Barr Homes Review

I never write reviews but felt that this builder deserves one. We transferred into the area due to being in the military. We met John at an open house of theirs and instantly connected with his past service to our country. He helped us with purchasing one of their homes already under construction. Since we didn't have time to build a home from the start, this took the stress out of our home search and we were able to still choose many of the selections and finishes for our home.
We were able to make many of the selections during our brief trips back before the move. Our home turned out just as we hoped for. The whole process was great from start to finish and even after with their year warranty. I love to see veteran owned businesses thrive like this one.

I would give 0 stars. My husband and I went to an open house. There was a family already there, so we checked out the upstairs. After we heard the family the leave, John Barrett shouted hello from the kitchen.

When we walked down stairs towards him, the first thing he said was You know this house is expensive right? It s around 570k. I can find you some cheaper homes in the 200k-350k.

That s so rude to assume we can t afford a home. We didn t know if it was our race or that we look young. It could be both. Regardless, it s super rude. He tried being nice later, but the damage was done.

Terrible builder. built our home and never addressed issues

This is the first time I have ever posted a negative review. We built a house with Barr homes and from day one the yard was not graded correctly. The water is still coming into our basement 3 years later. The roof also leaks in 4 spots. We will have to spend $20,000 to fix these issues.

Extremely unhappy with John Barrett not honoring the warranty that was offered with the purchase of one of his homes. Just patchwork not repairs. Won't return calls. Very bad experience.

DONT EVER BUY A HOUSE FROM THESE IDIOTS!! MY DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND BOUGHT A HOUSE FROM THEM AND THEY HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND HAVE MADE PHONE CALL AFTER PHONE CALL TO GET THEM TO FIX THE THINGS THAT WERE MESSED UP AND THEY GET NO HELP FROM THEM!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BUSINESS I'VE EVER HEARD OF IN OMAHA NE!!!! I HAD TO GIVE ONE STAR TO GET THIS POSTED, THEY DESERVE ZERO STARS!!!!!!

Great home builder in the omaha area with quality built homes at a reasonable price!

We purchased a home with Barr Homes in May 2020. Greg and Becky were great to work with. They explained the process from start to finish and answered ALL are questions quickly and thoroughly. We love how our new home turned out! Thank YOU!

Barr built our home in March 2018. They addressed everything on our check list and give us a beautiful home at a great price. We are now looking at upgrading to a new home and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again!

Their homes have many nice features lacking in other new homes. They normally have several specs available if you don t have time to build from the ground up.
