Stayed here for a weekend in September. The hotel is definitely amazing for Vintage lovers. The room was very nice and had that antique feel, the bed was extremely comfortable! The hotel is beautiful. We definitely enjoyed the location, in my opinion the best on NOTL. You can literally walk anywhere... restaurant, shops, bars, the waterfront.

The hotel has a nice little bar, they had live music on Friday and it was a great spot to enjoy a cold beer and good tunes.

It is a little on the higher end of the price point but a great hotel if you are into vintage and want an awesome location.

The service waa great. They were attentive even though it was a busy afternoon with lots of traffic coming in and out. The room was spacious, but limited seating so you would have to wait for tables to clear first.

I took my mother in law to The Prince of Wales Hotel for afternoon tea for Mother's Day since we both love tea and history. It was a lovely experience. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was excellent, and we were served delicious scones, sandwiches, and baked goods. The tea selection was wide and we were both very happy with our selection. We reserved a table ahead of time so there was no waiting.

At first my wife and I were very enamored with the hotel, this later fell apart for us with two complaints, the beds are horrible, and there was a wedding with loud music that did not stop until after midnight. the music would be ok in the summer when we would likely be out however with temperatures being low in November we hoped to stay in and enjoy each others company. so our sleep was terrible, and considering we had the diner and breakfast pkg, this ended up being $600 we expected a lot more especially from a hotel/spa. I guess they expect you to book a message for the lack of sleep and crooked back you get from your stay

Update. I called the number that the "owner" provided. I talked to 3 different people who passed me on to someones voicemail that never called me back.

Historic & beautiful hotel with THE BEST location in Niagara On the Lake. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. I took my wife here for a long weekend for New Year's Eve & to celebrate her 50th birthday. I asked Rafael, at the front desk to have a bottle of champagne in the room waiting to make it a little extra special. We received a bottle of champagne, a card, an assortment of chocolates AND a dozen red roses! I'm going to post the picture of it along with this review. Someone from housekeeping also stops by in the early evening to ask if you need any housekeeping tended to and she drops off a white rose. I highly recommend The Prince of Wales!

Nice hotel, but perhaps not as luxury as it might have been? Still really nice, but just a historic property that perhaps needs some attention to the finer details.

Great staff and service! Especially at the bar.

Absolute charm from beginning to end. Always greeted with a warm welcome from front desk staff. Hazel was there at our last check in and she is terrific at what she does. Swift check in and sure to greet you, making you feel at home. We had a gorgeous room which was spacious and romantic. We always relax at the pool and enjoy the silence. A phenomenal getaway from our crazy lives and a place I refer to as my sanctuary. Thanks again Prince of Wales and Hazel for an outstanding trip!

Nice easy dining on the patio in the sun
Only one waiter working flat out, so service slow, but was not in a rush
Right at the centre of Niagara on the Lake, handy for the horse drawn carriages

We had high tea at the Prince of Wales in the drawing room. The whole property is beautifully decorated and service is top notch. The tea was varied and tasted great. The food was good, some of the sandwich bread was slightly going hard due to being left out and prepared in advance. The price is high, but for the ambience and experience it is worth it for special occasions.

Niagara by the Lake is such a great town. I love how historical the street is and this hotel is just gorgeous! I had lunch at their restaurant and it was reasonably priced as well as delicious.

6 of us stayed for the ice wine festival and had dinner at the hotel. 3 of us were vegetarian and ordered the ravioli. It was really terrible. Tasteless. The waiter offered us tobasco sauce to help give it flavor. Apparently it was a new menu and obviously never tasted by the chef! We were then offered a cheese and onion pie as a replacement. For the money we paid for the dinner package it was a pretty poor show. I complained when I checked out the next day and was told the head of that department would call me by Tuesday. It is Friday and no one seems interested in how poor their meal was. Poor show.

Went there this past weekend during the evening and had a spa treatment. Overall experience was great. Aroma therapeutic massage was fantastic. Rodger added extra pressure to massage which I really enjoyed. My 80 minute massage was perfect. Place is clean and the staff are friendly. Only down fall, I wish the hot tub was hotter. But the sauna was the heat I needed. Will come back again for other spa services.

Can't say I see the big deal. I had the arctic char. Potatoes cooked to taste like chips, and the carrots were pickeled. There were way too many contradicting flavors on the plate.

Double shot of Oban, glass of wine, one starter and two mains. No dessert and one bottle of sparkling water... $200. The staff are great and our waiter had just the right amount interaction. Definitely give this place a try... In my opinion... the cost of the meal reflects more on the location then the food.

We stayed at the Prince of Wales for a short vacat...

We stayed at the Prince of Wales for a short vacation in Wine Country. Overall it was a very nice experience, with beautiful decor and great service.

Lounge:
We stopped in at the lounge for some fine cheese and drinks upon arrival from a winery tour. The cheese selection was excellent, and was served with honey, crisps of muesli bread, and dried cranberries. My wife had the Sauvignon Blanc, and I had some insane genius of a drink with ice wine and sortilege, through a chocolate straw. Fantastic.

Tea Room:
We had the traditional tea service around 4pm (tea time, right?) in their beautiful tea room. The server was knowledgeable about the teas, and brought us boxes of teas to smell and look at before deciding. We had the Heavenly Cream tea, which was quite possibly the best tea I've ever had. It was served with a 3-tiered platter of delicious treats, as well as homemade jam, butter and clotted cream. We dressed up fancy, and had a wonderful time eating scones and quoting Oscar Wilde. The only drawback was that the service was slow towards the end; I think there was only one server and she was cleaning up the tea room as we finished up.

Pool:
We had a dip in their pool and hot tub in the evening. Although small, the pool room had a great ambience with large, interesting paintings and skylight windows (I think). The hot tub was relaxing, if not that hot (a warm tub?). The pool was small, but refreshing. The pool area had an intimate, relaxing feel, and we easily spent an hour in there without getting tired of the water and cool paintings.

Room:
Our room was on the second floor of the south wing. The hallway to the room smelt alternately of bubble gum and gross mustiness (confined to one of the staircases). Thankfully, the smell did not extend to our room. The room itself was fine; with a Keurig coffee maker for those interested (the best hotel coffee I've had in awhile!). There was only 1 bed-side table, which was a bit disappointing. We were given water and oranges, which was a welcome touch and very tasty. The bed was a little firm for our liking. The wireless speed left something to be desired.

Decor:
Overall, the hotel has a fantastic decor. It is worth going just to see all of the different styles and paintings. An afternoon spent in the tea room / lounge would be a good excuse to look around.

We did not try the spa or restaurant, so we can't comment on those, but the restaurant looked quite good.

Amazing stay at the Prince of Wales. Rooms were very clean with an old Victorian charm. Location is ideal. It is right in the middle of town. Many pubs, and restaurants nearby. Roses at turndown were a nice touch.

Price of Wales was such a great place to stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was extremely peaceful, and the rooms were beautiful and spacious. The hotel has plenty of parking but is in walking distance from lots of shops and restaurants. Very convient and a perfect place to stay.
