Stayed a few weeks ago for a wedding. The location was great and the building was absolutely beautiful! We were missing conditioner in the bathroom, not a huge deal and the buffet breakfast was a bit overpriced. The valets were especially courteous, professional and attentive. They were always available, offering to help with directions, our bags, even refreshments on the way home. Really fantastic customer service. We look forward to staying again!

Pleasant interiors. Single bed room didn't have much dresser space (or any, really). Location by water-front is convenient, and in walking distance to stadium and the DLCC. Lots of road closures and construction when I visited, but even without that the taxi drop-off area is hell to get in.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooms are huge and service is top notch. Got a great deal on Priceline. Hotel is pricey through normal booking channels. There are only 2 four-star hotels in downtown Pittsburgh so try Priceline first.

Phenomenal! I stayed here for a performance I had to do at the Byham right next door! The scenery, the color scheme, the furniture, everything was amazing! There is a restaurant and bar separately located on the entrance floor. Also, a Starbucks to the left of the elevators. Rooms were A1, views were A1!

Beautiful hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. Highly recommend the king room with the river view. Pictures of the river are from our window. Stunning views of the city especially at night. I can imagine how desirable this hotel is during events downtown and on the north shore. Very convenient location to local restaurants. Self parking directly across the street in a garage with a flat rate of 13 dollars week days and 8 dollars weekends. Walk right down the steps at the beginning of the Roberto Clemente bridge and take a peaceful and scenic walk along the river. Very close to the point state park. The actual hotel was stunning with a nice bar and restaurant attached. Pay movies and great stations to watch tv. The bed was amazing. The comfy chairs were great to curl up in and watch a movie while looking out the windows. Would definitely recommend and stay again! Well worth it.

I've stayed over 2000 nights at different Marriott properties and this is the 2nd worst EVER.
The hotel is run down, dirty, and smelly. The concierge lounge serves the WORST food- (there are other reviews that comment on that too) The Price is $350 a night But, worst of all the place is run by 20 20 year old desk clerks- They can't help you with anything, they don't know anything and they aren't even sure when their manager will return. That said they don't even seem to be bothered by the awful job their are doing - again at $350 a night - Hilton right around the corner is 1/2 the price

I was invited to a networking event in Symphony A at the Renaissance and it was a good space for the event. The view out of the room was beautiful and let us see the river, and the Roberto Clemente bridge! Only downside was that they did not have water to offer to guests.

From the customer service, to the Valet, the beautiful room, excellent view, delicious coffee in room and Starbucks down stairs, wonderful bed, sheets and "perfect" pillows! Plus, Pittsbugh in room decor...we will be back! Thank you for everything!

Public areas were not kept clean. The vent we were next to, while having drinks in the lobby has not been cleaned in many years. Housekeeping set our used glassware in the hall, where it reminded for the duration of our stay.

Beds are Murphy beds and we kept stubbing our toes on the bed because there is no room for your feet under the bed.

The rooms were clean and the beds (once in) were nice. Staff were very accommodating and professional. We have stayed at other Renaissance Hotels and loved it. We really wanted to enjoy our stay more

This hotel is beautiful! When I arrived, Patrick helped with getting me checked in and up to my room. He and everyone else have been very accommodating. Our room faces PNC park and the river making for a lovely view especially at night. The hotel is just a quick walk across the bridge from PNC if you plan to go to a baseball game. There's also tons of great food options within walking distance. My only gripe is that it can be difficult to valet due to the closeness of the hotel to the intersection.

Beautiful lobby! Fitness center has lots of machines and weights. Restaurant and bar in lobby seemed good (I didn t get a chance to eat there). My room had a beautiful view of the river and bridges. Late night staff was really nice and helpful. I d definitely stay here again.

This particular Renaissance is not as nice as most of the ones that I stay at. It's older and a little run-down. The gym was small. The elevators weren't working last night and I waited 20 minutes to get to my room. The restaurant was pretty good though.

Good location. However, as a seasoned traveler, this hotel is quite old compared to many other Marriott hotels, and the facilities are running down. I can hear noise from the pipe, or somewhere in the room all the time. The bed/comforter is not super clean. The smell of the comforter/pillow is not like they just come out of the washer/dryer. It feels like they have been used for a while, and it is not cleaned... I couldn't fall asleep the first night at all... On top of it, the hair dryer is broken -- when I tried to use it, it makes noise, and it seems something is stuck inside. As a loyal Marriott member, I think this hotel can do better -- maybe spend some $$ to renovate, and increase the rate a bit. after all, there are many business travelers to the city.

The hotel is very nicely situated in Pittsburgh and we had a nice stay. The reason we didn't give 5 stars was because of a few minor details. There was peeling wall paper in the bathroom, the cleaning crew seemed to take out our trash but do nothing else to the room until 3pm, there was a chunk out of the bathroom sink, and we heard everything going on in the hallways at all hours. The service was very nice and we felt very welcomed during our stay.

Staff is awesome. I think they might be in the middle of updating the rooms to a more modern feel as there were a couple larger items in the rooms they were a bit outdated compared to the rest. Stayed here for a wedding anniversary and special requests for room service were all done as asked. Great location for the theaters or stadiums. In-hotel bar/restaurant is a great option if you re looking to stay in.

Very nice place, centrally located. Stayed at room 1116 and had a very nice view. Reminded me of my stay in Paris years ago.
Staff is super nice. Try the Turkish restaurant cross the street, it has a very good food at a reasonable price.

Was very nice and very friendly and very well located for a Pittsburgh visit. Will most likely stay here on all future business trips. They could pay a little more attention to some cleanliness details (Curtains needed cleaning, bedding was clean but had some permanent stains) but overall was awesome. Should really put a smoker's outpost ash disposal out front as it accumulates a lot if cigarette butts. They do a reasonable job of keeping it swept up, but cannot keep up with the accumulation rate on a busy evening.

This is supposed to be a five-star place. I was having some really high expectations. But they failed to deliver. The windows are dirty, paints are chipping, vents are beyond filthy, and the tub faucet is about to fall off... I m simply not impressed. Not sure if this is room specific (722), but the impression I got is that they just let the place start looking run down.

Terrible for the price. Room was smaller than expected, and smaller than ANY hotel room I ve stayed at. Room was pretty bare. Wasn t even a microwave. There was many cosmetic issues. The bathroom was not reflective of a $300 dollar a night, 4 star hotel. My biggest issue as I lay here in bed at this very moment, it s hot as hell!! The rooms are not individually climate controlled; even though they have thermostats in the rooms, all they do is control the fan. All of these little Details are not things I feel I would need to check in on when booking at a Marriott hotel. It s extremely disappointing.

Long story short: don t be fooled by the extravagant lobby and beautiful ceilings.

Historic building right downtown near the arts distrct and Heinz Hall. The hotel has some great views. The rooms are relatively large and had some high ceilings. Staff were helpful and provided some decent recommendations. There is garage parking across the street or valet.

The Renaissance Pittsburgh is centrally located in downtown. The building and rooms are beautiful examples of early twentieth century style and elegance. The staff is great and the historic building well maintained. The only problem is parking! The Valet service is inhibited by the tight quarters in front of the hotel. I ended up parking in the ramp across the street and carrying our luggage from the fifth level back to the lobby. I think the hotel needs to address this problem if they want to increase guest satisfaction with their experiences. Besides the parking issues, a five star experience.

Beautiful lobby, clean and comfortable rooms, it's got that old classic fancy feel to it, and the lounge on the top floor has an amazing view, although it's open for very limited hours. Worth the stay, worth the experience.

Disappointing

Disappointing
Strange, strange. Where a relatively standard Hotel has well over 1,100 review that should have raised a flag. Other reviews are extatic and to be honest this is more a low key Marriott Hotel. Furnitures are not so new and bathroom very average. Decoration might a little boring (looks like a haunted house to me). But the one star is for the staff refusing to serve us a coffee at the Starbuck at 8 minute before 6AM on a Monday morning. Everything was set but the excuse was "I do not open the cash until 6 sharp". Our taxi was here and we left for more hospitalable place.

Ice machines on every floor and soft updated modern decor make the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel an excellent stay. Despite the new year celebrations and Steelers game room service was prompt and helpful.
