Really nice food, great service and a cracking pint of Gold (I think it was from the local Ludlow brewery). I had the seabass off the Sunday menu with dauphinois potatoes, very nice! The seabass was on point. lovely place with alot of space both inside and out!!

Visited this place on Sunday evening. It was not very busy and the service was fairly quick. The sad part was the food on that day was not as good as we expected. We ordered beef and pork roasts served with gravy and vegetables. The gravy was way too salty. The waitress tried to get us an alternative. In the end, we had a new order without gravy as there wasn't any option for it to be less salty.

Lovely menu with the exception of excessive amount of sourdough starters (not sure why). Any way all had Garlic Prawns, lovely. Good selection of main course dishes battered fish and gammon excellent. Nice selection of desserts, but Baileys Cheesecake was..... ummmm? Very little Baileys and a strange base, lovely ice cream though. Service as usual excellent.

Absolutely dreadful service, rude owner, the food boil in the bag rubbish!
Such a shame it used to be so much better!

Lovely venue, friendly staff, great food and plenty of space for a couple of hundred people. Shame that the selection of drinks for the function bar is much more limited than the main bar, but otherwise no complaints

I have been before and had a great time but was very disappointed with the lunch today. I had a ham hock terrine for starter which was nice but the roast beef I had for main was not good at all. The plate was hot when it came out but the food on it was barely warm. Of our party of five, three of us had roast dinners but had only one bowl of veg to share between us with about 3 pieces of carrot, a couple of bits of cauliflower and broccoli and a shed load of beans. We also had a bowl of cauliflower cheese which was the highlight. The other two in the party had the 'homemade' cheeseburger which seemed more likely to be a frozen bought in burger, the medium burger came more like well done. We were then asked by three members of staff if we wanted a desert menu despite refusing each time.

Went as a couple.
Food was both bland and cold. Very interesting flavours presented beautifully.
Ambiance was Ok with large impressive chandlers and hard wood flooring.
However chairs as much as they matched the room were rather uncomfortable and I left with awful back ache.
Everything was on the menu seemed reasonably priced including drinks for which the had a wide selection to choose from including house wines.
Staff in general were polite but we're in no way seemed enthusiastic.
Overall not the best of evenings in the Salway arms. But will return to give them another shot in the future.

Went to meet family who had stayed there for breakfast. Anything we asked for seemed to be done with a lot of trouble and food arrived very slowly. Staff seemed very friendly but not terribly competent. Breakfast was ok at best.

We called in for an evening meal whilst on holiday in the area. The meal was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed it in pleasant and quiet surroundings until however, we were unfortunately invaded by a very noisy group of which presumably were locals. As we had almost finished our meal we decided that it was time to leave I did mention the reason that we were leaving to a member of Staff and whilst we received an apology, it was not their fault and I did make it clear that we had very much enjoyed the food it was the first day of our holiday but that we shall not be returning as a result

Located beside hotel and Starbucks in wooferton, good access from the road. Not much else around. I went for dinner and the food was delicious, big portions and the staff were lovely. Only thing that could have been better was that it was a bit chilly.

here last Sunday evening to meet up with friends who were having a meal, decided to eat with them although they had already got their food, which was fine! Food was lovely. Paid tab but then decided to have another drink, to be told they had stopped serving drinks and were about to close. This was 9. O'clock. I understand there was no one else in, but we had eaten and had several rounds of drinks. The barmaid was very polite, We left and went to The Temeside where we had another 2 rounds of drinks with no pressure to leave. We won't be rushing back any time soon.

Stayed at the Salwey Arms for just one night (Saturday) to celebrate my partner's birthday. A very warm lunchtime welcome from the staff was followed by a pleasant afternoon in Ludlow (which is just a relatively short 10 minute car drive away), before we returned to the 'pub with rooms' to enjoy a tasty, well-presented, no-nonsense evening meal (although it's worth reserving a table as the newly-renovated establishment is seemingly very popular with the locals, etc.).
Finally, although the bedroom was a touch on the small side (the room called 'Onny'), the overall decor and presentation of the establishment has been well thought-through and can only be described as 'very tasteful'. Would stay again. Would recommend.

Mixed experience. Very good starter but slow service. Staff are friendly and didn't seem overly busy. Sunday roast beef took 40 mins to arrive and second drink arrived after the meal was finished. Meal barely average...warm, barely cooked broccoli and very crisp veg. Disappointing.

The mains weren't big enough portions we had the duck breast and the salmon filet. The duck was like having a starter. The deserts were ok on the other hand. I'm going to stick to other local pubs that I know well.

Went for a Sunday dinner - "it's alright, nothing particularly special."

Food was warm ( needed to have been hotter ). Bread was chilled (straight out of fridge?).

Couldn't tell what the starter soup was.

Mains - fish and chips looked good. Sunday roast beef was lacking (potatoes were barely warm, needed another vegetable. Meat tough)

Dessert portions could have been a bit larger.
Service was good and efficient.

Poor baby changing facilities.

Overpriced small portions, bland pasta dish, burnt soggy lasagna, no bread no salad no water nothing. Servers never came back and asked how dinner was or if we needed anything not even a desert menu. How any can anyone invest this much money in a pub hotel and be okay with providing this level of service is beyond me, Chef needs to be sacked. Extra star for the descent beer. Had to stop at a chippy on the way home just to get full.

Very friendly staff and very affordable food. The proprietors made a real effort and offered some good suggestions for good walks in the Shropshire hills.
A real nice change of pace from the London grind!

Anyone worried about the distancing, sanitize rules and regulations then i am happy to say that the Salwey Arms exceeded all area's.
