Beer was good and the service was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable.
The inn was cute, wasn't a big fan of the location: convenient but I was hoping for something a little more off the beaten path. The staff was friendly but the food was just ok, nothing to rave about. Another : the shower only had 1 door when clearly there was supposed to be 2. I asked the front desk and they said that the 1 door was intentional...makes zero sense to me. I did love the fireplace and the timer was a convenient touch
Great beer options and good, fun environment in very old inn.
Wonderful stay! Beautiful and clean rooms. Attentive and kind staff. Definitely worth it!
Nice back pub with a interesting selection of beers
I love fantastic places that are off the beaten path and the Norwich Inn is one of them. They've got clean, comfortable rooms with fireplaces and a cozy pub with their own brewery. The brewmaster is super-friendly and will talk with you as long as you'd like about beer and brewing.
Nice Downton Location. Great service and goid food, but expensive prices
Always a charming escape with great food and a true microbrewery.
The Inn itself is quaint and charming. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. I ate dinner on the patio one evening and my meal was delicious. My room, however, which was on the 2nd floor overlooking Main Street, was lit up all night by a spotlight mounted on the roof of the porch. There are no curtains in this room, only wooden blinds which allow light seepage at the edges and through the spaces between the slats. I did not sleep at all the first night. Had to buy a sleep mask for the 2nd night. While nicely decorated will blinds, the function of the room (sleeping) should have been the primary consideration, not the aesthetics.
Right off the main street, Norwich Inn has great food and drinks. They brew their own beers, including a great red ale. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Great service and a variety of beers available. We didn't eat. They have a nice patio outside as well, but it was too hot to sit outside.
The group dinner and beer tasting were amazing. The old building, the service and the food were all top notch.
Great atmosphere. Good food. Great place for a company function.
Food is truly mediocre. Service is passable. I guess they have some cool beers, but I don't drink so don't care. Recommend going elsewhere.
I only ate in the restaurant, but I had a great time! The server offered a special flight of beer that would allow me to try all the crafts on tap, and I had an incredibly pleasant meal with good service.
Nice place for a work event. Convenient distance from Lebanon or Hanover
Quiet, cozy old world inn and great restaurant. There's even an on sight brewery. We used it as a base for exploring Vermont without any snow.
The Norwich Inn is the perfect quintessential New England spot to enjoy everything that is unique about Vermont.
Stopped in to the bar today with my wife and sister in law for lunch. Food was very good, beer excellent; a very cozy place with excellent service. We will return.
The Inn Keeper, Dave, was an outstanding host, and the Inn itself is top notch but down to Earth. I would recommend to any visitor of Norwich.
Thanks for helping us get those nachos, Dave!!
As a Norwich resident I keep hoping I can get a decent meal. It's like Lucy and the football. for example a 24$ hamburger, up charge fries, up charge bacon, up charge blue cheese . $14.50 Burger almost doubled $24 and change!
Ok, so ill pay if it's a good burger, however in the three (3) I have ordered EACH time ive asked medium and ask for it to be REALLY medium ( this means pink in center folks ) EVERY time I get DRIPPING rare!
I send it back out it EVENTUALLY comes WELL DONE. Add this to other meals that have been at best mediocre, served slow, served cold and its utter failure.
I am a ex chef and was there with another ex chef/owner and when the the breakfast came out ( eggs over easy ) there was a centimeter of oil in the dish we started laughing it was too preposterous! The waitress was put out to take it back and we were left sitting there a long time.
I have been ripped off too many times
One of the bartenders acts like a neanderthal with no manners , just surly. He has one name for everyone "BUD"
How hard is it to make decent food and serve with a smile evidently the Norwich inn has NOT GOT THE FORMULA.
And I ASK YOU .. you advertise dining room and pub hours ... you saY open until 9 PM but you shut some nights 830 others 9 with no pattern ...
Not enough business to keep Kitchen open?
Does anyone wonder?
For a small inn that is trying to appear classy, they should ensure their staff is friendly and classy as well. I went in to the bar section for drinks. I have the beer passport and was planning on having dinner and drinks and get a stamp on my passport. When we went in and sat down, I asked the bartender if he would do flights. His response, "if I have to." I sampled a beer and then ordered a glass of it as did my partner. The bartender only came back with one beer. He never spoke to us the entire time. I ended up just finishing my beer and we left to go somewhere else for dinner. I will never be back here.
I love the Norwich Inn! It is quaint, and cozy. The rooms are the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, and I travel quite a bit. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to my next trip to Vermont, this is where I will gladly stay again!
Perfect lunchtime menu, service, and atmosphere. Food was excellent (get the Cheddar Burger) and the beer was just right.
Quaint little inn with a wonderful pub and restaurant... Nice selection of craft beer (whistling pig is a solid red ale), friendly staff, and a porch where you can enjoy your drink in a nice rocking chair.
Dog Friendly and located near Dartmouth College, Woodstock Vermont and King Arthur Flour is less than 5 minutes away. A great location to explore the surrounding New England towns or to take a cooking class. Thank you to the Norwich Inn for being dog friendly!
Great drinks from the bar and great conversation in the lounge, a very upscale but comfortable experience
Very cozy. All the workers were polite and welcoming. Food was delicious
Quaint boutique hotel less than two miles from Dartmouth's campus. Beautiful porch with rocking chairs and pretty grounds. Breakfast is average.
Great hotel in beautiful Norwich, VT just a few miles away from Dartmouth College across the river.
There are rooms in a B&B style Inn as well as more traditional hotel rooms in a new addition. Great food (burgers/salads) and an on-site micro-brewery make this a perfect place to kick back - no need to worry about where to go for dinner.
On top of all of that - the Inn is located just a few miles from local hiking trails and next door to the locally famous Dan & Whit's General Store.
Great experience staying here for the night. Very accepting of hikers even with all the stink. Checked in with the very friendly staff and then had a few delicious beers after. Can't say enough good things about this place
It was a quaint establishment, giving off a nice New England atmosphere
Hosts were friendly, room was very comfortable and clean, excellent overnight experience!
Nice, quaint inn. -1 star for the huge amount of noise in the tavern 2 floors away that kept our toddler up late.
I drove down, and my brother drove up from southern N.H. to meet for a couple of beers and lunch.
I had a couple of 2 Patrick's Stouts, and my brother had a couple of Scotch Ales, all of which were excellent.
I had the Cheddar Burger w/ fries for lunch, and my brother had the Whistling Pig Burger.
For a $14- burger, the Cheddar Burger was not very good. It wasn't a big burger, it was under cooked for the medium that I requested, it didn't have much cheese, and the bun was terrible.
My brother's $16 burger was, he told me, the same. Too small, cheap roll. and just not worth the money.
Also, the bar tender was calling everyone "Bud", which got oldafter a while.
In summary, we wouldn't go back for the food, but the beer was good.
I visited the Norwich Inn for a business meeting. We met on the lovely farmers porch and went into the dining area for our meeting. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere superb!
Room was beautiful and nice. Drinks at the bar very tasty. Continental breakfast good high quality food
We had a family reunion with 23 adults and children attending for a long weekend. The Staff at the Inn were absolutely fantastic! They arranged a reception for 35 on Saturday afternoon and a family sit down dinner on Sunday evening, both without any problems. Gracious and attentive. Our rooms were spacious and clean. Would recommend the Inn without hesitation.
Service is good, pub fare is good (burgers, etc.), dinner plates are mostly underwhelming...especially for the price point.
I went yo the bar area to sample some of the beers they brew. Excellent experience all around.
Wonderful experience in a beautiful room. It was nice to have a cold beer on the porch.
Mediocre to poor beer and food. Survives as it's the only game in town.
Lovely hotel with nice drink and food. Would stay there again.
Nice room with upscale feeling. Super friendly staff.
There for a birthday party and it was lovely. The staff was attentive, efficient and kind.
The lobby and dining areas are charmingly relaxed and antique.
The beer was good, the food not so much. I started with a Caesar salad- $8- and it was a few leaves of lettuce cut into squares, with four croutons on the side. I ordered Paella and I received a mound of starchy white rice with chunks of seafood mixed in, and four overcooked mussels around the edge. That cost $24.
We waited 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and I left after we'd waited another 30 for dessert. It was Wednesday night and the place was maybe two thirds full at the peak.
I may go back for a beer but not food.
Great time at the Norwich Inn tonight! Our server, Morgan, took great care if us and my Salmon was cooked perfectly! The risotto was excellent too. See you again soon!
The Norwich Inn is a lovely place to host an event. We were there recently to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday and everything was great. Excellent atmosphere, yummy food, great service.
Good food and cute little place. Very nice dinner.
Beautiful room and good food. Understaffed and not very knowledgeable front desk.
We stopped in for brunch and a beer at the brewery. The place is adorable. The people are friendly. I was so happy with my breakfast sandwich. We then enjoyed a beer under the hops!
Very nice, love its history.. thought it would have fridge or microwave but thats extra $s. Love the staff, they were very nice and helpful. Clean rooms. Great beds/mattress!
Great food! Great beers! What more could you ask for?
My friend and I stayed here after a long weekend on the Appalachian Trail. The staff was very friendly, room was very comfortable, the restaurant has excellent food and drink. Would highly recommend.
Came for a week to attend classes at King Arthur. Great service, friendly sraff, modern and clean rooms.
Nice, non-corporate feel to the hotel. Attached restaurants have good service and food as well.
