excellent, EXCELLENT staff!!!!! I was in ER yesterday. They turned a bad situation into a pleasant experience.
DO NOT; REPEAT, DO NOT enroll in the outpatient therapy classes!! I'm bipolar. I was in the classes. It was run like a marine boot camp. Therapists had total power--no questions asked! Tried to make a harmless, innocent joke with Joel. The prima donna got his panties in a knot. Next thing I know I'm gettin' bumped from class to class. Nobody wants me. Danielle acts like she thinks I'm gonna eat her alive! They're supposed to be the pros for God's sake! I told 'em where to stick it and left. I emailed my insurance company, and said "don't pay these idiots a dime!" I just opened mail from the good folks at Medical Center. It was a bill for $1100 for 2 WEEKS OF ABUSE from Joel, Danielle and the gang! WHAT A BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS! I'm madder and in a worse mood now than when I went in!

I had eaten lunch today at the hospital. Better prices than restaurants. As usual I couldn't find my car afterwards--bad memory is a symptom of my hydrocephalus. After about 5 minutes a very kind guy offered help. I learned he was a new dad of about 4 or 5 hours. He told me that wife and baby were fine. I'm sure he had alot of other things on his mind! I'll bet he had obligations and responsibilities. He was pro-
bably tired and stressed. We looked all over that lot with him doin' most of the leg work! I don't have a car-finder that'll honk my horn remotely We found my car even-
tually. It probably would've taken me all day on my own. I never got the man's name or # or any of that. I never have $$$ in my wallet so I couldn't offer that. I had some beans and rice left from my lunch. He said "nah, nah, sir you don't owe me a thing!"
I thanked 'im profusely, but I wanted to do it here, too. He restored my faith in humanity, and I hope he's rewarded many times over!!!!

On August 24, 2015 around 7:30 pm I brought my 11 month old son to the medical center with a fever of 103+, not eating or drinking, and fussiness. Over the course of 6 hours They swabbed his mouth and nose, took X-rays and drew blood. Around 1:15 am they send us home saying they don't see a reason for his fever and that its normal for babies to get a fever out of the blue. They said nothing came back on the blood work or X-rays.

I bring him to his doctor on August 25,2015 at 2 PM because his fussiness had went up more and he could not sleep. I knew it was more then a "fever out of the blue". Automatically I am told that something was in fact seen on the X-rays at the hospital-he has pneumonitis. His ears and throat are red as well (I was told at the hospital there was no redness) possibly with infection. He was prescribed 3 antibiotics right away in less than an hour of his doctor visit.

I am in disbelief of the doctors at the Medical Center. The wait and the medical care there are all beyond out of lines for so called "the best medical services of SETX." I am not happy at all with how my son was treated or looked at when I brought him to this facility. And that I was lied to about his condition is beyond wrong and needs to be addressed.

More people need to come forward with their bad experiences at this facility, with it being one of the only hospitals in the area. I have heard several bad reveiws by mouth regarding this hospital. Never again will i step foot in this hospital, even if I have to drive to Beaumont, I'd rather that then have my life in the hands of incompetent people.

If you want to be cared for by nurses that are there only for a paycheck, this is the place for you. Horrible experience with my mother. I will drive her to Houston before letting them do anything else. As far as the canned response below, I filled out the form that they sent to the house after her stay, have not heard a damn thing. Typical of this facility. I sure miss St. Marys.

Just left there with my mother in law. She had been complaining that her left shoulder and neck, chest and back hurt really bad and she was having a hard time breathing. We chose to bring her here for 2 reasons, one its the closest hospital and 2 I work there. When we got to the admissions, the girl that took her information was SUPER helpful. The nurse that triaged her Marty Broussard was AWESOME!!! She did a very rapid assessment and identified the possible problems. Her nurse was Stacy and she was very nice. The NP that saw her Ms. Alicia was super helpful ALSO. After ruling out the EMERGENT possibilities, heart and lung, they told her something that made perfect SENSE, see your primary doctor. Something I think people forget about the ER is that they are for emergencies, once they rule that out, they have done their jobs!!! SUPER HAPPY IT WASN'T AN ENERGENCY SITUATION and that they took GREAT care of her

Fiance has post surgery infection from 3 days ago. Been waiting 5 hours in pain with no meds and no real contact. Don't even have blood pressure or pulse monitors on. We're unhooked for bathroom and never reconnected. All we know is rapid high white blood cell count and that's from triage. If could take to another hospital i would but can't move her now. Considering going to sit on side of road and call ambulance to take to Beaumont. Thats sad. This place is horrible tonight!

I have it 1 Star because you have to, to review it. This is not a hospital. It's a gathering place for a bunch of PMSing, mean so called nurses. It's HORRIBLE!! If you love yourself it your relatives, don't subject them to this terror.

This place is horrible. Was rushed there Monday after having a seizure at work and bashing My head and bleeding profusely. I have horrible anxiety problems and this sent my anxiety to a whole new level. The lack of care and understanding was amazing to me. My blood pressure and temp was still running high when I got home, but this hospital wouldnt know because THEY DIDNT EVEN TAKE IT. The nurses were rude, they placed me in a room to scream alone for four hours. They literally did not care. I still don't know why I had the seizure, and they don't either. I have a four month old daughter who I must be healthy for. I feel as if they passed heavy judgment towards me because I have piercings and tattoos. NEVER go Here. There's no reason to because they simply won't care

My husband had surgery today

My husband had surgery today
Feb.10, 2019 and NO ONE called me to inform me he was having surgery!
When arriving to his room, I asked where is my husband? A male nurse by the name of BRYCE said he was in recovey from his surgery! I replied WHAT? NO ONE CALLED ME! I WASN'T INFORME HE WAS HAVING SURGERY THIS MORNING! Nurse BRYCE acted as if it wasn't his responsibility and blew me off! My husband has been laying in blood and fluids after his surgery and no one has even checked in on him! Nurse BRYCE is to busy flirting with the brunette nurse beside him at his station to check on my husband and when I ask him for any assistance he blows me off and turns back around laughing with his side coworker..nuse brunette! I reported everyone to the Head House Staff Ms. Rayelen and she took up for her staff and had NO REMORSE for what they did and for the staff actions! This is by far THE WORST HOSPITAL WITH NURSES AND STAFF MEMBERS! They treat you like a peace of trash paper with no concerns of the patient nor the patient's family! I am livid and can't understand how this Hospital can treat people with NO CARE or REMORSE for there actions on their patients behalf! I DO NOT RECOMMENDED ANYONE EVER COMING TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR ANYTHING!

This place is terrible!! WOULDNT BRING MY WORST ENEMY HERE. was in the ER for a lapse in mental health and a nurse told me "There are people here who are actually sick." Once I was discharged NINE HOURS later after NOT seeing the doctor at all, the nurse proceeded to tell me that I just NEED TO PRAY ABOUT IT. This hospital and its staff are disgusting and dont understand what it means to be, not just a professional, but a medical professional. Completley different ballpark. I do not pay for a nurses personal opinion. I came for a doctor's professional opinion, which I still did not recieve. Never in my life have a gone to the ER and not seen a doctor.

Not the best. I delivered my baby on the 16th of October.
1. I waited for Dr for an hour in the OR prepped.
2. They need to give more pain meds. After a csection, my pain was AWFUL. Tylenol & motrin is all they gave me. Until I demanded something stronger & they gave me a few drops of morphine.
3. No stomach band was provided. This is essential for not having your stomach & insides hanging causing pressure and more pain!
4. They don't discuss much with you.
5. Staff was fair. And nice.
6. No nursery? I was exhausted & one night of full sleep was needed. My husband and i slept a good 5 hours total within 2 nights. Not fun. Especially when you can't be getting up.

I won't be having another baby here. I don't recommend anyone to.

Horrible. Took my niece after a fall and twisting her ankle. She was treated by an RN in the waiting room. This violates many Hippa laws. Service was awful other than the RN triage nurse. Took my daughter the next night as she is suffering a rare autoimmune disease and her immune system is weakened. She had an ear infection. Any infection for a person with a suppressed immune system can be serious. Seizures, psychosis, fever that can get out of hand and so much more. The place wasn't that busy and the receptionist told us it would be hours long wait. Asked her how can that be when they're not that busy and she explained I had no idea what i was talking about. Real snotty woman. Took our awesome healthcare insurance and went to Golden triangle in front of them. Best decision ever!

Sit right back and let me tell you a little story....

Sit right back and let me tell you a little story.

My wife and I were going to have dinner at Mccallister's a block and a half from the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. While ordering, she suddenly said that her vision had blacked out and she could not see. I sat her down on a bench and gave her a half of a cookie thinking maybe her blood sugar was low. She informed me that she wanted to just take it to go. I spoke with the girl behind the counter, and when I got back to my wife, she was completely white, and her lips were of the same shade. She then told me she wanted to go to the ER. I got the car, brought it to the front, then rushed back inside to get her. I asked if she could walk and she slurred her words as if drunk, telling me she could not. I began to pick her up and she went completely limp and unconscious. Another customer helped me carry her out to our car. We had placed her half in the car when she began to convulse, and I realized her lips had turned a deep purple. At this point she was unresponsive, and we couldn t find a pulse. An employee called 911 just as my wife finally came to. She was awake, only somewhat coherent, and was shaking uncontrollably. Instead of waiting for the ambulance, I made the executive decision to drive her the block and a half to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. By the time I made the short trip to TMCSETX, my wife s whole left side had gone numb in addition to the previously mentioned symptoms. Upon arriving at the ED, I flung open my car door and ran to the entrance where I was met by a female security guard and two female nurses. I exclaimed that I needed a gurney or wheelchair so I could get my wife out of the car. I was promptly told that I could not bring her in because they were on lockdown due to an incident. I pointed at my car where my wife was flopping around like a fish while gasping for air and said that I too was having an incident. I was met with the same response that they were on lockdown due to an incident. They could let people out but not in. I asked what the incident was and said I would help with whatever it was if they would just take my wife. Once again, I received the sir, we are on lockdown due to an incident. At this point I was beside myself with frustration, worry, anger, fear, and helplessness. I yelled what am I supposed to do?! Drive her to another hospital like that?! We can t help you was the response I was given. I was forced to bring her on my own to another hospital where there was no inpatient care. My wife is still experiencing serious symptoms from this event as we are seeing specialists and waiting to have tests run.

This is 2nd hand info; last evening, a friend undergoing Houston area cancer treatment went to Med Center SE TX emergency room at the direction of the Houston cancer hospital, as their test earlier in the day revealed a blood clot in the lung, and the Houston hospital called him/her and instructed her/him to immediately go to the nearest ER for treatment (so he/she picked Med Center of SE TX instead of Baptist or Christus). My friend arrived at the ER at Med Center SE TX around 6 pm and was not seen until midnight, an incredible SIX HOURS LATER, with a blood clot in his/her lung that his/her Houston cancer hospital deemed to be an emergency. It appeared that people arriving after him/her were being seen and taken care of. My friend stated staff repeatedly lost paperwork during those six hours and even had to repeat a test due to lost paperwork. After all that wait, no hospital admit for lung blood clot, just an injection of anti-clotting med with a supply of the med to take home and inject daily. Hope that lung blood clot does dissolve--how is he/she supposed to know when it's gone? He/she hated the staff's' demeanor, also. He/she rates the Med Center SE TX's emergency room an "F-." I've been to Christus St. Elizabeth's ER, but never Med Center SE TX's ER. My friend is a honest person, so after learning of his/her experience, I will NOT use this ER. I'll try Baptist or Christus. Hopefully Med Center SE TX's ER in the campus they purchased on Dowlen in Beaumont will be better. Who is in charge of the Med Center's ER, anyway?

I was reading comments from irate people about TMC of SE Tx, and I beg to differ. I m not sure if they ve ever tried the other hospitals in the area. I ve been a patient here twice, and all the nurses really take great care of their patients. They are a great team. I ve been a patient at the other hospitals as well, and so has members of my family.
Thank you to the staff and doctors! Housekeeping is up to par, they cleaned my room daily, not just emptying garbage but a thorough clean up.

I d put 0 stars if I could we had a baby right aft...

I d put 0 stars if I could we had a baby right after hurricane Harvey which we expected certain inconveniences due to the displaced employees but what we got was far worse. First of all we never got the same answer as to why our baby had to stay in the NICU we were told different reasons and when testing cleared those reasons they came up with new ones and when those cleared they went back to the old reasons which were cleared a day or 2 before. This led us and other parents to believe we were their attempt to recoup money lost over Harvey. To save the reader s time I will list some of the nightmares that occurred.
When they admitted our baby the nurse pointed at me and told another nurse get him out of here with no explanation. The nurse who escorted me out was from out of town helping as relief and she was very disgusted with the treatment I received.
NICU has limited hours and clears the floor of all parents when admitting a new baby which robbed us of time with our baby.
One nurse HUNG up on us after treating me like an idiot for asking what time we could see our baby since the floor was closed to admit another baby.
One nurse mocked us for looking at the monitors to see which one of his leads had fallen off and said stop looking at the monitors you won t have those at home! Are his lips blue? Then he is fine!
There s more but this is already long enough suffice it to say we will not have another baby here.
Often asking a question we felt like we were a burden to them and they were annoyed that we would ask.
With that said we did have 2 nurses that were great to deal with and the lady who dealt with us in the finance office was great!

I needed a sleep study...A refral was made through my GP. I had to call my GP after 3 weeks to an update on when I could schedule my study. They called it took another week before I called the hospital after trying to reach the center myself a few times. I left messages my GP left message it wasn't until I filled a complaint that I got an appointment scheduled.

Now my girlfriend needs a study and I am running into the EXACT SAME ISSUES. I can not get anyone on the phone or call me to schedule a study...How are they in business if every referral and appointment is ignored?

I've waited a week and a half for a call, been calling them directly for 3 days, left a message for them to call me back...I'm calling Tuesday to file a complaint, seems like a complaint = appointments.

I m in love with this place! They have been so amazing to me and understanding! They have gave me excellent care!! The doctor and all the nurses have gone above and beyond to make me comfortable I would choose this hospital over baptist in Beaumont and st e! I ve been to them all and this place is by far the best! I was so skeptical about going here especially with having Medicaid but they ve treated me better than I ve ever been treated besides when I had my c section but I m here for a miscarriage and they re amazing

My mother in law had several issues when she arrived and was in a lot of pain. The service she received was not only outstanding, the staff also did a great job of communicating with the family. They strongly encouraged her to visit their onsite rehab facility, she was adamantly against at first, and she is now feeling and moving around better than she has in a long time. Very appreciative of the job they have done for her.

I'm surprised their death toll isn't rising! Thanks to Saint Elizabeth in Beaumont for saving my life. I went to the Medical Center with symptoms of a stroke! They put me in the waiting room and said it would be a 5 hour wait! The left side of my face was numb but my mouth and eye was good. My kid's knew something wasn't right because I kept gasping to breathe, it was hard to swallow and my face was numb. I literally punched myself on the left side of my face in front of the woman that checked me in. She didn't listen to me when I was telling her my reason for going there! My son was so upset and called other family members to force me to seek medical attention right away! After half of my family called crying I went to Saint Elizabeth. They took me straight to the back. They ran test after test and I surely had a mild stroke! They have no heart at The medical Center! I can't believe these people are in the Medical field and give horrible service to customers!! I'll never step foot in that place again! They ought to be ashamed of themselves! HOW DO YOU ALL SLEEP AT NIGHT, KNOWING MY REASONS FPR COMING IN TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION? I COULD HAVE LEFT BEHIND 4 KID'S AND INCLUDING OUR FAMILY DOG ROXIE! I'VE BEEN CRYING FOR 2 HOURS THINKING ABOUT THIS!

Zero stars for me!! This Hospital has the worse emergency center I have ever been to....My daughter goes in for a fever, she hasn t been able to get rid of... She was in a
Car accident 5 days prior... Does it not usually mean if you are
Running a fever there is an infection of
Some kind correct? First of all
None of the nurses listened to anything she had to say, and she didn t go into the place sick at all... She only had a fever ,stomach ,neck and hand pains where she had been burnt during the accident...They took
A nose swab test for the flu , which of course she didn t have any symptoms of... She was also tested through her urine, which was the only thing I understood... They keep everyone out in he waiting room while they are taking these different test, a doctor was never seen... My daughter 4 hours later was called to be discharged, being prescribed muscle relaxers and Tylenol with codeine, she said I didn t need pain medication... I need to know why I have been running a fever and how to fight the infection... The nurse proceeds to laugh at my daughter, and tell her your fever is probably due to allergies!!! My daughter said I did not come in for a
Cold , because I am not sick!!!! There had been people that had to sit In that waiting room ,without any proper results for hours at a time... This place really needs to be more professional, and caring at the same time!!! So yes I just wanted to say thank you for Not helping my daughter ,and for having her leave that hospital in tears!!! AGAIN WORSE PLACE EVER!!!!

Went there for a severe 10 day headache. No test done except strep test. Sent home with muscle relaxer. Turns out my BIPAP machine mask was broke and I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain. I wish they would have tried harder to figure it out. I was dismissed with just a headache.

February 10th my mom who is 91yr old. Arrived by ambulance having heart problems. As we all know, it s a pain being there the long waits that patience have to go through. Finally a few hours later she went to her room. Very nice nurse.

BUT THE BEDS THEY PUT PATIENTS IS HORRIBLE. THE BED LOOKED LIKE TODDLERS BED. THE MATTRESS WAS SO THIN THAT REMINDED OF A PORT A CRIB MATTRESS FOR TODDLERS. MY MOM IS 124LB. SHE WAS HURTING ALL OVER BEING ON THAT MATTRESS.

TWO DAYS LATER MY DAUGHTER WAS IN ICU. SAME THING HAPPENED TO HER AS WELL.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON. IS THE HOSPITAL TO CHEAP TO BUY MATTRESS FOR PATIENTS.

Trust what people say in their reviews about this hospital. It's very true. Took my son there Friday night with chest pains and breathing problems. They did blood pressure and ekg the nurse says let me get the dr to look at it and had us sit in the waiting room. Hours past and he was getting worse. Receptionist was not friendly at all, and when I asked how much longer, she looked like I has interrupted her sit down visit with her co worker. Attitude. Really? After waiting and him getting worse I got up and told her he needs help so I've got to take him somewhere to get that help. She just looked, as if to say "ok, good" . No care, no concern, and we left and went to a real hospital where they took very good care of him, got his blood pressure down to normal as well as his heart rate. Thank god!

Okay I give this hospital props, but not to the fullest, okay my son went to 2 different places before here, Baptist ER in orange and Christus Minor Care in Port Arthur, both places could not treat him because there was nothing for them to treat as stated by both facilities, I took him to The Medical Center as a last resort due to not knowing the facility very well, but surprised to find out he had a double ear infection, now tell me how the hell they missed that at the other places? Anyways to the last part of my review, the 2nd time I visited this place my son was presenting symptoms of nausea, vomiting, dehydration and lower abdominal pain, my wife is a nurse and I am a former emt, so we treated him as best as we could with what otc meds we had and did several assessments but still could not find out what was wrong, they had a clue it was a virus, so they drew labs, took xrays and ran fluids per iv, come to find out he was constipated, which caused dehydration and fever, of course we couldn't have known because we don't have an xray machine at home lol, anyways they had messed up on the first xray and had to do another, they charged us for both even though it was their fault for not getting it right the first time, now we owe a 5 grand bill just for them running a bag of fluids, doing 2 xrays even though they screwed one up, and drawing a few labs which they had to stick twice because he moved. With the medical experience we have I wish we could invest in the same technology they have because I could've done everything they did with the equipment at hand, sorry but for what they did its not worth the price.

If i could give zero stars i would.. the place is alright but the nurses and doctor they just dont care i got here at 7 pm and basically waited like 5 hours in the waiting room in pain and a high fever for them to get me to a room. They were basically planning on sendind me home with fever and pain and a prescription i think it was because i didnt have insurance they only care about the money once the nurse practitioner saw my vitals again they decided to get me admitted. Moved me to 3rd floor were the care is careless nurses basically dont come to check on you they come when they remember first night was good after that i would tell them im in pain and have a fever and basically give me a pill and come back to check on me when they remember. Not to mention when i called in the remote thing they have if you need help the lady who answers is rude she never tells the nurse i needed help after throwing up all over the floor my husband had to go get the nurse. Before getting discharge they want me to pay them almost 7,000 dollars where the heck am i suppost to get that amount of money sick first hospital that does that to me ive been to plenty and they just send me a bill and work with me to make a payment plan ! The last night i was here the nurse only came like 2 times to check on me i had to tell her i was in pain for her to give me something. First and last time i come to this place. Worst care ever they dont care specially if you dont have insurance

I am going to number my complaints, there are so many.

1) A few years back our dr admitted my husband to the hospital. My husband calls me around 12:00am to come get him, when I got to his room he had Four areas with gauze and tape where the nurse had attempted to place an IV and was going for the fifth. We walked out.

2)My Husband again was admitted to the hospital and was getting ready to be released when blood started shooting out of his IV line. Knowing that it would take for ever for them to respond to the nurse call I ran to the nurses station to get someone, I was in a panic and they just looked at me as I told them there was blood shooting from his IV (more to the story) when nurse arrived to his room she did go into action by putting pressure on the IV. There was a very large puddle of blood on the floor to which they just throw towels on before I could get a picture of the amount of blood that was puddled on the floor. I spoke to someone about this and it went on deaf ears. ( so much more to this story)

3)I was lifting something heavy at home when I went to the ground after feeling something pop in my back. I went to the er told them what had happened and waiting in the waiting room before being called back to a room by the entry of the er. The two nurses in the room asked what they could do at which time I said maybe an X-ray. Sat back down in the waiting area someone came to take me back to X-ray, a few minutes later the nurse that had be told her job came to me and with her tail tucked to help me to a room, my back was fractured. I was not there for pain meds, I had a broken back. (shame on all of you)

4)I felt very very ill and my drs office was closed for the weekend. I went to the er they took a urine sample as I sat in the waiting room said I had a urinary track infection sent me home with antibiotics, three days later was admitted with pneumonia. Never took a blood test or check my lungs.

5) Had to have my husband transported by ambulance to er after a bad fall the night before, he could not walk on his own he was in so much pain in his hip area. (he had a severe stroke 7 years ago) They did a cat scan of his head which would be normal given the blood thiner he is on. Had to ask several times for a hip and back x-ray and something for pain, they did give 800mg ibuprofen and finally x-rayed him after about two hours of lying there in pain.(no relief from his pain) Another hour passed and he had enough , had not seen a dr or given anything to help with the pain, he left the er after having to sign papers stating he left against medical advice, he never received any medical advice

What kind of confidence would you have in this hospital, it is so unfortunate this is all we have when you have a disable member of your family that does need emergency care at times. Please don't send your standard we care message, it is well documented this is a deplorable, uncaring and unprofessional environment.

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO THIS STORY!!! WARNING!!!!

In response to the note below, I tried at one time to address the complaint number 2. The person I spoke to showed no concern and seemed to be bored with our conversation. As I read the reviews it seems that this an on going problem. We do have very good health insurance, we are not coming in off the street into your hospital to receive drugs. If we come to that Er it is for a medical reason. Once again, shame on all of you involved in any of my many complaints and I hope you have sleepless nights until your hearts are changed. We are human beings please treat us as such.

Labor and delivery was an bad experience for me. One of the older white lady dig all in her nose didn't sanitize her hands. Some of the young staff black chubby lady nurses would just open up the room without NO Knocking first. Some of the younger white lady nurses would knock but while they checking your body. They leave the door Wide Open. Also, the black chubby nurse already discharge me and never removed my IV from hand. The most sad part was leaving none of the nurses put me in a wheel chair and I still bleeding. None of the nurses offer to strap the car seat in. As a certified Register Nurse. They shouldn't be working as nurses. Never when I worked at a hospital would we let our discharge patients leave walking and than make the new mom bend and strap the baby in. Very Unorganized and PATHETIC SERVICE. All of they training as a nurse FAILED. If I would have bled to death. That would have been a LAW SUIT. SAD BUSINESS IN PORT ARTHUR TEXAS at this hospital. Don't never come here and have a baby.

I was in the hospital from 2/23/21 to 2/25/21 for a total hip replacement surgery. The staff there was good and some went above and beyond my expectations. I'm not one that just lays in a bed after having surgery so I was doing all that I could do to show them that I was ready and willing to do whatever needs to be done so I could get out of there. The only reason that I gave a four star review resulted from one nurse that left me in pain for longer than she should have. I did make a compliant about it and I guess that someone must have talked to her about it because when she came back on duty that night she was more attentive to my needs. This is a good hospital and I would recommend that you go here first before thinking about going further away. Thank you Southeast Texas Medical Center!

I felt like I wasn't having things explained to me in an understandable manner. My wife, a retired RN, had to explain things to me. For example I kept asking why I wasn't being given all of my home meds specifically my diabetic meds. All they had to tell me was that I was being given insulin instead of my oral medication because my blood sugars were too high for the oil medication to bring down.

The nurses on duty taking care of patients after surgery are horrible. We requested help because after the surgery the patient wanted to vomit and needed help sitting up. The nurse ( Will) did not show up till 2 hours later. After requesting help and patiently waiting the nurse finally came but with a bad attitude. We requested an extra seat that turns into a bed so someone can stay with the patient and that still hasn't come. I only Thank God that the surgery went well. I hope the service improves cause there are lots of other hospitals in the area we can choice to go to next time. Have to say LaDonna the head nurse helped correct the problem.

This place is a joke and so is Dr Joseph Mirakhor. Came in for severe pain on the right side of my face that I have been experiencing for several days while visiting from out of town. I have taken so many over the counter medicinces that I have actually taken more than what the directions tell you and have not been able to sleep for the past 2 nights. I'm in the room crying in pain...talk to the nurse. Then Dr Joseph Mirakhor comes in and begins his examination but stops abruptly and says he will be right back. After a few minutes not only does he not come back, but some lady who never introduced herself tells me that since I do not have insurance I will have to pay $250 in order to be seen. I am a single mom and a military veteran in SEVERE pain. The pain is so bad I'd rather give birth a 4th time. Nothing at this point is helping.... I need relief and sleep and all your hospital and Dr is worried about is $$$. Dr. Mirakhor, why did you become a doctor? To ACTUALLY help people or for the paycheck?? Because it seems all you see are $$$. What a joke to the profession. You can bet I will be contacting an attorney about filing a lawsuit against the hospital and Dr. Mirakhor after seeing my regular physician. This could have been handled at registration instead of immediately after beginning the examination. It was rude and extremely unprofessional.

We moved to this area last year and it seems that most of the staff in most of the hospitals and doctors office are rude and non caring. I think they should all go the a school that teaches them that if they pick this type of job that they know how to treat people. After all they do work for us. Not sure why this area is so bad about staff but I have noticed this everywhere. When we went to get an MRI they told us that we would have to pay $480.00 which was a shock to us so we had to cancel. At least she could have said there is help out there and to advise us of any other choice that was out there. It seems they don't want to do anything more than to sit there and do only what they have to get a paycheck. Have not any people skills, which I guess they don't seem to think that it is important. They say they will look into the matter but have never seen a change. What has medical world come to?

Saw that we could skip the waiting room by filling a form out online. Our reserve time was 7pm. My husband had lacerated his leg on some sheet metal and urgent care could not do layering stitching and tying off vessel. When we got there.there were 20 people there and the nurse said we can't honor the reservation. We take critical people first. So there is no reserving. The medical profession needs an overhaul.

I will NEVER go to this hospital again. I went to ...

I will NEVER go to this hospital again. I went to the emergency room for severe hip pain to the point where I actually left work. After getting an X-Ray and 3 hours of waiting the so called doctor came in rudely and then spoke to me like I was a child (excuse me but I'm in my 40's) saying the emergency room was for life threatening pain! Then telling me you cant keep coming to the emergency room for this kind of pain. I DO NOT go to the emergency room unless something is seriously wrong, last time was almost a year ago for C-diff. I WILL NOT nor should anyone else be spoken to like this by some doctor, "Dr. E" should not be working in any emergency room!

So the parent company of the Medical Center asked me to email my info to them so they may speak with me regarding my experience. I did this....

NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME! Like I said previously nope not going there again!

Labor and delivery. I had a better than fantastic experience with the staff here. Came in 35 weeks pregnant with high BP and contractions. I had 3 nurses. Holly. Gosh I am so embarrassed I forgot her name but pregnancy brain I keep thinking Kema but dont think that is quite right. Kami! Kami was her name. And another nurse right at the beginning. They ALL seemed to care, asked about comfort and pain and were an advocate for me during my stay. I really hope I get s chance to be their patient again during labor. Thank all three of you again. Oh and even though Trina maybe the money collector for lack of better term she is attentive, caring, and funny!!

If I could rate 0 stars I would. This place doesn't abide by the HIPPA law. While waiting in the waiting area I witnessed 3 patients treated right there. I have several other complaints but I'll address it to the head person of the hospital.

The worst experience I have ever had in a emergency facility ever! I would recommend that you take the extra time it takes to go to Beaumont for your emergency needs. You will be waiting a minimum of 4 hrs in the waiting room before you get transferred to the emergency care area and even then you will still have to wait several hours there as well!

Worst er staff on planet earth. Took my wife in , today in severe pain never saw a doctor, only a nurse practitioner, who basically told us we were wasting his time and sent her away. Tried to get in touch with the er supervisor, left 5 messages, never heard back. The hospital is great once you pass the ER.

Took my 78 year old diabetic dad here because he was having shortness of breath. We got to the hospital at 9:30a.m. The emergency room nurses were pleasant. He ended up getting admitted because he had pneumonia, it took 11hours to be put in a room because they were "cleaning it" I spoke with the supervisor "Debbie" at 8:30p.m. and she put him in a room within minutes after our conversation, but the previous wait time before that was pure ridiculous. Being that my dad had pneumonia, he should have been kept in the hospital at least 3 to 4 days. He was released the next day, and they didn't give him a prescription for antibiotics. All they gave was one shot and some Dr. by the name of Dr. Thomas said that he was "all clear" to go home. My dad was still feeling bad the next day and went to see his family doctor, and he told my dad that he wasn't all clear and found out that Dr. Thomas (Dr. from the medical center) prescribed him the wrong medicine. This is pitiful. They need to do better.

I had my baby here the week of Hurricane Harvey. It was a crazy, tumultuous time for our area. You would never have known any of it was going on by the care we received. Everyone was pleasant and compassionate and the environment was peace and quiet. The experience was phenomenal. From the nursing staff, physicians, housekeeping, dietary and beyond - SUPERB!! I will never forget them and highly recommend having a baby here.

If I could give a zero star review I would. Where ...

If I could give a zero star review I would. Where to even start... medical staff yelling out patient information in ER is a serious HIPA violation. The ER staff was incompetent and rude. My sister requires surgery but they have denied doing it because she does not have insurance but they don't want to transfer her to another hospital either. My sister's pain medicine was withheld, then she was given the wrong pain medicine, and denied nausea meds because it was not on her chart. This morning we find out it was on her chart all along. This hospital mistreated and misdiagnosed people constantly. This has been reported over and over again but nothing is being done about it. My daughter was not even looked at when she came in and given a prescription for tramadol at 14 years old. Had to take her to Baptist for them to run one blood test to figure out she was not processing her daily medication correctly and it had affected her liver. The complaints keep going to the owners but they don't care because the hospital has just gotten worse. Apparently if you don't care about people and you don't want to work that hard this is the hospital to work for.

The people who work here, doctors, nurses, aides, housekeeping, nutrition services, ALL OF THEM are fantastic! I couldn't wish for a more attentive and caring group of people to take care of me! I'm currently a patient and will be having major surgery in a few days. They have been wonderful in answering my questions and calming my fears. I appreciate each and every one of them!
