Excellent! I was concerned because we were visiting the beach with new neighbours. I didn't want to take them someplace that turned out to be dud. It would look poorly on me you know? We were all very pleasantly surprised. Outstanding beer, burgers, salads, and service. We sat on the deck over looking the incredible Pacific Ocean and Chief Kiawanda rock. My only advice, get there before the lunch crowd.

We had already eaten dinner when we arrived, so just wanted to try out the beers. The restaurant is right on the water and our table had a view of the haystack outside. We ordered the beer sampler (7 beers for 7 bucks, plus an additional sample for free!), soup and dessert. The clam chowder was really good and the Marion berry crumble was delicious. It had a lemon biscuit topping that was just delicious. Some of the beers were great and some not so great and our server offered to get us more samplers but we were too full. Great service, good views and amazing dessert.

Here with family for the weekend and had a great lunch at the Pelican! Very family friendly. We were 4 adults and 4 kids, waited 15 min, servers took my stroller and held it in a back room. Got a great table in the big room with ocean view. Many families seated there so we didn't have to worry as much about kids bugging people. Servers brought the kids cups with lids and straws--so simple but a life saver for parents that's often overlooked. Food was great. Delicious chowder. Kids meal salmon that was amazing! Great fries. Overall excellent experience.

The clam chowder, salad, & burgers were fresh, well presented, and delicious. Our server, Reese, was excellent. Beer is a little pricey, but unique and good. Views were fantastic. Definitely worth a try.

We fell in love with The Pelican during our venue tour with Mariah, the Venue Manager! Mariah is quick to respond to emails and Wedding Wire messages, has many years of event managing experience, and knows all of the local wedding vendors in Pacific City and beyond! The Pelican offers many great perks to their couples - their menu options are vast and include gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options - diverse wedding package options for peak and off-season times - and exclusive use of the event room on the day of our event, so you never have to worry about a morning event before your evening wedding! Mariah was not only super helpful during the planning process of my wedding, but served as a day-of-coordinator, managing all of my vendors and ensuring that all of our details came together for our big day! My husband and I agree that The Pelican was the perfect place for our Oregon Coast wedding and we would do it over again in a heartbeat!

Delicious food & beer from great staff at reasonable prices at a gorgeous location! What more could you want? For one of our visits here, we splurged and ordered the grilled salmon and it was amazing! Possibly the best entree I have ever ordered! I wanted to eat it slowly to prolong the taste-experience!

I haven't been in a few years because I live in the southwest now, but I love going there when I'm at the Oregon coast. I was married there in Pacific City and I will always have a good vibe for the city and especially Pelican Pub and Brewery! Good food, good service, great beer and exceptional location.

Great clam chowder, but overpriced at $7.99 for a small cup. I got the 14-hour smoked tri-tip. It was barely warm when it came, cut in very thin slices to make it seem like there was more than there actually was, but what I did get was tasty. It was also overpriced at $24.99. There are many gluten-free options but most of them mean you just get less food. Our waitress, Traci, was great and very helpful. The floor was very dirty from the sand that people track in and the booth seating got very uncomfortable by the end of our visit.

Excellent food, ambience, and service, you can't really ask for anything more, other than to make the root beer available in stores. Best root beer I've ever had! I got a few growlers to go and will be picking up more every time I pass by!

The Pelican features great hand-crafted beer made onsite and a spectacular view of Cape Kiwanda. The food was pricey but good quality. The staff was attentive and polite and it has a patio for ocean-side dining. I do however think they could get some decent patio furniture as they have the cheap plastic stuff that comes from Kmart that lowers the beautiful surroundings a bit to a slightly cheapened feel. I will return again and look forward to that day.

Great view while having a pint or two. Food is ok but the view is awesome! We love the view here. Price for food averaged about $15.99. Even for burgers, kinda expensive! Oh well, life goes on.

Not only is this a great place to check out Cape Kiwanda and take in the views, it's also an amazing brewery with delicious food and awesome entertaining events throughout the summer months making Pelican Brewery the heart of Pacific City. Locally owned and always delicious, I highly recommend catching a sunset here with a pint in hand.

Shelley and I attended the Chamber banquet last night 12/4/2012. We enjoyed the chamber function but more than disappointed with the food served. The salad was so small it took me 3 bites and very little dressing. The Salmon came and was barely warm and the sweet potatoes were cold. I sent back the meal which I had taken 3 bites. The food came back a few minutes later and it was hot but obviously microwaved. The potatoes were chew/mushy and the salmon was dry/chewy but it was hot.
Next came the dessert (ice cream) and the kitchen does not understand portion control because eight people at our table the sizes were all over the board in size. We had to go find a server to get coffee and never came back to ask for refills. We were very disappointed!!

The food is mediocre for the price it costs but you don't have much of an option in this part of town. The Spicy Burger isn't spicy. If you're doing an overnight stay at a beach house, just cook there instead.

There is something going wrong at The Pelican Pub and Brewery. My wife and I have been there and taken friends there many times. But this last time may be our last time for awhile. The service has always been on the slow side usualy because they have been very busy. But this time the slow and lack of service was when the room was not even full. We had to ask for almost everything more then once and we ran out of things to talk about before the food came.
Then came the food. And what a disapointment. Small portions at high prices and a very bad mix of flavors. My wife had a sandwich with strange bread and bad sauce that she picked the fish out of and ate only that and the very good fries. I had the smallest piece of grilled halibut that I ever been served. I have had the dish before and I'm sure it was not that small. It was served with a mound of sticky rice and a sprinkle of veggies. Not at all what we feel has been the norm in the past
My advise is to not go for awhile. I hope that with a few more bad reviews, and they have some, they will take a long look around and make the needed changes.

Very poor and rude costumer service. Despite being a slow day. We were transitioned between 3 servers each with their own (We don t want you here attitude). Servers need to learn basic manners and say you re welcome instead of saying mhm after a costumer says thank you. Also do not try to rob customers $10 at the end of the bill!! Server brought back change after the meal and off course it was short.. After complaining said server replies Oh yea , and pulls out the exact amount owed without even looking at the change he had brought back. This behavior and atmosphere created by the servers really takes away the beauty that this location has to offers. Unless this is how Pelican Brewing Company vets and expects their employees to treat the tourists that come by to support their local economy.

Was served stale fries and questionable fish. At this time we were already skeptical about our food stop selection, and chose not to eat the whole meal. This offended the server to some degree or level with the amount of attitude we received for leaving leftovers behind.

Server(Did not share a name, but is a mid 40 s man with tattoo on right arm I believe) who attempted to take the $10 from the change.

Horrible bar staff made the experience bad. Ignored me and when I finally talked to him he wouldn t help and told me to go stand in a long line to fill my growler. He said he is too busy and others want glasses so he isn t helping anyone.

Honestly not worth the time. We were forgotten in the waiting list, food was forgotten, then sat much too long under heat lamps and dried out. Server was great and deeply apologetic, but many servers were standing around doing absolutely nothing. Food was bland, sadly. Won't be coming back.

Amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and the server was hilarious and great. Perfect way to end our mommas getaway weekend! The view is gorgeous and the weather was great that day even for the coast.

Wouldn't acomidate a group of 7 adults and 2 kids, had to cram in a booth for 6. Poor service, mediocre food at a premium price. Don't get the macaroni or margherita pizza. In a great location, which makes it all the more unfortunate.

Waited two hours because they lost a ticket and all they could say was "I don't know" every time we ask them where our food was. Manager could've cared less. Food was mediocre at best. The only thing it has going for it of course is the view. Overpriced with rude servers.
You have been warned,,, there are better places to eat on the coast. trust me.

We arrived here very late in the evening around 30 minutes before closing, but they were fortunately still advertising being open. We placed an order at the takeout window, paid, and were told it would be around 15 minutes and we would receive a text when it was ready. After waiting 30 minutes with no message, we went to see what had happened. The cook had left after we ordered, the cashier had left, and only the manager was remaining. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for them to make the order and they ultimately gave us the wrong side and also only gave us one set of utensils despite us explicitly asking for two and them verbally saying they provided two sets. Overall very insulting experience and very discouraged from getting food there again.

We would have understood if they had said they weren't taking any new orders so close to closing time but instead they were simply intending to rob us of our money and not fullfil the order.

Their beer is excellent. I had calamari for an appetizer and it was ok. My girlfriend had the fish tacos and she liked them. The service was good. The only thing that left me disappointed was the chef's special ribs, probably the worst ribs I've ever had.

My new favorite brewery. Their flight was great, I loved all of the beers except for the ipa's but then again I don't like ipa's so I'm a bad judge of them. I got the spicy burger which has a grilled poblano pepper on it and crispy onions. It was so good! My boyfriend and I weren't super hungry and we asked if they could cut the burger in half for us and they did and even went a step further and delivered it on two separate plates and divided the fries too. Such great service. The waitress was really friendly and we got a beautiful view of the ocean as well. Highly recommend!
