Visit to celebrate mom's 80th birthday - varied menu, friendly atmosphere, good service

Absolutely beautiful food. Very polite staff. It has a good outside area for fine weather.

Spur of the moment meal out.. delicious and well presented.. excellent Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc .. staff excellent too!..

FOOD was great no complaints
BEER was great no complaints
The young girl was very nice helpful and polite
As was the young man... The thing that spoilt it was the older lader served others before me when she new i was waiting rolling her eyes at watching every move i made she did not make me feel wecome at all witch is a pity as the rest of the pub/restaurant was great shame really as i would have enjoyed it more..
But 5***** it will be as the other two made up for the ladies loss

Nice cosy pub with excellent menu - prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly. Recommended.

venue was nice. drinks good but pricey. room for venue was good but not impressed with food that had been put on for the event, seemed little care taken and had to wait for more food to replenish for everyone to eat. nice garden for kids. a nice day had but not fantastic as expected. Manager was not great either on the day.

Had a lovely meal and the beer garden is beautiful, I love the fun additions

Good food, poor service. Ended up going to the bar to pay the bill after waiting for 30 minutes for a card machine.

We didn't stay at The Salwey Arms but called in for breakfast on the first morning of our holiday. We were so impressed that we returned three more times, the food was excellent as were the friendly and helpful staff .

Great service. The staff make you feel welcome. Good price and really tasty food.

Went to a wedding reception there a couple of weeks ago. Excellent venue, helpful staff and a big car park.

My wife and I visited the Salwey Arm on Sunday 17th June and to say that I was disappointed with the whole experience would be an understatement. The young man who appeared to be in charge was a pompous individual who lacked the ability to engage with his clientele. I will however acknowledge that others in the team where engaging.
The food was third rate and no what we had experienced on previous visits, I make allowances for the fact it was farthers day but I still expect to have a level of service that is acceptable.

When I challenged the young waitress about our experience she was very apologetic and offered complimentary coffee but alas this was to late and we left. Having travelled and stayed in inns and hostelries all around the world I still find it s the Uk that tends to be least inviting.

We were only in Ludlow for two nights staying at the Feathers 16th century hotel in the middle of town. The first night we ate in the hotel and it was very good. By way of a change we thought we would try somewhere else. The first mistake was not booking in advance for a Friday night! Everywhere was full! We drove around a bit and eventually found this lovely restaurant pub about 10 minutes out of town. It is a big roadside pub with a look of Georgian grandeur to the outside but quite a modern and a little quirky interior. Light and comfortable with a good menu and excellent food. Friendly efficient staff. Good selection of beers and wines. Ideal for couples and but also good for groups and families with some nice big tables.

Visited tonight after a long drive, checked into the local Travellodge and headed for a drink or two, after enjoying the first drink my wife headed to the bar at 22:20 to refresh us to be told they were not serving anymore and closing .... no last orders called and as previous public house propeietors this is very bad practice. Had we known the free house was closing so early we would have ventured into Ludlow. Very disapointed as we would have stayed for another couple of drinks at least

Very good food, nicely decorated. Plenty of parking.

I booked a table for my Mums 70th Birthday. Being Vegan I checked the menu beforehand and found something I could eat, only to find when we arrived that the weekend menu was limited so my choice was not available. However, the lady serving was so kind, asked me which meal I had chosen from the Spring menu and they made it for me. It was the Chickpee roulade and was btw delicious!!!! Fantastic meal and a lovely place, friendly staff and great play area for children. They were even very gracious towards my elderly Dad who is I'm afraid a moaner! Thank you for a lovely meal. :-)

Had a wonderful meal with friends on Saturday, staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The food was top class.

The snug is a great place for a casaul drink only down side is there is no pool table

I had an evening meal which was tasty and the prices were good value, however the service was rather slow. The decor was pleasant.

Light Lunch, very nice female waitress,less enthusiastic colleague who lacked customer service skills and seemed like a one trick Pony.
