Got here at 5:45 on a Saturday. They told us a 45min to a 1 hour wait, which we were completely fine with. After an hour we checked back in and they said there were still 8 parties ahead of us and it would be no more than 30 min. After we had waited 2 hours, we still had not been seated. I have never left a negative google review in my life but that was absolutely ridiculous.

I was excited to try pelican brewery! I had heard a lot about it. Perhaps it was mostly my fault for not studying the menu clearly, but there are no gluten free side dishes other than salads. This was disappointing for me as this was a brewpub and I was looking forward to enjoying some fries after a good day at the beach. Additionally, the entrees here are very expensive. I really didn t want to pay $25 dollars for lunch, and I didn t want to pay upwards of $16 for burger that I couldn t fully enjoy.
I understand that I can t expect all restaurants to accommodate my dietary restrictions, but it was frustrating to be offered some options, but neglect to offer some basic options such as a side dish.
All in all, I did not enjoy my brief experience here and will not be recommending pelican to others. More options for dietary restrictions, a cheaper or a happy hour menu, and more knowledgeable staff that understand dietary restrictions would make this a much better restaurant.

Was not impressed. Very $$$$$$ for what you get. Had BLT. 2 pieces of bacon 2 small slices of tomatoes ( the size of silver dollar) and one chard of lettuce. How can you mess up a BLT? Bartender was nice. Will not be going back.

Not only can you find it perfectly crafted beer that will suit your needs. The menu has an Artisan touch that will not leave you disappointed. Not to mention the incredible views of the beach.

Ni real complaints for me! Came in for lunch on a Thursday in March, so probably not a super busy time. Eating alone and they put me at the table with best available view without even asking, which I really appreciate. I travel for work and est alone often and sometimes it feels like they try to hide you at the tiny corner tables or the bar. Was worried I would run out of time before my shift at work but service was lightening fast. In and out with plenty of time. I showed up at 12:15 to a pretty empty place and 20 minutes later the place was full. Food was great. Had a salad and the crab mac. Big chunks of real crab. Great sauce. Friendly staff. My only complaint is they only have fountain lemonade, not the real deal, and sods. They could use better quality non-alcoholic beverages for people like me who don't care for beer in the first place but are also pregnant haha.

Will probably come back next time I'm in town.

Good food and beer options. Service was great. Prices were higher than I expected for pub food, but my wife and I enjoyed our food, drinks, and beautiful view of the stormy Oregon coast and Chief Kiawanda Rock (also commonly called Haystack Rock). The after dinner walk on the windy beach was an added bonus. I wish I was drinking beer and watching the waves at Pelican Brewing right now.

Meh. Beautiful location (obviously). Save yourself some money...grab a 6 pack and some sandwiches, and go sit on the beach. Even if you can afford a $16 mushroom sandwich, I can assure you that the crappy service will make you have buyer's remorse. We went in on a Monday night, at 8ish. I can't imagine what a weekend would be like. And yes, I work in the service industry. I know what it's like to be tired and have an "off day."

Really enjoyed ourselfs here with a great veiw to the beach and tasty beer. We got the chicken lettuce wraps to share and they were pretty good. There is also a very nice gift shop that sells pelican cloths and knick knacks. Our waitdress knew here beer very well!

Would not eat there again.

Would not eat there again.

We had the crab Mac and cheese for $25. Looked like they sprinkled a bit of shreaded crab from a can on top. Very tastless. I've had better Mac and cheese for a quarter of the price at other establishments.

Ordered a flight of beers. Beware that you do not get to pick what beers you get.

Very nice new building but needs TV's, at least in the bar area.

I understand that we had a large party on a Friday night, but it took us an hour and a half to be seated - were told wait times were 30-45min. Once seated, we struggled to order even water. In reading other reviews it sounds like they are always busy. So maybe understaffed? And as a customer, I would appreciate a more realistic wait time.

Absolutely the best place to grab a bowl of chowder and some of the best brews around! Unmatched patio area with views of the gorgeous Cape Kiwanda area and Haystack Rock. Excellent food, service and of course beer!

GREAT..make that amazing location! The no hazy days IPA I ordered was really good. Indoor and outdoor seating available. (see outdoor host (ess)) for seating.
Was busy on a Saturday, so plan on taking your time. Some bar like seating outside looking at the big rock; see pictures.
Ordered a cup of clam chowder and Red pepper & blue cheese burger with fries. Both were good; soup came out at same time as my meal (I'd prefer soup 5-10 ahead of entree)

Whenever a pub won't even put the price of a pint somewhere on the menu, you know you're in trouble! The beer is good, and we enjoyed the food, but it is VERY expensive! The view is, of course, amazing, and if you are staying in Pacific City, it's very nice to be able to walk down the beach to the pub. But $5 for a pint of beer? That adds up real fast.

Ordered Clam cowder at the to go window
10 bucks for a bowl, any place else the serving size would have been considered a cup , very deceiving , even at beachfront prices,
Low on clams as well , tasted ok , but very disappointed!

Overpriced, and the food is not great for what you pay. Basic and bland pub grub for three times the price. They cater for the tourist not the locals. Unfortunately, because they have the best view and not much choice of restaurants around they can get away with it. . Don t waste your money.

Right on the beach which is pretty cool. Ample parking. Service was nice. We just sat at the bar and ordered a tasting flight while we were passing through town. I liked the cream ale. The others were really hoppy which isn t our style, but purely personal preference.

Hostess didn t even welcome us in, not at all friendly! Food is way overpriced! Aaron the server was the only positive thing about this place and a couple other employees. I would NEVER go back here!

The beer is excellent. In fact, the beer by itself is worth coming into Pelican. The food is another story. It's overpriced and hit or miss on taste. I enjoyed my chicken burger and my wife liked her seafood dish. The food doesn't justify the price point. The service we received was excellent. The 3 star rating is based on inconsistent taste of the food and portion size.

Killer view , great beer, and good food. Many reviews mentioned the food was overprice. I stalked the menus of other restaurants in the area before we ate here and the prices were on par with others in the area. We enjoyed am afternoon on the patio watching the waves while the kids played in the sand nearby

The beer here is really good and the choice of beer is very good. However me and my partner have come here about 4 times and 3 of these times we have been let down by there service. Her family have a beach house in Pacific city and have all started to become disappointed with the service and food here. In summary the only selling point is the beer.

My family head an amazing meal with exceptional service. Lyndella was so personal and wonderful--one of the best servers we've ever had. She helped make our dining experience a truly personal, enjoyable one. We wish her a happy 30th anniversary as we share our 25th. And service aside, the chowder was so clammy and delicious. My 13 year old son had the bay clams and was slurping down the broth. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Pelican Brewing did a GREAT thing employing the amazing Lyndella ~ and making a delicious clam chowder. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Gorgeous place, in the best space. Really good dark beer. They need to bring back the oysters though. Only reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it's ALLWAYS PACKED and we seem to always be on a 30 minute waitlist but they manage it really well. They could open up a second one and probably still do well in the area. Good beer and patient service.

Ordered the surfers scramble and the eggs were undercooked. I don't know anyone that likes slimy eggs. Toast isn't very tasty either. Potatoes were bland. I definitely won't be back here. I'll go to sportsmans. The service was awesome and everyone was friendly but the food leaves something to be desired

Fantastic beer, mouth watering food, outstanding service, great location, and a welcoming atmosphere. I discovered Pelican beer while traveling through Oregon a while ago. At my first sip of Umbrella, I knew I had to go to the source. I have visited their Pacific City location multiple times since then and have a wonderful experience every time. Highly recommended.

Great location. Nice selection of beer. Food is overpriced. Had the cioppino, was okay but some of the seafood was overcooked, the octopus was very rubbery, the crab was excellent. For $30 I would have expected it all to be good.

Took the family here. Wait was average. Food was very good. Clam chowder was amazing. Bowl size is enough for 2 people. The wait for the food was not long at all. Staff was very friendly. Prices were normal for the area.

Totally over-rated. Food was mediocre at best. And very expensive for what you get. My tri-tip sandwich meat was cold. Service was spotty too. Great location, but egh for everything else. Google should also change the price to $$$.

Great place to stop while on our Oregon coast road trip. View from the restaurant deck a bit compromised and close to the parking lot, but still worth hanging around for a few and watching the surfers and whales.

We stopped by on Memorial Day Weekend. The Food and service were pretty good, however it was a little bit on the expensive side. One disappointment was that they weren t doing anything for Veterans.

Went there twice this past week. The first time for beer and calamari...the beer was good, cold and the calamari was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was an awesome young man...so personable.
We went back for lunch two days later. Our waitress was rather aloof and unfriendly...my husband had fish and chips. The fish was mediocre at best. The fries were delicious. I had clam chowder. It was a small 'bowl'. It completely lacked flavor...more milk and potatoes that had been thickened with flour than anything. Soooo disappointing.
My take is that this place is trying to get by on their location and the fact that naturally the people are going to flock there. No one has a better location in town. That is really unfortunate. They better get their act together. Their food for the price and location should be absolutely top notch everyday all the time.

Wonderful place! We had dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Both meals were incredible and the view is not too shabby! (Thats an understatement, btw) best part, the stout syrup for breakfast, dip your pepper bacon in it, O....M....G

However, a little overpriced....

Just got turned on to Kiwanda Cream while visiting Sisters, Oregon on a sunny warm afternoon and both my wife and I enjoyed it very much, it was just light enough for a refreshing addition to our lunch.

Breathtaking views, delicious food and beer. Service is always friendly and attentive. They let to you have your dog in the sand while dining on the patio which is AWESOME! Fun merchandise as well! I love that you can put your name in and get a text when your table is ready. Since they have a long wait when the weather is good, you get a chance to walk on the beach while you wait! Mug Club is cool too, get on the waiting list!

I love a good steak, especially smoked. They have a wonderful tri tip 14hr smoked steak. Its so good i dont order any desert i order more steak on the side as my desert. The cream ale is also one of my favorites to drink.

I loved my visit here! The location is amazing- right up on the coast and such a nice restaurant! Our food came out pretty quickly, was excellent, and not terribly priced considering it's beachfront and also specializing in seafood and beer. GREAT selection of beers by Pelican, of course. My only gripe is our wait was on the long side, 45 minutes almost on the dot, but it was a pretty busy Sunday by the looks of things. If you're nearby and got the time, it's a definitive go-to!
