We have been referring our clients to The Sheriffs Office for a number of years and have found the staff and agents extremely helpful and professional. I have just read three negative reviews and although I am not privy to the full background of each story, I thought that I would lend some moral support to the guys at The Sheriffs Office.
If you ever have the need to instruct High Court Enforcement Officers, please, please do not think that what you see on the television is what actually happens all of the time. In my opinion, some of these so-called "observational documentaries" are merely put together for entertainment value.
Firstly, they are often shown at "prime time" for the maximum audience and advertising revenue. Secondly, the producers will always show you the most salacious and gripping parts which is often the parts where the Sheriff's get their "man".
Please bear in mind that the producers of these types of programs often have reels and reels of boring and unusable footage that will never see the light of day. Often weeks and weeks, if not months of filming is condensed into a one-hour documentary. Eventually, often, three out of the four interesting cases aired will end in success and it is these scenes that get creditor's all fired up.
No two debts are the same, so please, don't be fooled by what you see on the television. Again, in my opinion, some of the tactics shown by HCEO are questionable, to say the least [I need to be careful what I write]. If you search Google, there are plenty of legal cases that will support what I am trying to say here.
It's probably worth remembering, if a person genuinely has no means to repay a debt; no job, no money, no assets [you can't get blood out of a stone], then my advice is don't blame HCEO, blame the system/law that allows people get to away with it in the first place.
Make no mistake, my firm makes a living out of collecting bad debt and we go to the ends of the earth to get a debtor to pay...but sometimes if all else fails we just have to be realistic and wait for another day. And in the majority of cases, take my word for it, more often than not you do often get a second bite of the cherry. Remember, with good reason, a county court judgment can be enforced at any time, past 6 years...just lay low and be patient.
