Amazing place! Love the art deco style, love the fact you can sit and have a nice drink from a nice glass at a table in a super comfy chair! Love the fella that comes out and chats before the film starts too, such a beautiful place and a real change from the usual hyped up cinemas! Definitely worth a visit, a true gem of a place!

The quintessential British cinema, even more than that. This is not a visit to the cinema, this is an experience at the cinema from film introduction by the mildly eccentric owner to the luxury premier seating area complete with open bar. If you want to really enjoy a film, this is the place to see it.

My favourite cinema hands down! Took my daughter this time for a Christmas treat & watched The Nutcracker. I love the oh so comfortable seats downstairs & I have a favourite table just in front of the bar where you can get drinks or food during the film without missing any of it.

Wonderful vintage gem in the heart of Berkhamstead. The most beautiful classic, art deco styled cinema with a fabulous array of old time hits, foreign art house films and modern day blockbusters - something for everyone! All served up in gorgeous comfort and with a big helping of community spirit. I challenge anyone to leave this little cinema without a smile on their face - regardless of the movie!

The Rex has totally changed the way I look at cinemas. Absolutely stunning venue - the cinema features a "normal" seating layout at the top half of the venue and the bottom feature a number of tables with swivel chairs. You can get food & drinks delivered to you during the film or even bring your own stuff - no need to sneak things in! A simple 2D screen, nothing special there, but the atmosphere makes up for this twice over and makes a cinema trip so much more special.

Best cinema on the planet. Comfy chairs at tables where you can rest your glass of beer or bottle of wine. Often the films are accompanied by a q and a with a director, actor or producer. Well curated mix of old, new, mainstream or arty films. Beautifully presented and maintained building. A great evening out.

Great venue, ashame about fool who introduces the movies, he's only interested in foreign subtitled movies, and decides to run down any current Hollywood block buster movies that make the U. K one of the biggest movie producers in the world, I should know having worked at Pinewood studios for the last 36 yrs.

I've been wanting to go to this cinema for the longest time and wasn't disappointed. The most civilised way of watching a film ever! Beautiful surrounding, oh so comfortable seats with your favourite poison in your hand. We were sitting in the back row with reduced leg room but still had more space than with your big cinemas. All the other seats have the kind of leg room you would need for a giant with a perfect view. I can't wait to go again.
