The best thing about the hotel is the location if you like being in the center of Manhattan next to the most tourist attractions. There are many sizes of rooms for the same price so it depends on how lucky you are to get a bigger or smaller one. The hotel is huge and I think it lacks a bit of maintenance but overall it is fine. In the area where there is a lot of security and they only let people who are accredited with their card through the room area, which is very safe. We were very helped by the lobby staff to find the best connections to go to the airport and to the various attractions. It is a good hotel although a little expensive.

Location was awesome walking distance to MSG and Penn Station so that is a plus to see a show, room was very small, but clean, price was reasonable, no view from our room. Staff was nice, elevators quick not a very long wait at all. 3 Restaurants on site is a plus.

Nice view from the 40th floor's tower suite. Swift service when we needed extra towels and had a TV remote that was defective.

Raechel at the front desk checked us in professionally and with a friendly smile!

Bathroom on the small side; sofa sleeper better than the DC Embassy Suites one according to the kids.

24/7 Tick Tock Diner simple but very convenient for late night snacks or breakfast on the weekend.

Would stay here again. Family friendly hotel in a great location.

Last November we stayed at The New Yorker Hotel during our first trip to NYC! Everyone and everything was absolutely amazing!! From start to finish!!! I had a bit of anxiety when it came to elevators and they had originally put us on the 20th floor. I wanted to switch to a lower floor (my mum was a bit frustrated and didn t want to go through the trouble of asking it had been a long day of travel but I insisted.) the concierge was amazing!! Moved us to the 7th floor, allowed me to take the staff stairs and totally understood and validated my feelings. Although being in NYC I did have to get over that fear real quick! Two days into our trip I was totally fine with elevators. The service we got in that moment of need was phenomenal! Also we LOVED the doorman Hector!! He totally had the whole stereo typical NYC Home Alone 2 doorman vibe going on! We loved him and even took a picture with him!! We re all from Scotland so he recognized the accent and EVERY morning when we left the hotel he d yell at our group Hey Scotland!!! Have a great day!! In a very thick New York accent! Honestly this hotel is just phenomenal! So clean, really gives the vintage classy NYC vibe! Love it! We re heading back this December and have already booked our room at The New Yorker!! We will always stay here!! Looking forward to the experience again and seeing Hector The Doorman!! Also the location is phenomenal!! We literally walked everywhere!!! And the New Yorker is so close to everything!!!!

Very run down... dirty torn carpets, banged up hallways dim lit, 6 elevators and it took 5minutes to arrive at my floor at 3am. Had to change room twice, first shower head was not spraying water powerfully shower head gunky black and geeen, 2nd room AC not working well. 3rd room ok. Rooms are small thats fine but they dont look clean everything looks very worn out

Rude stuff who is not explaining the charging fee on the credit card, so you left a bit surprised. The photo on the official website are fake/modified to look better and the rooms bigger. It is so so clean. They charge you for everything even when you just drop your bag there at the last day for a few hours cause you have a late flight. I never saw this in any other hotel. Don't go there

Nice big rooms with three closets! We had the double full size beds. The sheets were very stiff and scratchy. We were by the janitors storage so it was rather noisy. Bathroom was pretty big but the roll away shower was awful water splashes almost all over the entire bathroom. You have to take a towel and mop the bathroom floor after you shower or you might slip and fall. The fancy sink was not very deep and splashed all over. The lobby is beautiful and looks very upscale but the walls and carpet could have used some help on the floor we stayed on. The room we stayed in was very clean, but we did see one roach crawling around near an elevator waiting area. Our room faced the back of other buildings but view looked very peaceful.

The decor you would find straight out of the Great Gatsby. Was probably extremely grand in it's heydays but is extremely dated now. Could use a lot of updating. Service was quite spotty. Some staff member seems to be completely dedicated to their jobs. Others don't seems to know what's going on, or care for that matter.

Quality is consistent, but the building is old and the rooms feel like time has been turned back 15 years. It really has an air of old new york and some might not like it but i appreciate the rustic vibe.

Nice entrance hall, hotel well-groomed to old. Staff very friendly including control that only guests have access to the elevators. Central and not for people who have peace of mind while falling asleep. Very noisy and the windows simply glazed.

Definitely not worth the money. The only good thing about this hotel was the friendly staff and the clean rooms. For what we paid, our rook was tiny. Big enough for a full bed (even though we booked a queen) with about a foot between the edge and the wall, and a tiny desk with about a foot between the bed and the chair. The bathroom was so tiny if you sat on the toilet your legs sat against the door. No bathroom nor bedroom storage, not even a cabinet. The shower rotated between burning your skin and freezing it even when you didn't touch the faucet. Our first morning there, we woke up to the lovely sound of our neighbor's morning *ahem* because the walls were so thin. The only thing that saved this trip was the friendly and helpful staff.
Edit: I found out that on may 29th they charged my card for a $30 per night "facility fee" that I was not made aware of. I was told this facility fee covers the gym, business room, telephone access, and WiFi. I used none but the WiFi, and was told during check in that was free. Don't offer someone a free service then charge them for it. I ended up making my way to a supervisor who, after arguing with me, refunded my money. Which is why I'm leaving the two stars.

The location is great but the hotel is in desperate need of a make over. The rooms are way smaller than the pictures on the site make out. There is supposed to be an option for a rollout bed at an additional cost but there just isn't any room for it. The washroom had been painted over but was peeling and the dry wall showed water damage.

Location is very good with Times Square at a walkable distance and lots of restaurants around the area. Rooms are fine but they don't have microwave in the room. The bathroom door is pretty narrow, so plus size people will have trouble getting in. They also have a luggage room.

We had a brilliant stay, upon checkin Mohammed was very friendly and helpful. He really made us feel welcome, even called our room 5 mins after check-in to check that everything was OK.
Great location, opposite Penn station and close walking distance to everything.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Mattress and pillow were super comfy.
Will certainly stay here again.

We are a family of four, our kids are aged 9 & 7. We really enjoyed our stay at the New Yorker and would definitely stay here again. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room with 2 double beds was very comfortable and had a view of the Hudson river. We especially liked the location in the heart of Manhattan, great for sightseeing and shopping. We looked forward to breakfast everyday at the diner Tick Tock! Look forward to our next trip!

While the staff was nice, the hotel charges mysterious "Facilities Fees" after check out. I was not notified of these fees until they showed up on my credit card statement. When I called to inquire my calls (5) were not returned. eventually I spoke to someone named Zenon Lis from accounting who was rude and insulting that I didn't see a small sign at check in to notify guests of the fee.

Very well located, although there are no good places nearby to have a healthy and delicious breakfast. For this you have to scroll a little. Comfortable and clean facilities. I recommend it.

This hotel is in a good location, but I wouldn't stay again. It's steps away from the ACE line and right next to Madison Square Garden. The hotel rooms were very small and very dated but seemed clean. The showers like to alternate between hot and cold water without warning. The noise from the hallway will wake you up in the morning. You can hear everything going on. You have to pay $30 to have a small refrigerator brought to your room. If you want your luggage held before your flight, it's $5 per piece of luggage. I've never been at a hotel that charges it's guests to hold luggage. The staff were friendly except for the Taxi stand guy who judges your choice to take an Uber. He must get a kick back if you take a Taxi.

Room was large and spacious with a 1920s vibe. Two bathrooms, two double beds, a television and free use of a coffee machine. Clean bedding and towels. Security, though excessive, is much appreciated and makes guests feel very safe. On location diner with cheesecakes larger than my head. Friendly staff and central location with a subway station at the front door. Couldn't be better for a New York stay.

Because it has little service one leaves the room and does not allow him to enter the public bathroom and charges to store the luggage. The beds that charge for 3 people are only individual 1 20cm wide

Nice lobby. Rooms are basic. No coffee or tea in rooms. Beds are comfortable. You are able to easly adjust temperature. Hotel is old but clean and designed in a classic style. Great location. Close to restaurants and stations. They have limited WiFi.

I haven't even stayed here yet and the service has been amazing. We had to cancel our reservation due to COVID19 and their staff has been over the top helpful and accomodating. Thank you Neida and your team for taking such great care of us. We can't wait to visit you later this year for our anniversary. I know it will be worth the wait!
