Had the worst service this week. Party of six arrived near noon on a Monday. Walked right in, which was great. Our waiter (James) was unpleasant to start and kept calling member of our group 'red' - I assume because she had red hair.

We ordered drinks and food. James came back once and asked if we wanted more drinks, said he was going to bring water and then we didn't see him again for at least 20 min. Upon his return, he walked quickly by saying he would bring more water (which he never brought any the first time). After flagging down a separate waiter, we finally go water but that waiter would not get us any drinks, 'he wasn't our waiter'.

We waited over an hour for food, never got a second set of drinks until after our food finally showed up. And when we did try to order new drinks, James was too busy to get the full order and only took one person in our groups drink order and ran off.

There was no effort to be apologetic or compensate us for the fact several table that sat after us ate, paid and left before we even got our food.

In addition, having a food allergy can make it very difficult to order. When I asked to have a different sauce than the one with beer in it, I was berated because it was a brewery and of course they have beer in their sauce. I just wanted some ranch or mayo, which I still didn't get on my food. It was an overall horrible experience.

I love the atmosphere and all the staff is very friendly. I absolutely love all the beer and food. The best part of this place is being able to eat outside on a beautiful oregon day. The outside view is unbeatable especially during the sunsets. I definitely do not think it's over priced, clearly for bieng one of the only good restaurants near by its worth it compared to going to busy Lincoln city. Of course this place is a RESTAURANT so the prices are fair, it's not a fast food joint. This is one of the only places I enjoy on the Oregon Coast

Always a favorite for our customers. They can grab some beer to go and hang out on the beach or open seating on the back patio with great views of the Oregon Coast. We recommend going at sunset. Can't beat the beautiful Oregon Coast as the sun goes down.

We went to Pelican Brewing for the food, not the beer, and it was a disappointment. We ordered the fish and chips and dungeness crab mac and cheese. It was overpriced for the small portions. The mac and cheese was bland. Won't be going back.

Beer was good and the building and setting was amazing. The staff however didn't want to be there. The hostess at the front entrance asked if we would like to sit outside and we said sure. She then pointed us to a back door. We went outback and sat down on the patio where we were the only ones there. 4 waitresses sat at the other end of the patio and pretended not to see us for around 20 minutes. Finally, they sent over a waiter who walked up and asked if we were eating, we said maybe just trying some beers. He then told us that if we weren't eating we were welcome to go order from the bar and take a plastic chair outback but we couldn't have a table. We then went to the bar and ordered our drinks. The bartender provided much better service but I doubt I'll be back.

The food here is unacceptably awful. It costs anywhere from $14-$18 for a sandwich (expensive even for being on the coast) and judging by their most basic burger - the Brewpub Burger - the quality of ingredients is characteristically low. They've tried to dress up a low-grade beef patty of the previously frozen variety by adding a slice of Tillamook cheddar and some arugula, but the bland, dry beef still shines strong and it's served on a dry bun that has a texture resembling the beach outside.

And sure, the location is cool, but just grab your own beer and head to the beach anywhere else. The atmosphere simply isn't worth it, especially because their wait staff leaves some friendliness and enthusiasm to be desired and the walls of the restaurant are lined with awards from years past when this place apparently had standards. Like great, your beer won some awards in 2005, maybe try doing something to impress your current patrons, cause what you're serving now is not cutting it.

Location. Location. Location. The Pelican has location in spades. Great spot on the beach to enjoy beautiful views of the cape, ocean, and haystack rock. Good food but a bit on the spendy side. Beer selection was surprisingly limited. Would come back just for the view and sunsets.

Ive been coming to Pelican for years! Food is a bit spendy and wait can lengthy, but the ambiance and view is worth it. There is some construction going on right now, which hinders the view a bit, but still worth it. I had their clam chowder recently, and its one of my favs now!

Good food but worst customer service I have had in a long time. Charged me three times for my meal, put me on hold several times, then told me to call back. They never did. Still put on hold again only to be told he will fix it. You all need to put your customers first and take care of them if you make a mistake. Now my credit card us shut off for vacation. And no real apology.

This is a very popular stop on the coastal route so expect everything that goes along with that. That being said the food is good, service is decent and the view is spectacular. Famous haystack rock is off the shore. We saw a couple of whales spouting off shore near the rocks. The waitress says the like to hang around there. Beautiful stop wih great memories of being there with my daughter 10 years ago. It s a charming little town.

Spectacular location. I wasn't there long, but the beer seemed to be alright. The clam chowder and house salad were excellent. I'm hoping to get back to Cape Kiwanda soon. I took a detour on my way home to Washington and just happened upon this place. Glad I took that detour.

Food prices doubled from the last time I was here. $15 onion rings, $19 burger, $20 tacos, $18 margherita pizza. Smaller portions than they used to have. Overall feels like a cash grab. Can't beat the location though.

First of all, we were told 60-75 minutes. After 90 minutes we asked how much longer and we were told it would be about 20-30 more minutes. We decided to just order to go. We were told it would be about 10-15 minutes. After about 10 minutes, a bag was placed on the front counter. There were three girls up at the counter and none of them checked on the bag. One of them was talking non stop to her two friends that had walked in 20 minutes earlier. After about 10 more minutes we asked if that bag was ours. One of the girls looked at it and said oh yeah it is as she laughed. We brought it back to our hotel room and had our cold meal. The coleslaw was by far the worst we have ever eaten! The French fries were good. The fish was less than mediocre... I ve had better at McDonald s! The clam chowder was average.... would definitely not recommend this place or ever eat there again!!

Stopped in for a beer at the bar on a sunny afternoon - bar tender was quick to help us and in choosing a few good samples. Got a crowler afterwards and went to the beach, great location for the brewery.

Be EXTREMELY careful. They have items on their menu that contain peanuts but are not labeled. After a dinner for 9 and a $250 trip to the ER for my son after his peanut exposure, they offered a free meal if we came back. No. Thank. You.

I have been going to the Pelican Pub for as long as I can remember, probably 7+ years and have always loved it. My visit last week was a joke. The menu was ridiculously over priced! I ordered a bowl of clam chowder that is more of a cup size and still $8. My boyfriends $15 burger was greasy and the bun was disgusting, all you could taste was the grease. I just cannot get over how over priced the menu was, even the appetizers. Anything that was ever good on the menu is now gone. Service was good though, our waitress was very friendly and we got seated right away during lunch hour. Expect to over pay!!

One of the best pub and grub that I have been in. Well worth a road trip. The service was great, when you stop in ask for Hank. Excellent waiter, and funny. The Clam Choder is World class, for a starter. We hand hamburgers with fries... Just excellent supper great place... Hope that you get to see some of the videos I took. Thank YOU
Pelican Brewing. We always come back.

Fantastic view, located right on the beach, serving excellent food and beer. I recommend their fish tacos and clam chowder. You can walk on the beck or climb the dunes at Cape Kiwanda to have an excellent view with a chance of seeing whales! (seasonally)

Of all the places to stay at the beach, we decided to stay in Pacific City, then we were able to walk to Pelican brewery for dinner. It is my honey s 69th birthday, I chose the house salad with tri tip to go with it that was so tough and stringy I couldn t cut it. He ordered Pinot Grigio to go with his dinner, isn t that supposed to be white? That s not what he got, it was red. They didn t have any of the alcohol he wanted to order for his after his meal. The waitress, oh gawd don t get me started. Expensive to be so disappointed.

The staff (josh) was excellent, the beer is always good...the food was something to be desired...and was...until we got our food. They serve cod instead of halibut, which can be good too, but not here. They charge superior prices for insuperable food. Not worth the experience!

I'm a Oregonian who every time I come to the coast I make sure to stop at the Pelican. My review is sadly not great. I wish it was better since this is such a top spot. So my experience over the years is that every time I come back the food gets worse and worse. On top of that, I'm now seeing 20 dollar average sticker price for any item (even all apps!). No way. There has to be a voice here of reason that just says no to these insane prices.
To me, it has lost all its values to money and marketing. The only thing that has improved was the beer. Man the beer used to be mediocre compared to other breweries coming up in 2009-10 but this time around it was up to par. Well good luck to you pelican, I'm sure you've sold out to the money and perhaps deserve it for all your hard work of building this place but for the average consumer it's a no go. Much better breweries out there on the coast like Chetco brewery, Rouge Brewery, Astoria Brewery, Fort George, all of which had better food and better prices. See yah never. If you do stop here, best advice is to grab a six pack to go and sit on the beach. It's the perfect beach to hang out and have a few. Cheers friends.

Birthday dinner while on vacation on the OR Coast. Beer and hamburgers were fantastic. Their Marzen is very authentic! Its hard to find non-imported Marzens that taste like proper decocted Marzens. If you have to choose between the fries and the onion rings, go onion rings -- they are awesome. Their stout is chocolaty coffee goodness too ... oh and their in house BBQ sauce is ... wicked.

The view is great. The fish and clam chowder was delicious. The fries were cold so give a 4 stars for that and it's on the pricey side. Definitely worth it overall I think but not for people on a budget or a quick bite to eat. About half hour or more to be seated on a Sunday afternoon.
The staff was great and on point to assist with the meal needs we had.
Sometimes you just have to spend a little more for the experience and the view. Cheers!

Amazing place! Great for kids and families. From the salmon app to the Mac n cheese (crab) it was great. Took care of us and our party which included 3 kids under 4. Great experience and will for sure be back!

Never had I had such bad service before in a restaurant. We were put on a waiting list, no problem at all. Then one of the servers got in our face about the mask policy for the 2 year old we brought, saying she wasn't really 2. She argued with us and caused a scene. The server must have been in a glee club, she was pretty dramatic. And then we tried to take the 2 year old to the bathroom and she refused us.

We packed up quicker than a protester at Standing Rock, no need for us to support an establishment that treats their customers this rudely.

Brought my fiance to Pacific city for the first time, I've grown up dining at the pub, shes never been to the PNW. the weather changed a few times as we sat on the patio, like it does, the servers were exceptional and worked tirelessly to cater to the crowd. Well done and they all deserve raises.

Really expensive bar food! The wife and I got fish tacos and a burger, our toddlers shared a kids burger, and then we both had 1 beer. It came out to $91 with a standard tip...definitely capitalizing on the good view.

We have always enjoyed our stops at Pelican and this time was a standout. Covid restrictions make it very difficult on restaurants, but these guys figured it out well. We had a long wait, but it was a beautiful November day on the beach so we didn't mind. We had a great table on the sand, excellent service, tasty food and refreshing beer. Can't wait to return!

I really liked this place a lot. We came up after exploring the cape and were in the mood for a beer and something to tide us over until dinner. Many of the beers had punny names, the milk stout I got was called The Brewed Abides (for you Big Lebowski fans) and I got a dessert called a Marionberry Buckle which was so unbelievably good! It had some kinda marionberry compote/sauce with a lemony crumble, topped with Tillamook vanilla icecream... heavenly. They were also able to seat the five us pretty quickly on a busy Saturday which I was impressed with. Would definitely check them out again if I'm ever in the area.

Location is depends on where you are staying. Hotels are nearby. Off the 101 hwy path.
Plenty of brews, and service is super quick. Servers can speak brew info well. I would come back any time. Favorite dishes are the Mac n cheese with Dungeness crab or the tri tip plate.
