Wow! What a lovely little place. Service with a smile and a fab selection of food. We had a goats cheese dish from the specials board and it was beautiful. Portions are huge too so you'll be full till tea time! Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!

So, we've been going to your Cafe many times over 3 years but today just push our buttons as we've had enough. Firstly your Coffee is not hot, 10 minutes to wait even its only 5 tables occupied and tables are squeezed to one another you cant get in. Sometimes Staff are not attentive. We decided we're not coming there again.

Food portions are ok. I think the lady that was serving us was having a bad day, she wasn't really rude but she wasn't helpful either. It was a cold wet day and although the waitress was lovely, she kept going outside and leaving the door open, to the dismay of several customers. It's was a crowded and cramped place and although we'd been told there was an upstairs, we weren't permitted to use it. I was a little surprised to see window cleaner household chemical being used to clean the inside of the display cabinet which when sprayed can't really have avoided the food. Wasn't impressed when the paper towel was dropped on the floor, where people stood to order but was continued to be used, to do nearly all of the cabinet. On the whole it's good but we won't be in a hurry to return.

Wonderful Cafe and Deli in the heart of Southwell.
Quite small but lovely. They have an outdoor area too which I should imagine is nice in summer.
Staff and friendly and helpful. Food was great. I had a ham chicken and leek pie which was home made, chips were nice too.
They are licensed and serve some great wines too.
It s worth noting they have a function suite too which we attended an event at, again lovely place, great staff and buffet food.
Highly recommended.

Great coffee, great cake, great staff and great company. The staff were very pleasant. Although we turned in with only about 20 minutes left, we never felt hurried or put up on to finish. Will certainly be going back for more.

Good value for money, with a nice range of lunchtime bites (lighter and heavier), as well as an interesting range of deli items to buy. Service was friendly, but seating was a little cramped in what is obviously a very popular place to stop.

What a fantastic place this time seven years ago. An abundance display of locally sourced produce and mouthwatering cakes and a friendly team. Quality choice of delicious foods and one of my favourites. The breakfast. Washed down with a good pot of tea.Comfortable seating inside and outside depending on the weather. You are close by to local amenities in the heart of Southwell and easy parking. Look forward to returning.

a bit pricey and gets very busy as there are not many tables inside. toasted fruit bread has no visible fruit and yet it's delicious... I don't know how they do that? Nice to sit outside and in the cooler days they provide hot water bottles and blankets... very cosy! I recommend.

Went here for a family funeral wake. Lovely venue, could have been warmer on a chilly day, but food delicious. Great sandwiches and cake but proper pork pies were the star of the buffet! Would definitely revisit if we lived nearer.

I don't often give places five stars, however, the Old Theatre Deli is one of the nicest places I have been in a long time. Hearty and welcoming atmosphere, delightful staff and amazing food. My only complaint is the lack of space because it can be very busy, but it is difficult to get space, especially if you want the prime spot in the heart of Southwell. Devastating when it is such a lovely place. Go there every week, always a lovely experience.

Extensive menu, beautifully prepared and served. On cold days, blankets and hot-water-bottles are provided for al fresco dining .....bottles re-filled on request! Overall a good dining experience with a little historic atmosphere thrown in.

Delicious cafe menu with exciting salads, quiches, etc, which are really tasty. Cakes, etc to die for! Staff are polite, attentive and seem really happy to help you. Really nice town centre location with very pleasant seating inside and out, just 2 mins walk from the nearby car park, with first two hours free. Can't wait till I next go back.
