missed the first band! I was lucky to even make it inside before Neck Deep played because they were almost done setting up by the time I got inside. Once I was inside I was extremely disappointed to find the theater still had all the seats all the way to the front in place!? There was no assigned seats but a General Admission ticket means that there will be room enough for people to stand in the front and be close. Not at all the case with this place.

You can get some pretty big acts there sometimes. Really cool venue, plus they do non- music events that are actually cool

Nice place to see a concert! Friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price! I'd definitely recommend seeing a concert their! Oh yea and the beer was cheaper than most places! They also sold wine which was really tasty!!

Always a great time, plan to keep my membership for a long time.

Sound is not bad, but the standing was quite tireing! Lots of alcohol being served.

Great venue small but intimate parking can be challenging but totally worth visiting ive seen about 1/2 a dozen shows here, the crowd is always polite and mellow.

Amazing venue, very classic feel. Although it's mostly a musical venue, it was amazing to see a movie there too. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommended theatre.

No bad seat in the house..Great old fashioned theater with an up to date feel.. Staff and security are top notch.

First time seeing a musical band there and was easy to get to definitely will be back to this theater to see a show or a concert

This used to be an active music festival location...glad to see it's getting back up and running with music in the summer!

Had an AWESOME time there, drinks were reasonable, went on a Sunday so parking was readily available. Would definitely come back!

Cool little small town music venue. Sound was decent, beers were ice cold, and we had a great overall experience!

This is truly a unique place. It is a great smaller venue and the people there are the best. They are very helpful and go out of their way to make things work perfectly. I will not think twice about making the 2 hour drive in order to see a show there.

Great venue. Big enough to attract headliners but small and intimate enough to get the full experience. It's a gem in the poconos. Can't wait to see STP!!!

I've been to the Sherman Theater once for a concert. It was an awesome venue. Great place and awesome bar. Would absolutely drive out there again for more shows.

Great sound and acoustics. You can hear every instrument a d the vocals really well. Occasionally they have really great old school bands.

I've had wonderful experiences at sherman. They have recently undergone a few renovations of bathrooms, and are in the process of renovating all the bathrooms, lobby, and the actual venue where you watch the concerts. Their art gallery next door displays different local artists work and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside is there is no designated sherman parking, so you have to park on main street, which there is usually enough parking for all. After the concerts I usually walk to local bars and restaurants. Its always a fun time.

Got there 30 minutes before doors opened and were the first one's into the theater...and thanks to everything being GA, we were first row...obly downside was the fact that if u didn't dress like u going to antartica, u would've been a block of ice, because it was freezing in there....
