Really cool store with lots of interesting selection but the staff is down right rude. There hasn t been a time in there when the staff hasn t been rude or off putting, and I don t think I will be returning any time soon. Today when I asked to see something in the display case, the guy behind the counter literally tossed it at me and walked away like I had bothered him. Put me in a sour mood. If you don t mind the employees attitudes then it is a fun shop to check out. Heads up though I have noticed their prices slowly increasing as well.

The Public Butter has zero customer service, unfriendly staff and a NO RETURN POLICY. Whatever good shopping karma they do generate by having decent clothes at reasonable prices is ruined by inattentive staff that ill equipped to deal with shoppers, and seem more inclined to be rude rather than helpful. The sales girls never leave the counter and are way more interested in their snacks, gossip and the music that's playing to consider any consumers needs or any shopper's experience - just try to return something you purchased there and you will see their phoney smiles disappear and their teeth emerge. They relish saying NO. You may not return any item - its buyer beware at the Public Butter.

The staff here are awkward and pretentious. They made me feel uncomfortable asking for a discount on an item that was visibly damaged but I did anyway and I was met with snarky, sarcastic response, something along the lines of oh so you re not doing too well then . Like??? Don t sell ripped items if you re not willing to give a discount. It s a shame because they do have a good selection of items, but I wouldn t recommend to anyone and I won t be going back.

This place doesn't have a welcoming atmosphere, the place is really old, had a few unique looking shoppers tho.
There's some cool vintage things but alot of things looked liked really old and like garbage. i would've liked it if the place was clean and organized.

I've been here twice and my experience overall was eh. This is a warning for future customers, the employees won't make you feel welcomed, barely any eye contact, no greetings, no smiling. They weren't rude but they made me feel uncomfortable and anxious. Maybe I'm expecting too much but I've been to plenty of stores, restaurants, fast-food chains etc., where employees made me feel welcomed. Also, the fact that you can't return anything bothers me :/ Don't get me wrong, Public Butter does have a lot of nice stuff. But be cautious (the items are overpriced). This store is faulty. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

A clothing store near the intersection of Queen west and Dufferin.
It is a famous shop where customers are located regardless of weekdays and weekends.

The conditions vary, but there are many bargains.
Levi's Silver Tab is $ 20, $ 45
Carhatt shirts cost $ 20 and are much cheaper than Japanese secondhand clothing.
Starting at $ 20, there are plenty of band T-shirts, and it will be an irresistible choice for vintage T-shirts.

I thought that the atmosphere was similar, but Public Butter Vintage
It seems to be affiliated with Black market (all used clothes store for $ 10).
Because there are more things that can be worn and worn than the Black market,
I want to find treasure cheaply! It is recommended for anyone who wants.

This place is pretty cool. My favourite part? Their home-printed T-shirts with totally non-sequitur slogans and graphics. Aside from them, and the collection of used bikes out front, this is a fairly standard vintage/used clothing shop.

They had an a "passing grade selection" although there were many pieces that were over twenty dollars. My previous visit is my first and last. I never knew it was okay to be racially profiled by following me around the store vs the other non-POC shoppers who were free to roam the store without a chaperone over their shoulder. No greeting, no customer service. I don't recommend coming here, I'll take my money elsewhere.

Classic Parkdale thrift shop. Funky selection, great prices and just a good place to check out either way. Hit them up and then grab a beer up the street at Vegandale Brewery and Doomies for a Vegan Bog Mac! Proper Sunday!

I go for cheap T's for my bf and baby onesies for showers in the 905, so their always much different then the generic toys are us cutesy stuff.. Also have gotten some great vintage mixing and serving bowl sets my mum used growing up. Staff are alright, I'm not a hipster so I don't get the best help, but whatever, it's good for what I need.

This store usually has solid deals on.

If you're in the hunt for vintage stuff made in the USA / Canada this place is for you. They don't charge a premium for those items which is nice.

The staff couldn't care less, which is all right with me.

They're is usually some unusual finds in the store.

It feels like a vintage store, and it is true to its kind.

You'll definitely find something you like here.

It is a used clothing store in the center of Toronto. There are quite a few secondhand clothing shops in Toronto and there are American fashion items so it's very interesting! In particular, the shops here are fairly solid despite the fact that there are a lot of cheap items that cost $ 20 to $ 40. Some shops only sell products with strange stains and smells instead of cheap ones, but here are no worries! A wide range of fashion items including pants, jackets, downs, hats, belts, shirts, accessories and more!

Great shop right in the heart of the area known as Parkdale. Amazing finds can be had but be prepared to scour and search through the racks. Not really organized well but that doesn't affect the quality of merchandise to be found. Most items are in the $20 to $30 range aside from their staff picks which all seem to be over $100. Known for their 50% off sales, I was fortunate enough to be able to grab a suede fringe rider jacket for $10 in perfect condition. Highly recommended for their value to quality ratio.

Awesome goods for really low prices. I got a warm coat (good through early winter) for $20. It looks like they put in some work to make the genuine wear appear more intentionally distressed.

I needed a toque and went in to see what they had. I had to take a picture of the colour varieties and think about my selection. For $10 a pop, I should probably just get a few.

I love this place.

Pretty good selection (from the stand point of a male vintage shopper), their prices are pretty good (for vintage clothing), and the staff is friendly and very helpful. I try to pop in from time to time when I'm nearby.

if you love body dysphoria and self disgust this is the place to go!

i was looking forward to visiting public butter for a few months now. i ll never be going back. they like to make up their own sizing, despite what the numbers on the actual labels might say. they excuse it by saying that denim stretches out over time (and they only measure the waist band). if that were the case i would have to go down sizes, no? i was trying pants on 5+ my size for denim and no matter the rise or fit they were incorrect 9/12 times. i wouldn t dare sizing down. i m so upset.

I'm a huge fan of vintage/thrifted clothing. I was really looking forward to checking this place out on my trip to the city, even despite some of the comments I read on the reviews. The woman that helped me was very kind, and eager to help me look for specific items so no complaints there. BUT, I did find most of the selection to be VERY worn even for a thrift store. Most of the jeans I looked at either had major stains or rips that would be very hard to mend. Shirts were very well worn, and felt pretty gross even to look through. I can see the potential to find a gem in this place if you REALLY look. But you more than likley would have to put a lot of work into the item for it to be wearable. And for most of the prices they ask , its not worth it.

Really cool place, you d be surprised what you can find there. Found a vintage coach bag once in very good condition only $20. Usually my go to to find cheap Levi s jeans/shorts. Staff are a tad quirky/don t say hi or anything but honestly doesn t bother me. If you like to hunt for true vintage and antique items this is def the place to go.

Less than a minute walk from Queen and Dufferin and always a good find. The staff are friendly and take a hands off approach and just let you do your thing. If your in a bind for a gift or need those ripped high waisted shorts for the summer or a good costume youll find it here.

Good prices and a good quantity of a few selected styles of vintage clothing and shoes. You can also find some distressed wood and metal, but these items are often rare. It's not all vintage clothing, some are just made to look vintage, such as brand new shoes hammered and stained to look vintage.

I'm a regular customer but for some reason everytime I go to this store I can't get over the rudeness of the staff! They lack personality and are so unhelpful.. Great clothes but Jesus get your staff together or else lose your loyal customers. There's more life coming from the morgue. Blunt but its tried and tried with this place!!

West end outpost of the Black Market store owners ...

West end outpost of the Black Market store owners with a different vibe. This is a straight up vintage clothing store which also carries a selection of accessories like sunglasses, messenger bags, jewellery, chairs, ect.

Most of the store is focused on vintage clothing including jeans, t-shirts, coats, leather jackets and the odd hat, for both men and women.

The store has a good inventory turnover rate so you're bound to see some new stuff between visits. They also carry a small selection of military surplus clothing comparable to the Black Market in quantity, but better in terms of quality and selection.

Reasonable prices and decent sales throughout the year. One of the better vintage clothing stores in the GTA and well worth visiting.

Have had no problems with the staff. Some of them seem to be a bit quirky, but I've never personally experienced or observed rudeness from the staff.
