The work as a project coordinator at this company ...

The work as a project coordinator at this company is always changing and therefore always engaging. My co-workers are fun to work with, but always work well both together and separately. Because we don't work on commission like many other staffing agencies, we share tech information to get the techs as much work as possible. Management is always willing to work with you on your hours, and if you earn it you can possibly begin working from home as well.

I have $650+ in expense claims dating back to April, that PEAK SYSTEMS has not paid - or disapproved.

Can't get anyone to give me a straight answer as to what the hold up is.

...and if you want to work for them ANYWAY, better double book yourself, cuz they will cancel a 2 day gig on you without compunction.

Last bit of advice: Even if you're a "Lead" on a project and feel like you in good with one of the recruiters...don't think for a moment she won't drop you just like THAT and won't return any of your contacts (!)

I have worked as a field technician and a project ...

I have worked as a field technician and a project lead for Peak at various big banks around the country. Their staff was great with communication and direction both before and during the assigned projects. I was paid very fairly, in a timely manner, and was treated with great respect throughout the entire staffing process. Overall, Peak is a great company to get your foot in the door for business opportunities in this industry.

I would not recommend this agency.. they are very impersonal and poor with communication.. for starters, they make you complete a *TON* of paperwork (about 10 to 15 pages total) before they even meet you in person, consider you for jobs, or put you on interviews.. we're talking paperwork that you would ordinarily complete only *AFTER* you've been hired and started a new job..

It was several weeks after I completed all their paperwork that they finally put me on one interview for a computer technician position at a major financial institution here in NYC.. they neglected to tell me that I would have to go through very strict building security to get to my interviewer, and they never gave me my interviewer's contact information.. so even though I got to the interview site 10 minutes before my scheduled time, I was held in the lobby by security for over half an hour while they tried to summon my interviewer down.. so I ended up being very late for an interview that I went out of my way to arrive early at, through no fault of my own..

To make matters worse, the position they had me interview for turned out to be very different from the one I applied for (i.e., the one they sent me the job specs and description for).. I had prepared to interview for a completely different position and was caught way off guard by the interviewer's questions.. the interviewer picked up on this and I was made to feel like a fool in front of him..

In sum, my experience with Peak Systems was a wild goose chase and a waste of time.. staffing agencies like these are a dime-a-dozen and you have your pick, so why bother with this one?
