The Mere Golf Resort & Spa Review

Rooms are nice and big with a luxury feel. Meal we had was very good in Browns and breakfast in the morning was good quality. The service from all the staff was excellent and couldnt help enough. I do think that the cleaners need to look up as i noticed very large cob webbs hanging from the cellings and lamp shades in several areas of the hotel including the resturant which I didnt expect from this hotel. But over all an enjoyable stay.

Really beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and helpful would highly recommend for any occasion, food was beautiful at the club lounge great atmosphere.

This place knows customer service. Everywhere is clean and tidy. The restaurant is outstanding and the staff are amazing.

Came for my daughters 21st the treatments were fabulous and Michelle and her team really looked after us in the restaurant. The service was 1st class and the afternoon tea was one of the best we have had - thank you for making Emily s birthday so special

Golfed 18 holes. Beautiful course but loads of sand traps. Spent a lot of time in sand.

Lovely relaxing day with two treatments. Heated floor around the pool, Jacuzzi and various types of steam rooms. The only down side was no hot tub. But overall very good!

Lovely hotel and staff were all friendly and efficient. Made you feel special. Room was very spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. Views over the Mere lake perfect. Food and wine choices very good and the bar has a long list of choices.

We went to the Mere for a Christmas party with our grandchildren overall it was excellent a couple of minor issues but that's only to be expected at such a large event the main thing is that the children loved it and we will go again next Christmas

Gorgeous hotel and spa. Had an overnight stay, spa treatment and evening meal. Food was delicious and spa treatment was great.

Some of the resident local guests were a little bit snooty but was a nice place to visit.

Some lovely grounds on site but unfortunately a lot of them are restricted for only golfers.

It is located in the south-western outskirts of Manchester, close to the town of Knutsford. As the name suggests, this resort hotel is located on a prestigious golf course, and the rooms overlook the course and the pond.

There are tennis courts, a gym and a swimming pool, and the restaurant has great views and you can also sit on the terrace in summer. Just last night there was a game against England vs Croatia in the Football World Cup semifinals, and a large screen TV was placed outside the restaurant, and many people watched enthusiastically.

The customer service is solid. The building is three floors low and the rooms are very spacious and clean.

The room is equipped with a safe, iron and ironing board, refrigerator (free mineral water (1 bottle of carbonated water and 1 bottle of each), tea and coffee milk only), tea, instant coffee, biscuit and slippers. Also, the room I stayed with was only a shower without a bathtub, but I personally do not care. There is also free WiFi.

It's too much for me to always stay at work (related to the neighborhood), but I'm sure I can feel really at home relaxing.

Excellent meal, served by a very efficient and friendly young lady called Holly. The staff at reception were very welcoming and polite, and the whole experience of our evening was wonderful. Great cocktails too !
We will be back again to enjoy the atmosphere.

Nice friendly atmosphere, stay here for work nice to relax and chat to the locals.
Great spa and small gym but with all equipment, best part is you can call through for pool beers, amazing after a sauna.
Staff also are great especially the night manager who looks like he should be in John wick (big man, big beard).
Nice breakfast starts early which is great for us early starters, so thanks to night manager, Levi and Sue and the rest of the staff for making it a friendly stay.

Comfy bed and a roomy room, beautiful location. We enjoyed the spa treatments; aroma steam room, salt infusion, sauna and calarium as well as a good swim in the pool. Evening meal at Browns was amazing

The staff at the Mere Golf Resort are excellent especially in Browns Restaurant this is even more regrettable because the G M is so totally bad his behaviour in handling an incident with very young boys visiting the loos alone was so very badly handled as a family we will NEVER visit this place again. I'm sorry for the staff who are very good they have been let down by the person who should know better. This experience has sadly spoiled our Farthers day we wont repeat .

Pretty much the perfect country hotel. I can't fault the hotel for anything. Rooms are great, spa is great, staff excellent, the meals were nice and the location is good (near to knutsford but also bear to the countryside). I really can't fault it!

No the best products used. A spa is for relaxation not this one very noisy and overcrowded. The food that comes as part of the spa package not to good either

Incredible anniversary experience. Got married here 2 years ago and the staff have been lovely. The spa facilities are awesome, the service is excellent and the quality of the food is right up there with the best. Highly recommend to come here for a wedding, a night out, a spa day, an event and for a wonderful golfing experience!

This review is strictly in relation to the golf course. Just returned from playing over the August bank holiday. After hearing many positives reviews I was completely surprised to find the golf course in appalling condition. Tee boxes were bad but the fairways were probably the worst I've ever played on. Huge patches of bare mud everywhere, you could literally have half of all fairways and the ground surrounding the greens as GUR. As for the greens half of them were pretty decent but half were terrible. They had bare patches all over them, lots of bobbles on putts and one of them (the 5th or 6th i think it was) had around 10 sets of tyre tracks running all through the green. Sorry but when your paying top dollar to play golf you expect the course to be in good if not great condition. Very very poor.

I have performed as a MAGICIAN at The Mere at numerous amazing weddings and private celebrity parties. There are many great function rooms to suit all requirements and the food is exquisite.
The staff always go above and beyond to ensure all events run smoothly and guest entertainers are taken care of.

really nice staff and food, however the spa really does need a big clean or updating, its very old and some of the tiles are coming loose. In the girls changing rooms the walls are really dirty inside the changing area. i would recommend making the hot tub hotter as it was only warm and put a scent in the steam room, its didn't smell nice . the smell could of been because of everyone else using it as it was late at night maybe just put vape or essence in there.

Run by incompetent people, first of all customer service is beyond terrible with the managers, the food manager especially has a terrible attitude towards people, apparently believe he does DJ on the side. General Manager GARY JOHNSON thinks he owns the club, doesn t listen to any of your concerns over talks you, shouldn t be in a job position like that. Obviously never had a business always worked for someone else, who ever has recruited him must be barking mad as this isn t the type of person to be sat in a job position like that. With running a hotel as a GM myself his way of running an establishment is beyond belief. Stay clear spend your money somewhere else. My complaint came after we paid for a spa day and the salt room, hydropool was not working and it was jammed with kids he didn t even entertain me or apologise it was simple don t ever come back. Going to escalate a complaint through Wowcher, CEO, DIRECTOR and post on Social media.

Not possibly one thing I could suggest that they do better. Exquisite experience from friendly staff to well groomed grounds and lovely surroundings.

Lovely, comfy rooms and good service. Only thing to improve is that you have to traipse across the car park in the rain to access the spa. If they could provide umbrellas that would be very welcome. Otherwise very good.

Went to the spa. Very nice indeed. Great facilities. Really nice head massage (fell asleep). Food was very good. Staff were excellent. Good location and plenty of parking.

A stunning venue for weddings and other events. The rooms are incredible with paired ceilings, lits of gilt decorations and a very atmospheric hall and stairway just at the entrance. Extensive grounds beautifully laud out. Attended a wedding here and it was memorable.

Lovely relaxing couple of days in a fab hotel and spa

The food was OK but could of been better as the price did not reflect it. For the amount of money that must go through this place it definitely could use a bit on the place as some areas were looking a bit run down. The main restaurant could do with more cleaning. The windows were covered in hand prints. There were cobwebs all around and the tables were not cleaned well. The walls needed repainting. The staff seem nice. They use Samsung tablets as menus but could do with a clean.

I have nothing but positive things to say about the resort. The service we received was of a very high standard and nothing was too much trouble for the team. Our room was amazing, clean and spacious. We used the spa facilities and the team were attentive and the treatments very relaxing. The chateaux briand in Browns restaurant was one of the best we ve ever had.

Very comfortable stay and the Golf course was one of the best I've played on.
