Me and My Husband stayed here and while the breakfast was a bit expensive for our taste we just got coffee and free fruit the Front staff were so polite and genuinely nice . The wine and cheese Hour is nice to talk catch up about the day or even just read a book down in the lobby area. The Rooms were updated and were clean , the floor lamp was broken and needed replacing . Clean bathrooms and beds that were comfortable . I had no complaints . We would go back again , the only thing is that there is no security and no free continental breakfast of some sort for people who don t want to spend $12 for breakfast .

Terrible place. Too small and not family friendly. After a 15 hour drive with my family they let me unpack several luggage from my car and set it up in the room only then to tell me they could not accommodate me. Also their site said they had valet but also upon arrival told me at 11:30pm that I had to find my on parking. Absolutely did not like it!!!

The place looks better online. The room is small and smells strange. The door was already open to my room when I first arrived. There's no microwave. The room is pretty warm with ac set to Max. The wall the headboard of my bed was up against must have been the same wall the kitchen shared because I could hear the hotel staff banging pots around and having conversations all night long. Hard to sleep

I had booked this hotel 2 months in advance and had a large group coming with me, 12 people. So they should have been ready for us. They were not. Let me start with the parking. There is no sign that says Valet Parking and the gate was open, so we drove down and tried to park ourselves. No wonder they don't want you parking! There is very little room and it's so tight that I bumped my van. And then they yelled at us for parking ourselves when there was no attendant there to help us. As far as the rooms go,the best they could offer us was 2 single rooms and a double that didn't even have a properly working door. It would no longer read the magnetic keys so we wouldn't even have been able to get into our room without the help of the staff. With 12 people! They didn't even offer us anything for not being able to accommodate us and their manager, Charlie Wientjes, was personally offended when we were rightly not happy with the rooms. So unprofessional! We ended up staying at the Hilton Garden Inn closer to the White House, where we had a fantastic time! Never stay here. They would only give us a half refund too for all of our trouble.

Very intimate, gentle atmosphere. Stuff are the best part of hotel, as it should be. Rooms are clean, bathroom has all necessitates. Every afternoon is a Happy hours when you will find cold wine with cheese and other little things in the lobby. Nothing is problem. I felt like on summer holiday in the aunt's house.

First of all I must say that the location of the hotel is within walking distance or a short drive to over 170 Embassies, restaurants, the zoo, the National Mall. The staff at the hotel was friendly. The best part of the room was that we had camouflaged windows. I have never experienced this before. This made our stay here unique.

Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. But the TV didn't work right, the toilet didn't flush and the refrigerator wasn't cold. The room was resplendently clean and beautiful, the bed was fantastic, and the bathroom was marbled and beautiful. Cell signal from Verizon was poor in our room.

Great price and great location for tourists visiting DC. Short walk to a variety of restaurants and bars. Close to the metro system which will cheaply take you anywhere you want to go. Located in a nice area of town. They offer valet parking for $35/night, no need to worry about your car. We are enjoying our stay so far.

This place is utter garbage! I booked this place through Expedia it was a huge mistake. The minute we got there the rooms were dirty and dusty. It looks like this place doesn t follow the covid protocols. I didn t even stay longer than 10 minutes and checked out. The management seems like they really need the money because they did not refund me. Disgraceful establishment and I do not recommend staying here! There s way better 4-5 star hotels here that you can get for the same price. The manager Nigel is a cheap stake!!

Kind staff. The place itself is a bit old fashioned and could use some additional renovation. It's clear that updating is in progress so that's good. Needs a new elevator, updated lighting. The bathroom in our room was nice. No bad smells, free wifi. This is a pleasant place to stay.

Decent as a hotel, the room is spacious, the bathroom is comfortable. The negative notes are talking about the bed, a little too soft with a tendency to create a hole in the middle, and the air conditioning, which makes too much noise and you can not adjust easily. Furthermore, there is the lack of a dresser for clothes. For the rest, the area is very beautiful, the metro is 600-700 meters away, there are many restaurants within walking distance.

I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying in DC. Comfortable, furnished rooms, excellent customer service and the staff was very helpful it being my first trip to DC. I never felt like the service was off in anyway and they have great recommendations for things to do.

I would definitely book again! I stayed 2 nights in July for business. It was a clean and welcoming building with some old charm to it. I liked the design of the room. I had my car with me and thankfully found street parking (weekend). There was also breakfast, much needed when traveling alone and on a schedule. Nigel the AGM was there when I checked in and there when I checked out. He was professional and personable, you can t ask for much more!

I have been to DC many times; however, this past weekend was my very first time staying at the Normandy Hotel. The hotel is tucked away in Kalorama Heights, a quiet, laid-back residential area, right outside of the popular Dupont/Logan Circles and Adams Morgan District. This is a huge plus, if you enjoy the nightlife scene and a wide-variety of food restaurants. My stay was alright, but it could have been much better. All of the staff members are very professional, nice, and genuinely care about your visit. The property is maintained and you can tell that actions are being taken and some measures are in place to ensure that guests/visitors feel comfortable. When I got to my room though, I noticed that the nice coffee machine doesn't work properly and the toilet stays clogging up with very slow flushes. My last complaint would be that the room gets very hot! I kept my window open the entire stay to keep cool, fresh air circulation. If you have allergies or are bothered by really warm room temperatures, I would reconsider booking here until management gets a handle on the issues mentioned because it is completely UNSAT! The rooms are nice and cheap, but you get what you pay for just like with anything else. If you can afford a nicer hotel and have the funds to do so, I'd recommend staying somewhere else with less headaches/worries and enjoy your time in DC!

A nice, small hotel in a convenient location - 10 min walk to DuPont Circle, 15 minutes to Woodley Park metro station, where you can find a lot of great restaurants (Afghan, American, Indian, Mexican). Friendly staff was helpful. No complimentary breakfast but you can get one for $14 which seems high but maybe not for the area. Parking is $40/day and they fill up (no spots left when we arrived so we found a garage half a mile away that was cheaper). The room is small but came with a large, comfy bed and a mini-fridge and a nice bathroom with walk-in shower. Good value for the money given the area.

lower end hotel/ does not have AC if the season is still considered cool because they will not convert from heater to AC even if you room is warm. They tell you to open the windows but then you get the cigarette smoke from the courtyard in front of the motel not to mention the noise.

I was very disappointed. The reservation dept kept me on hold for 15 mins to make a reservation. Then when my guest arrived, the elevator was not working and he had to walk up five flight of stairs to get to his room. Once in the room he decided to lower the temperature and the thermostat fell of the wall. Not a happy camper.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room, but we found a roach in the shower. In return, they compensated our valet parking for one night. However, the hotel parking staff just parked our car on the street for the "free" night. Overall, the stay was decent, and the location was close to many restaurants on Connecticut Avenue. Uber usually costs $4-8 to main attractions.

Excellent small boutique hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff on a quiet street walking distance from Dupont Circle. Two complementary Waters in the rooms and ESPRESSO MACHINES IN EACH ROOM !!! Heaven for Europeans in America. I highly recommend it, worth the acceptable cost anyways.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The decor is absolutely beautiful. If you like small boutique hotels in quaint accessible neighborhoods then this is the place to be. The deluxe queen was cozy and clean. The bathroom was very nice. My only con is they are doing some work in the front and my Juliet balcony was obscured by a painting scaffold and I woke up to construction going on next door. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I will be back preferably when it's warmer!

The guests staying nextdoor were loud and the mattress has definitely experienced some wear and tear. Otherwise, it met our beeds of being a good budget find. Parking is tricky and the coffee machine was out of commission but staff were helpful in trying to improve our experience.

Good service and comfortable rooms. Great location, as there are many good restaurants nearby, but far from the subway. And parking is paid outside which is a problem in the city. Great neighborhood! In the absence of a gym we were entitled to use a gym on the street. Good!

I don t know how they get away with charging this much for this place. The amenities are terrible, the breakfast is minimal and not very good, the WiFi is slow, the room is very small, no pool, the ice machine is only on the 3rd and 6th floor which means being on the 1st floor I have to run all the way up each time, it s basically in a neighborhood and not a fancy hotel at all. I would ve rather paid the extra $30 a night for the Marriott up the street.

Beware - this hotel oversells pre-paid rooms! I made a reservation and paid over a month in advance. I checked in online 24 hours in advance. Then I received a call as I was on my way to the airport saying that they didn't have a room for me! After going through all of the information about where I would stay instead, I later got another phone call and email saying someone else had cancelled, so I could have a room. Ok fine, but I think this is a lousy business practice, and it's a hassle. If you're getting paid whether the person shows up or not, you should NOT double sell the room. This was my fourth and final visit. Last time the AC didn't work. This time there were all sorts of problems with noise from the street and the room next to me, broken lights, broken coffee pot etc. And the staff doesn't care if you leave angry. There are other hotels on this same street with which I have had a positive experience- try the Churchill, the Washington Hilton, or the Courtyard.

Very disappointed in the hotel. It is not well maintained and is very dated.
Temperature is controlled by the hotel, either the A/C is on, or the heat is on. You do not have a choice. The room was 85 degrees when I arrived. No air conditioning was available. Their solution was to open a window to the warm humid air outside. This was not just my room, we had three rooms booked and all had the same issue.
Rooms are small and dark. Only two small ceiling lights in the bedroom. The light by desk did not work and they couldn't fix it. The closet shelf and clothes bar were broken and tilted down, so the closet was unusable. Again, they could not fix it.
The big flat screen TV is above the desk. If you plan on working with the TV on, forget it.
Bathroom is extremely small with NO countertop, only a sink. No place to set any of your toiletries.
All in all, I was extremely disappointed in the hotel. The staff are very nice, but unfortunately are not able to fix the issues. The hotel is very small and dated, but they charge rates as if it were a nice hotel. I travel frequently and stay at many hotels, but this is the first time I have felt compelled to write such a negative review.

Very attentive and professional staff up front. We asked if they would hold our bags after we checked out. They did without question and pulled them back out for us when they saw us walking up to the door. Room was admittedly small but very well decorated. Modern bathroom, Nespresso machine, large window, and VERY comfy bed. It's within a relatively reasonable walking distance to the White House and Washington Monument, and a short cab ride to any of the other big landmarks, even in traffic.

We were prepared to like this hotel. It has the vibe of a small European hotel in a convenient location. The hotel computer was down when we arrive and the manager couldn't find a clean room for us so we checked our bags and returned after dinner. Our first room was the deep freeze with a thermostat stuck on 64 degrees. Our second room had wet carpets. Our third room had a non-functioning AC and a light fixture hanging from the ceiling.
On a positive side, the rooms were newly renovated and the decor attractive.
Other than the manager, I found the hotel staff indifferent to the problems we encountered.
The $12 breakfast was sparse, better could be had at the 7-11 two blocks away.
Overall, a disappointing stay.

Our room wasclean and nicely decorated. Shower was super hot. One light in bathroom was out. Nespresso machine worked great. Heater Also worked great. Non-existent customer service. We haven't needed them but they seem neutral and uninterested in going above and beyond. They didn't engage in conversation or really welcome us, tell us about the city, places to eat and stuff like that. Also, toilet paper is akin to soft sandpaper and does not properly cleanse the lower regions.

I've stayed with them 4 times in total in the last year. Now, there are a few cheaper options around town, and there are certainly a many more expensive options, but no other hotel in Washington DC will give you the level of service The Normandy Hotel does. They genuinely want to make your stay with them great. They have gone above and beyond each time I've stayed.
