Great service and range.
We used to live in Neutral Bay however we've moved to Manly Area.
Nothing like it up here I'm sorry to say.
We met up with our very very best buddy currently visiting from New York City
We've known each other for over 25 years.

This is a bit of a Sydney institution. A great place to meet up with friends on a hot summers day or even a chilly winters night. Family friendly, although it can be hard to get a pram through the crowd of people here most days.

Decent selection of beverages. If you are feeling peckish you can head to the salad bar or even cook your own steak. After you have had a feed, head on back outside. Find a spot under the historic oak tree and soak in the atmosphere with good company. Serenity now.

I've been to the Oaks a number of times, and having always known what I'm heading there for, it's never disappointed. In summer, the beer garden is a great place to hang out, although the outside bar does not have such an array of drinks as the indoor bars. It's one of the better venues in Neutral Bay to watch sport, and if you prefer less of a crowd when cheering on your team, the important matches are usually showing in the pool rooms upstairs. On a Friday and Saturday night the main room transforms into a dance floor after about 10.30pm, which (given the old school decor) feels a bit like you've crashed a wedding party at a low-budget hotel, but it's great fun nonetheless. All in all, the Oaks is not a pub to take someone for a first date, but if you're there with a few friends it's a fun and unpretentious night out.

Love this place, it's probably one of my favorite pubs in sydney with great food menu and drinks. 2 specious levels with entertainment rooms, gorgeous backyard and so many pool tables upstairs so you don't have to wait 2 hours to have a game.
Lovely place

Nice Irish pub. Spacious with nice food and atmosphere. The ribeye is real nice, the chowder is good as well. The garden is nice and pretty at night time, decorated with all the lights on the tree. We went on a sat night it was a bit busy and a slight wait after order, but still worth it.

We came here because it looked beautiful from the outside, spent $60 for two pizzas each the size of a plate and two drinks. As we proceeded to eat our pizzas I noticed that my vegetarian pizza was topped with vegetables that had clearly been stored in jars filled with oil for some time. The vegetables were soggy and the pizza was dripping with oil. I only had one slice and it made me sick. We told the manager who apologised and offered us free drinks instead. Not reviewing in a bad spirit, I just hope you will rectify this problem. Otherwise The Oaks Hotel has a good atmosphere and polite staff.

The Oaks still has it's lovely oak tree in the garden, covered in fairy lights. A lot of space for food with many different outlets like a Movenpick Marche. Place was packed on Sunday evening after Christmas, lots of young people and families. Was nice to go back after so many years.

I was surprised at how big the venue is, the staff were excellent and the decor of the place gave hints of elegance.

I had a really good night here at an event but with Sydney becoming the city of interesting bars I was left with a sense that the Oaks was missing that gem that would make it special. It needed something to call it's personality.

It was recommended that the wine be sweet and fruity, but it was dry. Male clerk
As for this person, I opened a glass page and asked a bottle even though I asked a question.
I felt upset and didn't feel much detail. If I don't know, I wanted other people to confirm.

When I bought it for the second time, this wasn't my type and it allowed me to try something different. Female clerk

Nutella nut cheesecake is not Nutella but chocolate. There is no cheesecake feeling.
I asked if this was really a product, but it didn't work at all and was slow.

The atmosphere was stylish.

Very large beer garden under a giant light decorated tree makes it the perfect summer afternoon beer and food venue. They have a lot of bars inside which means no long lines to get drinks. One of the only places that also allows smoking in one side of the open area.

After a very unpleasant experience at Firefly down the road my friend and I decide to come here for dinner. The staff were just lovely - kind, friendly, attentive. All round a great experience and the outdoor area is just so pretty. Thanks!

Great place to have a beer. The pub has several rooms/bars and a restaurant. They also allow you to have private events in the rooms located at the first floor, offering packages, pools etc at a reasonable price.

This is my first week living in Sydney and my partner has been raving about this establishment for months, so we decided to go tonight for our first proper night out together. Everything about it was beautiful, and we loved sitting outside under the tree lights. Our cocktails were also fantastic. Unfortunately these were our only high points of the evening as we waited almost 45 minutes for our food, and when it was finally ready it was stone cold, including the chips. I requested an item removed from my steak sandwich as I am allergic but it was left in, and the steak was so undercooked I could only eat half of it. My partner struggled with his Thai salad as it was so heavy on the chilli he couldn't enjoy it at all. Very dissapointing from such a beautiful establishment. We may eventually be back just because we like the setting, but it certainly won't be for a while.

If I could give NO stars I would, this place has terrible service, I paid $45 for my meal and waited 40 minutes just to be told they lost my ticket and then told me the kitchen was closed. The manager was polite but still only offered Me a bowl of hot chips as compensation. I m a hard working tradesman and was really looking forward to my meal. So disappointed in a highly regarded venue

I really like this place!

I really like this place!

The beer gardens have a great vibe, and the giant oak tree in the middle gives the space a unique feel.

The food is always excellent, and the 1.8kg tomahawk steak looks like a wonderful challenge. Drinks are the usual fare for a pub, and are priced at a slight premium.

I've hosted and attended many functions here, and the staff make sure everything is easy.

Happy to call this place one of my regular haunts.

Attended the "Secrets of Steak - Google Local Sydney" night here with a presentation and butchery demonstration by Victor Puharich from Vic's Meats Sydney.

We were treated to three courses of beef from the chefs at "The Oaks Butcher" or "Meatorium" as it is also known. The courses which consisted of Oxtail Soup, Beef Cheeks and to finish off... THE BEST FILLET OF BEEF I HAVE EVER EATEN!!! This was melt in the mouth and was to die for.

Testament to the quality meat provided from Vic's Meats and the cooking expertise at The Oaks. Awesome!!!

Great bar with so many different areas to experience. Downstairs, you have the nice bar for a drink. Out back, an are under the beautiful Oak tree. Upstairs, plenty of rooms for a fun private game if pool. It's just a nice bar all round!
