Great place for games, but does not have many tables
Little on the expensive side but good long list of beers and great arcade games.
The place offers good service and attention. The problem is that video games bore me, but I went to give the pleasure to a friend.
Bigger than the st. Mark's location. Bartenders were friendly
Definitely liked this place. Affordable beers even in the middle of the city. Their food is passable, but be more importantly, they some really cool old-school arcade games. Be sure to have cash in hand.
Lots of fun playing old school games with a bar and good food right next to you
Decent game selection, very crowded. Prefer the Brooklyn location.
Wouldn't mind going back. Large beer selection. Didn't taste the food, but it looked good. Music was loud but is otherwise a good place to meet up with friends and hang out. Games were classic.
Pretty crowded, but what would you expect? Great source of nostalgia!
Awesome place, best stress reliever after a hard day of work..
Amazing vibe and the games are very reasonably priced! No pressure to buy drinks, so great for a cheap date!
Beer and games are awesome, a really cool place to have a really fun time!
Had a great time with co-workers here! The only reason for 4 stars is that the beer was weirdly weak and a few of the machines kept eating our coins. The two roads beer, victory ipa, and one of the other ipa's tasted like water, along with the whiskey sour tasting like fruit. Not sure what it was but I've never had an ipa taste so watered down before.
Drinks and games, what do you need more than that. Really fun atmosphere with nice music and amazing drinks. Shout out to the staff, very friendly and in the mood all the time.
Great beer selection and awesome old school arcade machines! Almost all are 25 cents a play. It was like I was 10 again!
Not a ton of games. If you don't want shooting games, there's not too much for you.
Exactly as expected. Very fun games, though some controller parts are getting beat up.
Fun nostalgic place, full of the video games I remember growing up.
great place, great food, great arcade choice , a must try
This was a fun bar to go to with a group of friends. Beers were reasonably priced. There were a ton of craft beers on tap. Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was comprehensive and informative to help order a beer you would enjoy.
Great experience, good beer selection, but gaming is expensive. Worth a visit
Excellent place! Unlike what I expected, they don't just rely on the gimmick of being an arcade and bar in one. The bartenders are super nice and get your drink quickly (at least on a Thursday). Rather large selection of draft beers, especially for a bar not touted as a "biergarten" (blech) and even a cask.
Food is pretty great. I try to be pescetarian, but I cheated and ate a wing because it looked so damn good. Sue me, it was worth it. Fish tacos are on point.
The games are all in pretty great condition as well. PacMan is always good for a fun, competitive time, though you'll burn through your tokens rather quickly.
How have I not known about this place!? Barcade has classic video games with a wide selection of craft beer. There are plenty of arcade machines to play at $.25 each. This is a great place to bring a group of friends where you can eat, drink, & play. Plenty of tables to sit and wasn't crowded at all when I went in the evening. I'll be back with more friends to tackle that X-Men game.
Fun gritty.. Looks dirty but its part of the charm to be honest. Awesome place to hang good bar and just all around good time here.
This location has that six player X-Men game I love! Good food here too.
They only charge a quarter per play! This is unheard of for anything in NYC except bananas.
Their selection is quite good, and thankfully focused on classic games. They offer classics like Space Invaders and Joust, and mainstays like Tetris. (How many versions of Tetris are there?) Not so much 90s games like racer after racer or DDR. This place is not about cutting-edge graphics. They only have one real racer, which is for the better because it forces players to venture out. There's a cute, cheesy 80s game that uses prerecorded clips to look like a movie. And most importantly, they have the original Super Mario Bros.!!!
I was surprised by the variety of offerings, which encouraged me to try new things and give seemingly-odd titles a try. Slither seemed rather boring, but turned out to be eminently bizarre and thrilling. If you browse you'll surely find some surprises!
This is obviously great for groups, and a considerable majority of games offer two player (X-Men does six). With some of them, you wouldn't even think it's possible and it's probably not even a good idea! (Try the wall climber, which requires two players to control a dude's different limbs). This adds to the hilarity and corniness that helps make gaming what it is.
There's no cover and I didn't buy any drinks. No pushy staff I never had to interact with an employee!
So much fun!!! My team and I had our organization's holiday party here a couple weeks ago and it was so fun. Food was on point, and it was nice to have the option of sitting and talking or playing games with friends. Overall about 40 of us came through. Definitely recommend.
$7 beers, dope arcade, cool vibe and crowd. def would recommend. cant wait to come back
Lots of retro games and good beers and cocktails. Can get crowded.
Great if you like to play video games on retro consoles while drinking craft beer.
It's a fun date spot and has a nice food selection too if you get hungry. The games aren't too challenging, so it's fun for a gamer of any level.
Good job with the atmosphere guys!
Wide selection of beers. You'll enjoy Barcade if you love 70's, 80s arcade games.
Loud spot though.
Actually not bad at all. Good draft selection and it's pretty open on a week night
good selection of games and beer. two of my favourite things :)
Good Buffalo style wings. Expensive liquor, but that comes with the territory in this neighborhood.
Great, loud atmosphere. Great beer selection and prices, and good tasting food, though a little pricey.
Also they have great vintage arcade games.
Food is good. But reallllllllllllly noisy. It has a lot of classic arcade games to play, but it is hard to have a conversation.
Fun spot for a chill date. Instead of awkward conversation over dinner, try grabbing a drink here and playing some games together.
Fun for a night to get together with friends to drink nd have fun but it takes forever to get a drink
Perfect place to have some beers and play some recreational games thirty years ago.
The place brought me some great memories. Nice arade game selection.
Better than Williamsburg simply cause it's less crowded.
A chain bar / arcade in NYC. Some classic arcade games like Xmen Crazy Taxi and Pac Man and some others that I don't remember but you may enjoy. Pretty good beer selection. Be of age and don't bring any outside food or drink. They'll make you toss it. Fair enough though.
This place is really cool when it's not busy, but I have to give it 4 just because they haven't laid out the floor plan for the bar well. When busy it's just impossible to stay for very long. A+ if it's empty.
This place is undone by it's popularity. The place is always too crowded to even get to most of the games, let alone play them. So the only thing left is the bar, and the options are the bar leave a bit to be desired.
Good selection of games, but the music is always too loud.
Fantastic reliving my childhood..great 16 bit games a plenty
Love it... friendly people. Is great to hangout, meet people and have fun playing video games. Also a Bar.
Female bartender with glasses was rude. The games are cool and the space is awesome but would not go back for the terrible service.
Good place for playing games, drinks and quick snacks
Barcade: Arcade bar, but what the title doesn't say is great craft beer and we'll sourced food.
A bar with old-school video game machines. If you are a man, you are more to come with people to have a laugh than to flirt there, because I did not see girls but the ones who worked in the place. Or if you are a woman, the perfect place to find retrogamers and take all your eyes and attention. Don't go to clubs looking for louts, unless you prefer that. Go to the Barcade there will be less pretentious and more authentic people.
Great selection of both beers and games. It's a really casual, if not crowded, place to get pretty good bar food and hang out for a while playing games. If you are a beer fan, then you'll want to check out what they have on the hand drawn cask selection. You'll find classic games like Donkey Kong and Joust, all for just a quarter.
Great people working at the bar. Scott was super nice. Really good pinballs!
Awesome atmosphere!!! I really enjoyed the old school video games and give of the place. The food is awesome and the drinks are reasonably priced and affordable.
Good beer selection, have fun navigating crowds to reach a game though
Fun place to hang out and have a couple beers. Lots of games to play. Casual spot to get some food as well
Pros:
-good variety in rotating beer selection
-lots of space to put down your drink while playing a game
-lots of games to play
-fun atmosphere
Cons:
-can get very crowded
-woefully small bar area
-not enough of the right kinds of games
-rarely room to sit or put coats/bags
Overall it s a fun spot but not one I go to regularly.
Nice bar where you can grab a drink and play a good variety of arcade games with friends. *They check your ID before you can enter.
The games all require these tokens to play or u can use quarters. They have exchange machines inside for the tokens in case you dont have any coins. Some of the games required more tokens than the others. Overall, it was a nice place to visit.
Cool games, good choice of beer, but gets old real quick.
Great place to unwind, awesome service and good food. Happy hour is lit. Excellent place to have a few beers or shots after work or from out of town.
The service was great and the concept of playing classic arcade games while drinking is fun even to people who aren't avid game players.
Good selection of beers, and arcade machines as expected, but a great surprise was how good the food was!
