It is clean and had attentive staff. Because of its location, you can walk to several good restaurants, library, museum, parks, etc. The only downside is the lack of free parking. You have the option to use the valet parking. But considering that it is located in the city, this is understandable.
Beautiful hotel. Great rates and clean and upscale.
It's a historic, beautiful hotel. Service is second to none.
Iconic hotel did a musical here with the orthodox church it was fantastic
The "M" Street Cafe was good. Nice scenery. Buffet not to bad.
Beautiful location, was here for a wedding and we couldn't be more amazed by the beauty of this building
Lovely historic hotel. I had a very nice view over winter festival! Gym facilities are excellent, WiFi is fast, and location is great! Definitely recommend.
Not bad. The room was very small like a closet. It's definitely old.
Absolutely amazing. The restaurant inside was the best ever!
A beautiful hotel with stellar service. Valet parking was quick and polite, every one smiled and greeted us as honored guests. Food and drinks we're all top quality ingredients, prepared and presented with care. Every aspect of this esteemed hotel is polished and pristine.
We met friends for drinks before a show at the Ordway. Normally it's SRO or belly up, but we we were lucky enough to get a booth in the bar. If you need space and can plan ahead, always reserve a table. We got lucky this time but, always call ahead if you want to sit!
One of the best hotel experiences I've had. Was not terribly costly but the room was flawless, and the service was top notch. It made my business trip a delight. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.
The saint Paul hotel is a singular experience, situated in downtown, it's in the heart of the action. Food and service are incredible
Really good food and great service. Best Maker's Mark Manhattan I have ever had. A little on the pricey side for me but good value for an upscale place. The only negative is the menu is a little dated. I recommend the pork chops and wild rice soup.
The Saint Paul Hotel's lobby is beautiful and the staff are friendly and greet you whenever you come in or are heading out. The hotel rooms are very clean and organized and you can request room-cleaning service (for $15) and they clean up well. It's a nice location with some food places nearby and a Walgreens a few blocks away.
Room was really. Great room rate when reserved with a wedding party. Valet was quite busy in the morning but hotel was busy too.
Love the authentic history in this hotel. Great spot for a weekend getaway.
The bar has an excellent selection, the food was great, and the service was great. Would go again
I was here for an alumni meeting. Wish I had the funds for a weekend stay cation here. Beautiful!
they need to improve the facility. everything is kind of still old school. they only give 2 complimentary coffee and the rest has to be paid for (make it at least 10 free coffee since their coffee aren't even fancy).
I had a wonderful breakfast with my girlfriend and met NBA Legend Ralph Sampson...
Wonderful classy elegant venue for tea in their beautiful lobby. Yummy food. Great service. This is a holiday tradition for our family.
Beautiful, elegant atmosphere as well as unmatched hospitality.
You have to pay here for everything. Morning coffee, refills, a piece of bread all are expensive. Do not touch water bottle or snacks in the room they cost almost 10 times.
Great service! Had their homemade sangria, really good.
Great service and fantastic food. The view of Rice Park was beautiful as well.
Great place, like chilling in the bar watching baseball
The brunch at the St. Paul Hotel is a must! One of my favorite brunch buffets in MN :)
Attended a work dinner function at the hotel. They have excellent staff and great common areas.
Excellent meal and service. Steak was delicious, crab cakes were big and amazing, mac was cheesy and decadent, dessert was unexpected, an awesome way to end the dinner.
Incredible Christmas brunch; included prime rib, salmon, blue cheese potatoes, and a desert table that had everything. 12 floor has great views of Rice Park Christmas lights. Wonderful Christmas present for any couple!
For a couple of foodies, the in-room four course dining experience was amazing! The food was fantastic, the service was perfect, and the relaxed experience in a beautiful room was devine - especially on the (hopeful) tail end of COVID! Well done, St. Paul Hotel!
Beautiful historic hotel in a great location near Rice Park, the Ordway, the Public Library, and more. Expect to pay more, but you can't beat the location.
Place was nice overall. Walls are thin and we had dirty sheets 2 nights out of the 3.
Top flight experience start to finish. Convenient to park and access, wonderful classic vibe inside, and the room was all we could ask for. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was top notch, everything was nice and quiet. Definitely would stay again in a second.
A+ experience in every way possible. From the room to the service to the shower to the atmosphere, this is the kind of place that sells the bar for what a hotel should provide.
I'm giving this hotel 2 stars because of how horrible the customer service is, in every direction! Starting at the restaurant/lounge near the lobby, our waitress was horrible in a sense that she was more interested in wanting to know what me and my boyfriend were up to that night more than if we wanted to order. Then she disappeared when we wanted to pay the bill and go. The bartender couldn't find her either. We waited for 10 min before she finally showed up. Then she asks us what's next on our agenda. How about let us get the bill so we can just get outta there?! He had arranged for strawberries and champagne to be in the room as a surprise for me and they were not there. Found out he had already talked to the front desk about them not being there about an hour prior. They told him since it would be on ice they were waiting for the top of the hour to bring it. Well 20 min after the hour it still wasnt there. We were both disappointed and on our way to dinner we stopped by and he basically told the front desk guy (same one he talked to before) that it wasn't set up in our room and the moment is basically gone so just take it off the bill. The guy didn't even apologize or anything! He just said OK! Wow. I was very surprised by this! Most places would've insisted on fixing the problem and not causing any more disappointment. They failed big time there. Then we get to the restaurant and the grill was great. Tbone was amazing. The next morning woke up from house keeping at like 7am and then they were back again like an hour later. I asked the second one is check out time noon and she confirmed and said yes. Ok, I didn't understand why they were knocking on the door so early. They ended up charging the room for a couple mini bar snacks that were never taken, we didn't touch the mini bar. I asked the guy at the front desk if I could get a newspaper to wrap my flowers in so I could take them on the plane and he said I can't GIVE you anything for free but if you pay $1 I will give you a paper. Wow ok! What is up with the attitude? I wasn't asking for anything for free but he was certainly annoyed. I didn't even want to ask for tape or rubber bands to secure the flowers with. The only reason I give them any stars is because of the beauty of the hotel itself and also they provide Aveda bath products. I will never stay here again. Very disappointed in the staffing and extremely poor- borderline rude employees.
Did not stay overnight. We went to the hotel for a fundraising event. The hotel was immaculate. The food was delicious and service was impeccable. The conference room was large enough for about 200 of us with screens and a stage. The only drawback was the acoustics of the conference room, which made it hard to hear all times.
I so enjoy eating at The St.Paul Hotel. The choices and the drinks are so 1st rate and the prices are very affordable!
70s/80s formal design. Nice overall. Rooms are quite comfortable and the staff is nice and helpful.
The food was fantastic, but the service was slow for us.
Enjoyed the play. Salad and dessert were flavorful. Chicken entree was a little overcooked. Easy and plentiful parking within a block of the hotel.
First time staying here for a celebration, the room was excellent, as well as the food and service. Our waiter Charles did an excellent job, of taking care of us elderly people, Price are on the upper side, but service and food was well worth it.
My wife had a conference to attend here and I got to come along for the ride. It's a nice place. I hate writing.
The Saint Paul Grill was delicious. Brunch was timely and excellent.
BIG MISTAKE!!! It's too bad that we decided to stay here after our wedding =-( . We had multiple rooms here since our entire wedding party was staying at this hotel. I went to use the room key that my best man gave me for his room that we got ready in and it didn't work so I brought it down to the front desk to have them make sure it was for the correct room. Samatha said it was and told me to go try it again. I'm assuming she did something to it otherwise what is the point of trying it again. I go back up and of course it doesn't work ugggg so I'm not the happiest camper at this point but what am I to do. Again I talk to Samantha to tell her it didn't work and we need to get this situation straightened out because I'm missing my after party =-(. Samatha tells me I need to go to the bar and pull my best man from the fun that I was already missing out on because of this malfunction with the key. I was extremely polite and friendly up until this point. I put up a small argument since I have a key it reads in her computer as the key for the room I was claiming but I could tell that was not going to make a difference so I quit after a minute and went to the bar to get my best man. When we got back there was another person checking in so while we were waiting I was expressing my point that this is such a waste of time and resources and they must buy cheap keys. Once we got up to the counter he showed his ID and she made me a new room key. I say hopefully this key works (sarcastically) and she responds "If you want to cop an attitude we can go down that road" HOLY SMOKES...I couldn't believe a $200 night hotel snapped on me like that. I spoke with 2 managers that you could tell had typical entry level management training. Their goal like any good customer service manager was to take an escalated situation and calm everyone down. I explained to her I wasn't that upset about the key situation (although very inconvenient and annoying) it was the way I was spoken to and that I wanted an apology. She said that wasn't going to happen and one of the managers said she is apologizing on Samatha's behalf.
With all of the hotels, shuttle service, valet, restaurant, and bar we brought in $2500-3000 worth of revenue to them. I guess when I choose to go with an upper end $$$ Hotel I expected better than C+ service.
I will never stay at this hotel again but more than that I feel terrible that my friends and family spent their hard earn money only to have issues also with customer service and room cleanliness.
We love the service and the stay! It was a blast. Amazing amazing service they go above and beyond to satisfy all customers!
Fantastic service, beautiful location in rice park
Two great restaurants.
Fantastic place! Staff is nothing less than professional at all times. Very clean in the rooms and common areas. Room service responds quickly and no matter what questions you have they will make sure to get you to the person with the answers. Will definitely stay here any time I'm traveling to the twin cities from now on!
Cozy bar with great food and super drink selections.
