I enjoyed the environment there. The crab dip and chicken avocado sandwich was great. I don't like beer, but they head a drink there, a pilsner and sprite, mixed together which was pretty enjoyable. And I felt the prices were fair.

It's a cool vibe for me - I don't know what was up with, service & such. My tastes run "backwards" on biers, ales, porters, and stouts cronologicly say as in a tried & true recipe from St James' Gate, Dublin same recipe as 200 years before I was born! Sorry.

If you haven't been here and you love yourself beer, then you owe it to yourself to come and check out OMB. First off they have one of the coolest beer gardens outside and biggest beer halls in Charlotte. It's all authentic German style beers and they do their beers up right!

Family and Dog Friendly! There really isn't a venue quite like OMB where kids have plenty of room to run around outside while you enjoy sitting at a picnic table, drinking local beer, and listening to music. Inside and outside has a really laid back feel to it. Also, everything I have had to eat there has been delicious. They don't have a big wine selection though, for fellow wine drinkers. But what they have is good enough.
Our most recent trip there was for their Weihnachtsmarkt event. By the look of the amount of cars and people streaming in I thought it was going to be a madhouse, but their space was more than enough for us to not feel packed in and able to even find a place for 8 of us to sit and hang out at. Definitely a go-to place to get a group together.

This is a great brewery for every occasion. They always have events going on almost weekly. They have a spot outside that is well kept up with. It even has a spot where kids can play which is awesome for a brewery. Everytime I have went in there, the staff is super nice and helpful to me as well as knowledgeable about their menu items and beer selection.

Oldest brewery in Charlotte! The outdoor area is unmatched and the German beer hall vibe is a fun environment. Beer is good if you enjoy German beer, generally not my favorite. They have a lot of really fun events that we enjoy going to.

Staff was kind and on point. Beer was delicious. Only regret is , I wish I could have tried all the beers and food. Every inch of Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is not just clean, but spotless. Will be back again. Wish it was today.

We had such a great afternoon enjoying the beers, wine, and lovely atmosphere. I loved the outside tables and green space. From dogs, to kids, and big kids (adults), it seemed like everyone was having a great time.

Beers are good (esp. seasonal Mecktoberfest), but don't expect crazy flavors or funky styles. Food is usually good, but can be hit or miss if you're looking for dinner. Large location and is typically busy on weekends.

Really enjoyed this place! Authentic German beers and a very cool atmosphere. Would have been five stars but the pretzel I ordered to go with the beers was very dry and hard. Needed lots of the beer cheese to get it down - not a horrible thing but wasn t near as high quality as the beer. Prost!

They brew an impressive array of beers. The atmosphere is German influenced - and they use long tables like they do in Germany. for wine drinkers, they even have a couple of drinkable wines. Good variety of food from appetizers to dinner plates.

Love this place but...
Can't order food from full menu when you are at the bar, can't order takeout over the phone, can't order takeout from restaurant without being harassed about it. Food used to be delicious but it seems to have declined substantially over the past year. Great outdoor beer garten. Beer is unbeatable. Saturday's are always filled with babies and kids, especially on nice days (which is appealing to me, but maybe not everyone).

Echoing other recent reviews. We planned on attending the festival but once got there and saw how many people were packed in the courtyard (most of whom not wearing masks), we decided on 4001 Yancey instead. Instead of owning up to their mistake, OMB has denied any wrongdoing and removing comments and pictures that don't support their narrative.

I had frequented OMB prior to this but I'll have a hard time going back after this experience.

The charcuterie board was tasty. They have a variety of food like sandwiches, pizza, sausages, etc. which I m not sure all fits their German beer garden aesthetic, but whatever. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Try the dunkel for beer, it was pretty good.

Went to meet someone who didn't show but thought I would still enjoy having a beer and a meal. Found an open seat at one of the tables outside (just off the patio), scanned the QR code for the menu and waited to place my order with a server. And waited. And waited. And waited. 3 other tables, whose patrons arrived after me, were approached, orders taken and served. No staff ever asked whether I needed anything.

I left after 30 minutes of no service. Very disappointed.

Love this place! I certainly like trying all the different craft beers that Charlotte has to offer but this is the only one I find myself coming back to over and over again. They ve always got a great selection of seasonal beers along with their year around staples. The food is always great and the atmosphere of a German beer hall is unlike any other brewery in the area. Prost!

Best Charlotte Brewery! Observes the Bravarian purity laws for its creartions, so dont come expecting IPA. Do expect clean and crisp beers that flow easily, one to the next. If in season, try their dunkle varieties.

This place is fantastic.

This place is fantastic.
HUGE outdoor space has given us little reason to hang out inside. Though the inside space offers a huge bar and [it looks like] two private party rooms. The outside is dog friendly, has outdoor games and a ton of seating. There are always events here, like outdoor yoga and they constantly rotate local food trucks throughout the week. There is a small outdoor bar too, so that you are never far away from the German style beer they brew on site. Great beer and a huge outdoor space make sure that this is on the list of places to go in South End CLT.

Enormous, very pretty grounds and buildings. I have yet to be disappointed in any of the beers I have chosen here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Generally seems to be a haunt of young(ish) professionals.

Excellent as always. one of the few places to get a beer that doesn't taste like grapefruit. If you're a hophead quit ruining it for the rest of us, and go somewhere else. Also watch those folks with your credit card, my numbers got stolen twice shortly after eating there. Still we come back, where else can you get a Hungarian sausage?

Best family brewery in North Carolina. The staff is courteous and goes above and beyond to make every visit the best experience you have ever had. Love the taproom and the Biergarten is HUGE! So many great bands and not just a bunch of drunks everywhere. Only for friends and family's that really enjoy having a nice outing. Classy place. Top shelf with no dust.

This place is way too big and you just kind of get lost in the building.

I tend to like a space that is a bit more welcoming. But if you like large places then this might be it for you. The beers were okay nothing to brag about. I'd say good quality beers that are drinkable.

The bar top is pretty big and the interior of the building lacks a distinct personalty.

In general, a nice place to grab a beer if you are in the area.

Quality of the beer is very good - I should know this as a German. I also like the beer garden atmosphere and that you can bring your dog and kids - lots of green. The only downside in my opinion is that the food is slightly overpriced for the quality and quantity you get.

Was that your way of apologizing bc you forgot to apologize for being irresponsible and risking peoples lives. Glad you had to explain the cancel culture and try to get people to feel bad for you.

Cool place with both indoor and outdoor seating. The beer and food are both alright. They have wine as well. There are events here sometimes. The atmosphere and facilities are definitely better than the food and drink available. Parking is terrible on events days. Better to Uber.

About The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery: A World-Class Craft Brewery and Beer Garden in Charlotte

If you're a beer enthusiast, then you must visit The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Established in 2009, OMB is the oldest and largest craft brewery in Charlotte that produces world-class, award-winning beer and serves it fresh to its customers.

At OMB, they believe that great beer starts with great ingredients. That's why they use only the finest malted barley, hops, yeast, and water to create their signature beers. They also follow traditional brewing methods that have been passed down for generations to ensure that every batch of beer is of the highest quality.

One of the unique features of OMB is its German-inspired beer garden. The spacious outdoor area can accommodate up to 1,000 guests and offers a relaxed atmosphere where visitors can enjoy their favorite brews while soaking up the sun or playing games like cornhole or giant Jenga.

OMB's flagship beers include Copper (a Düsseldorf-style Altbier), Captain Jack Pilsner (a classic German pilsner), Mecktoberfest (an Oktoberfest-style lager), and Fat Boy Baltic Porter (a rich dark ale). They also offer seasonal beers like Yule Bock (a winter warmer) and Hornet's Nest Hefeweizen (a refreshing wheat ale).

In addition to its core business of brewing delicious beer for its customers' enjoyment on-site or at home through takeout orders from their taproom or online store; OMB has also become an integral part of the local community by supporting various charitable causes such as animal welfare organizations like Humane Society Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

With its world-class craft beers brewed using traditional methods; spacious outdoor seating area perfect for relaxing with friends over some cold ones; friendly staff who are always happy to help answer any questions about their products or services - there really isn't anything not to love about this fantastic brewery!
