For the most part the employees were very friendly and as nice as they could be given the rules they were given by upper management. Plus paying $100 a night for what you get is a fair price. So the No housekeeping rule was put in place before covid but then charging us a high resort fee makes no sense and is just bad business.
The food was horrible at the pool and at the restaurant. To be charging high resort pricing but serve cafeteria food is disappointing. The menu options were poor, there was no coffee shop open at 7am in the morning so we were told to walk to the hotel next door to get coffee. That is money being taken away from this hotel which is poor management.
The bathroom in the room need to be cleaned better, there was black hair in our sink and on the floor. And the shower handle didn t work, had to call maintenance to fix it.
The carpet in the room is all stained and damaged, management should find the budget to replace all the carpets or professionally clean them. There was no blankets on the bed to sleep with, they only provided us with thin sheets, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. A lot of these issues I feel fall on upper management and that this hotel isn t getting the support they need. I ve stayed here in the past and it was such a great experience. But that has gone down hill with the new Timeshare management. After staying here this week I will never stay there again. The company should state on their website that this is a timeshare so people know when booking.

Make sure to use . when booking any resort. This site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you for sure will love it I'm sure!

Fairly close to the beach if you re into that. The food from the restaurant downstairs was tasty. The room was comfy, pool area was a bit tight. However, staff was prompt to send up new sheets and towels as per request. Overall, would recommend, prime location.

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel but the entire time I encountered disappointments. The business center was not friendly for remote workers. They played very loud music and when I asked them to turn it down no action was taken. Our shower door did not shut properly and flooded the bathroom. Our toilet kept flushing and we needed to call maintenance. When I sat by the pool to take a meeting, I was interrupted by the hotel staff, although I was clearly speaking and wearing noise cancelling headphones. The second time I sat at the tables the next day, the hotel staff kicked me off because you could only sit there if you were ordering food, although there were 10+ empty tables. My friend and I were also reprimanded for eating an acai bowl on the pool deck which was not from the hotel restaurant. I'm extremely disappointed by the lack of very basic standards and respect for the guest. Furthermore, by the lack of a hospitable environment for business travelers. I did not feel welcome.

Had an appointment with Billy Hodge in sales. Have always wondered what the draw was for their clients. The place is different, let's say contemporary and elegant. I enjoyed the energy I found there during my brief visit today. Aloha!

For price and quantity it's very nice! Rooms are modern clean. Don't have a ton a character but that's fine. Being in the middle of a very busy area for shopping is nice.

Nice rooms if you have a time share with them. Regular rooms are nice but don't compare

I am currently staying at the Modern and I would say it is far from a 4-star hotel. The hallways are so dimly lit, the entrance is tiny, and to top it off they charge a $40 resort fee per night but DO NOT offer house cleaning. When I asked what the fee covered they said pool and the room amenities such as coffee and water. I asked for water and they said they were all out! Honestly a rip off for what you re getting. I recommend staying at other hotels in the area for a better experience and a resort fee that is actually worth it.

Our last stay at The Modern was in 2017 and the place has rather deteriorated since then. Here are the "highlights":

- The patio furniture is rust-covered
- Room furniture shows signs of tear & wear
- Our shower head was covered in crusty mineral buildup
- The lounge furniture is absolutely filthy (why would you go for white cushions?) and thus unusable. You will still be charged resort fees (dispute w/ your financial provider as as "Services not provided")
- No in-room hotel service (COVID-19 used as an excuse)
- No robes
- Aggressive sales people in the lobby that are trying to push you tourist packages
- Dimly-lit hallways & elevators (is this to cover things up?)

In short, don't recommend staying here even if you're tempted with discounts.
