Don't forget to check your car in at the bar to avoid a fine. A decent pub, bright and clean. Lots of TVs around for sports, and a large beer garden overlooking an extremely busy roundabout, which makes for entertaining people watching.

Bobbed to watch Rhinos beat Catalans. Beer is reasonably priced and plenty of screens to watch the game. While I didn't eat, three lads at the side of me did and their food, looked and smelled amazing. The calzone was huge. Good pub to start a Horsforth crawl.

Visited on a quiet, post-lunch, wet Wednesday afternoon.
The staff we friendly, polite and helpful; and although it was quiet kept themselves busy keeping the bar spotlessly clean - always a good sign!
The food options are... a little limited (salad, pasta, burgers or their signature stone-baked 12" pizza) but if the quality of my Sloppy Joe burger is anything to go by then worth popping in again to try the pizza next time.

Parking Charge for a pub who does a bit of food. Staff don t even let customers know about it; yes there are signs around but you don t expect a charge for parking at an average pub, with average food and average staff.

Popped in on a Wednesday lunch time. Great food, loads of choice. Perfect ale and really friendly welcoming staff, clearly enjoy their jobs and were happy to engage in conversation. Nice personal touch. I will definitely be back again soon!

Very good social space - warm, welcoming, plently of room. Looks very tidy and fresh after the refurbishment. Perhaps not the best pub for real ales (normally Doombar, Leeds Pale and Greene King IPA, often run out of them), although there is an adequate choice of tap beers and ciders, again a significant improvement since the refurbishment. Large menu destined to suit many tastes, although pizzas are a little rich in flavour. Staff are excellent, always quick to serve yet still very friendly. Decent prices for the area.

Not been here since it's been refurbished, but wow it has changed. Went in at lunchtime with 2 x 3 year olds. Got told to keep my kids under control, rude staff. Said we should "come in order, eat our meal and go". Poor customer service from a staff member looking like we ruined her day. Have a kids menu so expect kids. It was pretty much dead inside so we weren't causing issues. Kids pizza looked like it came out of a frozen box. What happened to stone baked pizza.
Food average. Not going back, so rude!

Went for a quick bite to eat at lunch time it was very quiet. Nothing special got a shredded chicken wrap looked inside and was more like leftover scraps from Sunday lunch didn't look shredded at all. The chips were just from the freezer and wasn't that cheap! Given a two as the staff were ok

Quality pub good atmosphere and lots of live sport to enjoy. Shame the only negative reviews are about the car park cameras which is not something the pub controls. Although if people just read the signs and type in you re reg you won t get a fine!

This pub looks great and I couldn t fault the food we were served on the two occasions we visited. Unfortunately the great food was always accompanied by a long wait and the service was poor. Staff seemed put out by us, and treated our every request as if we were asking to going off-menu. I hope that the venue can soon find the system and staff it needs to support an otherwise strong menu, making it the place to go for a good night out in Horsforth.

Went for food but we are vegan / vegetarian. They have a huge menu for vegans but most of the options weren't available when we went to the bar to order. Nowhere did it say what time breakfast was served til but turns out we were 3 minutes late for breakfast which removed most of the available food options. Finished our drinks and went to the greenhouse in horsforth for food instead which are more accommodating

POOR food quality. Was excellent when it reopened after refurb but the standard has since dropped dramatically and the presentation is BAD. No tomatoes on Margherita regular, Pizzas are SUPER greasy and MAKE DO INGREDIENTS on absolutely all orders. NO STANDARD AT ALL. Too RICH tasting like oregano mixed heavy with the tomato sauce base. Reduced Pizza sizes. Relish for Burgers comes on a lifeless leaf with poor quality filling and a cheap side dip like a scoop of Morrisons seafood jar sauce. What a shame as it had lots of potential after reopening but like most pubs and Chefs it doesn't take long for them to slack off and rush the food.

Went to Horsforth on Sunday with mrs and to take step son back to University. After unpacking all the gear, we were all feeling a bit peckish, so we decided to give The Old Ball a visit, as is was local to Trinity University. Firstly, had to enter car reg into computer at Bar not to get a parking ticket "different to back in Sunny Hartlepool, but no cost, so problem. I ordered smothered chicken and thrice cooked chips, mrs got a fish finger wrap and same chips and Liam got a Burger with chips. Had to wait a while, but we could see from other orders being served, that this was "home cooked". All our 3 meals meals were very good and the chips a treat. Good pub, with plenty of room at each table for access, with numerous TVs. Pleasant visit to a good pub and will certainly give this place another visit, when next in Horsforth.

We don't come here often but it's been pleasant over the last year when we have. It's got nice open spaces Inside and is clean and tidy. We've enjoyed quiet afternoons, but haven't been on an evening for a long time. There's a pool table and they show BT Sports (which might get get there for an evening actually!). The service at the bar was pretty disappointing on our last visit, but nicely overshadowed by the food service. The menu is small, and not great for me being coeliac, there wasn't anything I could adapt and didn't fancy getting into detailed discussion about options with the bar staff. So I opted not to eat, but my other half chose a pizza and was really impressed- love that they have a pizza oven on site!
