Just an outstanding tasting menu experience ($50pp). We were served ten courses in total:

Special shoutout to the mind-blowing pita that literally came steaming hot with the muhammara.

No misfires on the dishes we ordered. The branzino special was very good, though perhaps a bit smaller than expected. The salads, hummus, potatoes, and braised greens were all excellent.

Food is awesome. Though very small portions, but it is dellllitious!!! And it is open till 10.

Consistent excellent food and cocktails, and friendly service despite frequent crowds. We bring all our out of town guests here to see what Chef Stephanie is creating with the latest local seasonal ingredients (that carrot top pesto last spring, oh my). Get whatever dish has the grilled maitake mushrooms on it, you won t regret it. MEC is our favorite spot in the neighborhood amongst a bevy of excellent options.

Fun staff, great seating areas. Crowd was hip and servers were well experienced with all sorts of drink choices. Would gladly visit again.

Food was good. The Server was not. He was more interested in us having our masks, rather than a great service.

The first time was great. Terrific food and service, even during peak hours on a Friday night. The second time was the kiss of death. Last Sunday night. Service was horrible. Staff was holier than thou. Chicken was half cooked. When alerted the staff no apologies offered. Wouldn t go back anymore. I m voting with my wallet.

Great Mediterranean mezze (tapas) place in a lovely atmosphere. Be ready for a long wait on weekends though... Put your name in early and get a drink at the many places nearby. Totally worth the wait!

The best land chops I've ever eaten!! The wait is worth it, crowd of those waiting can be very rude but the staff is amazing...I had an amazing sweet treat of chilled chocolate or cocoa dusted pistachios that I would sell my soul for, some of the most beautiful bartenders spiritually and physically to handle the pretentious crowd of regulars Jane newcomer as myself...I loved it and will recommend!

Unable to rate. We could not get in for like hour half. Suggestions make a reservation. I've heard great things about this place. I will try again

Wow. The hummus with the mushrooms was one of the most unique dishes I ve ever tried. The pita bread is freshly made and to die for. We ordered about 10 different dishes and all of them were fantastic.

Very cool vibe. Nice bar drinks while waiting on the table. Definitely recommend the tasting menu which is chef's choice. Plenty of options for vegetarians as well.

You'll need a reservation but it's worth it. Octopus was life changing.

Super classy inside this place. Everyone was so organized, the service was excellent (our server was Erica sp?). The food is prepared to ordered, so unique and flavorful! As a restaurant owner, I'm especially impressed.

Restaurant area is completely empty and family on their way and they still will not sit you until whole party is there. Food is not worth the poor service.

We got the chef's menu and it was so good it felt like a steal for the price. I would be a regular here.

I was a little disappointed when I ate here. The portions were tiny and hard to share with a group (which is kind of the point of small plates). I felt like the restaurant was trying to hard to be fusiony (I know, not a real word). Not the worst option if you're in the area, but there is definitely better and cheaper Mediterranean food in PDX.

Always amazing. Best octopus in town. Summertime roasted peaches were so delicious (wish those were year round!). But whatever is in season ~ this place always delivers! The drinks are great too!

This is an amazing place to go to for non-alcoholic cocktails! I love their tapas-based food menu as well, though I am especially impressed by their ability to create delicious zero-proof beverages that make you feel like you re having something really special. They even carry Seedlip, which doesn t seem to be available in most Portland bars at this point. The service is excellent; you will not feel rushed and they do take reservations. Great for a date night or gathering with friends.

Mediterranean cuisine is my favorite, so tasty and so healthy at the same time. This restaurant took a lot of precautions that made us feel safe and in good hands, we sat in their new outdoor seated area and had a great lunch. The bill was under what we were expecting too. Highly recommend.

Delicious! You can do it as a "small plates" experience or more traditional. Very popular, fills up fast, and can be noisy. Great for groups

My friend visited and enjoyed this place for his birthday. He simply ate a levant kebab with his bare feet, since he's quite different. Nevertheless, he did not get food poisoning, therefore asking me to write this review and give it a solid 5 out of 10 stars. He also did not enjoy the fact there were no refugees present to offer an authentic Mediterranean experience. Small plates means more opportunities to try new flavors - and they're so good!

Normally a favorite. Great food is to be expected but less than acceptable service this trip.

Hands down my fave place in PDX. The appetizers were fresh and impeccably prepared, and the staff was courteous and helpful in both guiding our selections. The Moroccan Chicken, hummus and octopus are a must try! I would definitely recommend this restaurant anytime.

Always a great time, anything from the Toro group has never disappointed. Came here for a quick meal with my lady and wasn't disappointed, hanger steak was amazing.

MEC is doing covid-safe dining right! Outdoor Tents, heaters, space, excellent food. Great for when you miss being around strangers & need some good food.

Best Mediterranean food I ever head, great selection for both vegetarian and non vegetarian lovers

This was a lot of fun and great food. The only recommendation is that the bar stools that you sit on in the restaurant are very uncomfortable especially when you are there for over 2 hours and wearing a skirt. I loved the street corn! YUMMY

Best pitas ever. Octopus salad--wow. Labneh with home-made yoghurt. House-made butter insane.

The food is delicious, but the portions are small.
The tables are only outside, it is cool to sit.

The food was very good. When seating inside opens back up I would probably rate my experience a 5. The outdoor seating is on an incline and the table had water dripping on it from the tent.

One of my favorite places to eat at. Some of their best dishes include the fried chicken and the octopus.

Great food, great vibe, great service. I want here on a whim with my 6 year old (Call me crazy) for a "quick"meal. It was a busy Thursday night and the hostess was very accommodating. She sat us in the front waiting area right away they treated us to their delicious crunchy potato wedges and my son had a huge smile on his face the whole meal.

Great small plates. Bring friends, order everything, leave happy.

Wow! I was given the recommendation to try this and I am thankful I listened. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience was divine. I didn t have to wait at all for dinner at 6pm. This house made pita was KILLER! I could have lived off that alone. I chose the brick chicken per the recommendation of m waiter. It was very flavorful - a little on the salty side but moist and tender. Portions were acceptable, I left satisfied. Total bill equates to $30 after tip. Extensive wine, beer and spirit list were available.

My favorite swanky date place for food. The service, like all of Gorhams restaurants is totally hands off. They don't walk you through anything and you are not special. Look at the menu ahead of time.

Had the Moroccan Brick Chicken, falafel, Greek potatoes, and garlic hummus. Food was great as was the service at the bar.

Great food, nice and friendly atmosphere. They don't have frozen drinks though...was hoping for a frozen margarita..Gin and tonic was great.

In the Pearl on 13th is some of the best grilled octopus in town !! Ask to sit at the bar so your able to actually see the food before you order. Out and about with KG Specialties.

Thet were busy tonight but, our food took over an hour to get to us, it came in bits and in a couple dishes at a time, really really ridiculous. The wait staff were great, the food was tasty but so little for so much money. Not likely to go back. We got in at 5:30 sat about 645 final meal arrived at 8:15. Not thrilled.

A perfect date night spot with delicious food! The dining room filled up quickly on a Saturday night. It is suggested to get 2 plates per person to share, we did 5 plates and it was too much food! The lamb was the favorite of the night!

Such amazing food and service. We came to enjoy some good food and that is exactly what we got. We shared between three a few appetizers and then three entrees. We had calamari, fennel salad, roasted eggplant, falafel for appetizers. Then for the main course scallops, flank steak, and the Nazareth kebab. We finished with bread pudding and a scoop of ice cream. It worked perfectly for us. Everything was amazing and worth a try. Our server was attentive and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be back!

Went here on a Saturday night and the place was packed, thank god for the reservation i had got done earlier, the waiting time was like 2hours. The server and the host were super courteous, we were made to feel very welcome, some fava bean nuts were brought to us while we waited for the food. We ordered the sheep s milk feta, and the roast chicken. The feta came with a large, super fluffy, tasty pita; the feta itself was super delish and fresh, well seasoned and perfect with the bread. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the glaze/ sauce was rich and it came with giant pearl courcous. The portions were not huge, but then again, it is a $$$ restaurant. Highly recommend this place, but make sure you have reservations before visiting.

Wow wow wow. I don't think there is a weak thing on the menu here. Service was outstanding. Decor was well done and contemporary. I've been to A LOT of the cocktail bars in Portland but the drink I had here was the best one. Smoking Gaucho.

My favorite restaurant in Portland!!! Best seared sea scallops I've ever had, the lamb tartare and smoked mackerel are ridiculously good, I will order those three things every time I come. Everything else I tried was delicious. With so many good, and even great restaurants in Portland, this place goes over the top - it's outstanding!!

Best Greek and middle eastern dishes I've had in a long time, and leave room for the bread pudding like dessert!

Very good food, but more expensive than it seems at first glance and certainly more than the $$ rating on yelp. There were two of us, we each had 2 drinks, one app, some sides and one main dish and the bill, with a 20% tip, came to $175. For that kind of money, I don't want to sit at the bar(where we were seated) and I want exceptional.service (it was just okay). The food was very good, but the portions are rather small and everything is a la carte. The atmosphere is casual, hectic and the noise level is rather high. For the money, it wasn't worth it.

Food was amazing, bartenders were amazing, waitstaff was amazing. Had some of the best cocktails and beer for happy hour and the had the tasting menu for dinner. Absolutely recommend. It does get busy though we went right as it opened at 4 and didn't have any issues but the place fills up quick!

SO GOOD. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner and we were blown away. Everything was delicious, but the challah bread in particular was out of this world.

Had a very pleasant meal. Six dishes for three people and we all were happy and comfortable. Nice vegetarian variety but limited fish.

HANDICAP COMPLAINT: Even if your bathroom is designed for wheelchairs if a person in a chair can't get through tightly packed tables without asking people move you are not really handicap friendly

Salads were a real disappointment. The mamas salad was literally just a handful of mealy salad bag lettuce for 13$. The heirloom tomato salad was a few sliced Roma tomatoes for 12.50$; no flavor.
The rest of the meal was ok, but overpriced for what it was, incredibly small portions of unexceptional food.
I didn t appreciate their to-go order system pre-filling a 20% tip on take out. All they did was shove a bag next to the door. Hmmm... do people also tip 20% at McDonald s? Because at least those employees say have a nice day.
No such luck here.
Also, the desert options were undesirable - a 5$ cookie or pine nuts on yogurt?

Nice place for a team dinner with vegans and vegetarians. But with Beef bacon wrapped dates and a great octopus salad, it pleased the omnivores as well.

One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Food out of this world packed with amazing flavors from the Mediterranean region. My go to dish is the roasted eggplant with pita and seared king salmon. For cocktail, try the Ferdinand, if you are into bourbon whiskey (four roses single barrel). This place is popular so plan ahead by making a reservation.

Great tapas restaurants with a huge selection of great dishes. Reservations recommended for large parties.
