We saw Blue October here and the setting was amazing. Getting through the door was quick and efficient. Parking is bit of an issue but it you're willing to walk a few streets you're fine. They have a bar in the venue but it's hella expensive. It's definitely a large enough space for a concert and the atmosphere is great. Would recommend this place for any rock concert!
Great old theater. Plenty of local parking. Not a bad seat in the house.
Awesome place for a concert, I ve seen so many shoes here and will continue to see more. The sound quality is one of the best definitely 5 Stars for me.
Sound was horrible, prices too high, and absolutely no parking. You don't want to be a smoker and be there on a rainy night cuz their smoking area is outside in between the buildings and has no coverage from the weather.
Seen QUEENSRYCHE ON THUR& LOV THE SHERMAN THEATER " BUT OUTSIDE BEFORE SHOW NOTICED OUTSIDE THE THEATER " GETTO GARBAGE, HOW THE HELL IS MAIN ST IN STROUDSBURG PA GETTO ? ARE THEY DONE DESTROYING NYC LIKE THE BRONX OR EAST NY & NOW HIDING IN STROUDSBURG WOWWW
FANTASTIC... This is a must see, attend a show but take in the beautiful renovation
This place was freaking awesome. Perfect venue for bands, and the concert is one I will remember
Too loud, too much bass, monotonous beats, generally not very interesting or good quality. The crowd seemed to enjoy it.
Had a blast attending an event with Dj Pauly D here. The event ran very smoothly & it was just a really good time. The staff were friendly & professional. I would definitely attend future events here.
Went to see Fitz and the Tantrums here. It was a great venue and the staff were great. The concessions were well priced too which is always a plus! My one issue was that the concessions stand only took cash and the atm on site charged a pretty high fee (it was $3.00 I believe). They also sold alcoholic drinks but I m not sure if those were cash only or not
Great place to see a show. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, it's hard to find a bad place in the room, the slanted floors give short people a little extra help.
Great place, awesome smaller venue shows, highly recommend, took my son for his first concert sevendust there it was awesome!!
Railroad Earth was excellent! The Sherman is a wonderful Theater to see this great band at! We had a wonderful time in Stroudsburg!
Saw Killswitch Engage and Anthrax, cool venue to see a show. Floors can be a little slick in the pits, not a bad spot in the house. Great sound and cool staff.
Fun shows held here frequently, staff is firm but kind.
Amazing venue. Loved the show. Spacious and sounded incredible. Will to return even though it's a 3 hour drive from philly.
If you don't go to the Sherman, you might as well stay home forever... One time and you will be addicted!
Great place for a wine event! They had one today and it was super fun!
I love this venue. Good restaurants.plenty of parking .
Unusual seating/standing arrangement. A nice place overall. Bathrooms clean and maintained. Staff helpful, courteous and friendly.
I think it's too small and it draws really unsavory crowd of people
Pretty neat little place, they need more jambands. Twiddle and the wingmen is a great start...
Saw BLS and COC and the show was awesome. I have MS and the staff was great at acomafat8ng for my walker. Great experience.
The band Rock the place... But the venue was a little small
Awesome place, we saw I Prevail there. It was amazing
Cool place. Government Mule was great. Theater was greedy and sold way too many tickets. I am working with ticketmaster to get a refund.
Awesome venue for concerts. Anywhere you stand is gonna be a good view. Service is quick and friendly. Security does an awesome job and get you inside and through the line quickly. Cheap prices for big time artists.
I give you a FAT 0 , Overbooked, HOT, no way in and out of the audience not one aisle open in case of emergency. Someone passed out, don't waste your time in this small venue who doesn't know how to count how many people are in the venue. You could not get to the bathroom or get a bottle of water it was that crowded! PS GOVT MULE WAS GREAT. Poor management at the theater was the problem!!
Cool little venue! Would definitely see a show there again.
Closed for a snow day and no recorded message saying so
I love this theater. Just found out a bunch of history behind it and makes me enjoy it that much more! Small venues are the way to go!
Concert I attended here was great in itself because I love the band that played. But as far as the venue, I really dislike how it was on a slope in the pit. I didn't want to risk participating in any fun moshing because of the angle and since I am not from there and flew in for the concert, I didn't want to risk getting hurt so far from home. The amenities were also very sparse. Nothing like other venues I've been to. Food and drink selections were bad. Beer tasted rancid, didn't even finish it.
A flattened out floor would be better for the venue. I understand that it's a theater so it would need the angle for theater performances but they really shouldn't be accepting / hosting music concerts like that.
Love the Sherman! Traveled from reading for the first time this past spring for a Blue October show and loved the venue so much we went back last week for Dirty Heads. The staff is wonderful and well organized. We love the sloped floor, gives us vertically challenged people a great view from any spot. Also great bar options and not overpriced like bigger venues. We have parked on the street nearby on both occasions, parking is metered but only until 630. We arrived a couple hours early and enjoyed the wonderful town of stroudsburg for a bit before the show. Lots of great dining and bar options in walking distance. I'll take my shows here over philly's crowds and overpriced everything anyday.
I was there twice for wrestling and for beer fest I like wrestling better Beerfest was okay but not for the price I paid other concerts and everything are really good
A small venue that magically and routinely gets world class bands
Great staff great layout great acoustics and great view of the stage from essentially all viewing areas. If an act you like is playing Sherman then buy the ticket because you're in for a good experience at this venue.
Excellent place to be when you're with your girlfriend.
It's a venue to see things in bumble****. That's all lol
Oh yeah yeah bring a bodyguard or two Stroudsburg is no longer a very good neighborhood. Heroin drugs well they won't Punky cars everywhere
Awesome venue in the area. A good variety of acts come through and it always seem like a good crowd shows up for every show. I saw Circa Survive and Foxing (I was more here for Foxing who usually play Brooklyn and Philly but were in Stroudsburg at the Sherman?? Wow!) and it was incredible. Ticket prices are fair and it's pretty spacious with accessible seating and standing for all.
This venue is a great place to see a concert. It's size allows for a large crowd but still gives everyone a great view of the stage.
Really cool venue to see your favorite bands...really not a bad seat in the house. Ticket prices are reasonable...I saw Clutch and Hellyeah here. Great venue.
We come here often and have always had a great experience. Just seen Eaglemania on May 12th they were excellent, had front row seats.
Saw The Drop Kick Murphys : I enjoyed the theater, and thought the sound quality was fine. All in all, a great night, and venue.
Venue is nice and sound is good, but the fact that the floors are sloped makes this place hard to enjoy for a long show.
Nice place but the bar is outside of the concert room and the lines are very long
This place is great. Tickets aren't expensive. Venue is small but large enough to pack a crowd. Can see some big names as well as some up and coming acts.
Beware the PARKING - over 30 cars towed - at ONE EVENT !!!
The venue doesn't warn you, so tread carefully - your car WILL BE TOWED.
Enjoyed the show. The drinks are very expensive and I think it was all cheep liquor. Had aheadache the next day and that was very unusual for me.
Great music venue, easy streetside parking, friendly staff
This is a great venue! Old theater, GA downstairs, standing mostly, and GA seats upstairs. Bars on both floors, smoking in the alley out back. Like a dozen fine pubs and restaurants in easy walking distance (all less than a few blocks) and plenty of parking scattered around. If you're in the white tablecloth set, maybe not your kind of place, but if you just want to rock out and feel totally comfortable doing it, the Sherman is your place!
Craft show was nice but way to many of the same crafts too much jewelry. Was 1 hour from home & would not go again because of all the jewelry.
I'm reading all these things and i find it all wrong. The appeal was like an old theater. I like older looking stuff so that's why the appeal is excellent. I didn't used the facilities so i couldn't do that so i put very good. The service was amazing they opened the doors and we were in within about 48 seconds. I really enjoyed my experience there and i'm going again tomorrow and Wednesday. See you there hopefully.
Really interesting space for a show, with seating in the back half of the floor, or do, a balcony, and then an open floor in the front half. Multiple concession points. Clean, well maintained bathrooms.
It's a great venue.
Though parking was confusing for us--we ended up in a random surface lot about 2 blocks away.
Great retro theater however disappointed that they didn't have speakers in the front sides so hard to really hear. Concession stand has good variety for non drinkers but tap water from the beer tap nozzel instead of bottled would be nicer.
I've been here over 5 times and never any complaints. The security to get in is good. They also walk through the crowds the entire time. Nice to feel safe when you watch bands play. Staff has always been very nice and helpful
