Marie Sandvik Center Review

I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to volunteer here over the years. It's nothing glamorous, and sometimes I don't understand the systems that are in place, but there are three reasons I come back.
- People in need come through these doors
- The Gospel is cherished by the staff
- Good food and clothing is provided
So, I gladly take the opportunity to do whatever I can to help the center share the love of Christ is word and deed. There's even opportunities for small groups to host an entire service.

They kicked a group out for feeding homeless people in their parking lot.

These people do a lot of good for the neighborhood! They help the downtrodden and poor as well as the drug addicted. If your down and out someone here can probably help lead you in the right direction.

All the Staff are so helpful and truly CARE. The food is great and you can get clothes for the whole family. It's great to have a place like this in the neighborhood. The children's programs are excellent & helpful to teach VALUES for success in school as well as with friends and life challenges in this world. You WILL be BLESSED if you attend the Services.

The Marie Sandvik Center is a full gospel rescue mission. The staff there is serious about equipping everyone who attends to live biblically.

I have personally known the leadership of MSC for close to two decades. Their compassion for those in need and their commitment to the gospel is second to none. There are few places that I have seen that are called to do the "dirty work" of the gospel (not a reference to people group or actual cleanliness, rather a reference to the "glamour" of the position), but not only does MSC do this work, they excel at it. If you are looking to truly serve, this is an incredible place to check out.

I volunteered here with a group a few years ago. As a middle schooler or early high school student I put this non profit on the bottom of my list for a number of reasons.
1) They had our group do a lot of tasks that seemed like their own job, like we were there take their work load off their backs for the day.
2) When it came distributing food, there was tons of rotten fruits and vegetables. Our group wanted to through them away. Im not talking a dime sized rot, but like over half the piece of food. They assured us that the homeless would "just pick through the rot". I do not think anyone should have to pick through rotted food.
3) It was an overall bad experience, I had volunteered at many non profits and I can say that I simply did not care for how the staff did things around here. I will definitely never serve there again. It left a bad taste in all of our group members (Over 30 people) mouths.

Awesome place! May the Lord continue to prosper this facility for all the good they do ! Jesus is King!

I am so grateful for the amazing help towards the Community with love and care.

I was asked by some friends while i was visiting them if I would be able to help in an evening worship service held there at the center. I am so glad that I agreed too, I believe I was more blessed than the people I was able to help minister to. Ms. Kristen does a tremendous job running the center and providing for EVERYONE who walks through the doors...Those being served and the ones serving alike. The people I met there and memories made will never be forgotten!
