This was our second visit to The Ritz for lunch. I think it was better than the first time. Probably the best food I've ever eaten. The service was exceptional and a little theatrical, which added to our meal. All the dishes on the menu were explained to us and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were very friendly and polite. A very nice lunch and day out.
Lovely place for afternoon tea. Good choice and variety of sandwiches and cakes. Individual pots of teas and strainers. The staff were lovely so unpretentious they made everyone so welcome and nothing was to much trouble
Five stars as you would expect, next level food. Don't forget your tie. I did but the gentleman in the cloak room had two boxes full of ties. All bases covered. Class Establishment.
I would put more stars than the maximum 5, if I could. Very attentive and accommodating staff. Excellent Champagne tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes for my wife's 60th birthday treat! A treat to see the renowned ornate interior.
Stayed at this outstanding hotel to celebrate my wife s retirement from the police service and my birthday. The whole stay and experience were fantastic. The staff are so attentive, welcoming and helpful. Lunch was fantastic and my wife had mentioned to reception briefly that it was my birthday to which a cake was delivered to our table at the end of lunch, really nice and classy touch, The Rivoli Bar like stepping back in time with fantastic cocktails. The rooms were exquisite, impeccably clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was an experience in its own right with wonderful pastries, fruit and a great English breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel, if you get the opportunity to go, take it, you will not be disappointed.
Everything was amazing- the service: impeccable, the food: exquisite. Luigi looked after us very well! Absolutely brilliant experience that everyone should try!
I took my mother here for a Celebratory Afternoon Tea for her 60th birthday and was not disappointed. Staff were immediately welcoming and courteous, kindly taking and storing my daughter's buggy for us and settling her in a highchair. She was gifted a Ritz bear and provided with a huge bowl of chopped strawberries and bananas, which she was delighted by. Staff interacted kindly with her and were quick to retrieve her water bottle when she dropped it.
The sandwiches were pleasant and we were provided with one tray of vegetarian sandwiches and one containing meat, as my mother is vegetarian and I am not. Neither of us drink tea so we had coffee and hot chocolate and were surprised to get four cups from each teapot.
The scones were warm and served with jam and cream. My mother prefers hers with butter and staff were very happy to accommodate.
As a fussy eater, I didn't care for the three small cakes, but these were beautifully made and presented.
My mother was provided with a small birthday cake with cream and pieces of raspberry in the middle, and was able to take away what we did not eat.
The buggy was ready and waiting for us as soon as we had paid the bill and we were made to feel welcome even on our way out.
All in all, the service was impeccable and the food good. The restaurant was beautiful, and the atmosphere warm, with live piano music and sufficient spacing between tables to create a feeling of intimacy rather than bustling, despite it being at maximum capacity. A lovely treat for a celebration.
Afternoon tea at the ritz was such a wonderful experience. The servers were so lovely and the atmosphere was really nice. Live music was playing throughout the night which was such a lovely touch.
Initially, I assumed the food wouldn t fill us up but it did! We were stuffed. Everything was so nice and the teas were delicious. 5/5 would definitely go again.
What an absolute pleasure stepping into England's finest, where everyone regardless of background or culture made to feel like royalty, silver service second to none, food amazing all staff impeccable. And building faultless. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. 1st class all the way.
