It was our first time dinning at this establishment, the ambiance was nice. It It was for a birthday and we were happy to try them. They actually had a few specials with a prix fixe menu that we tried. The soup was cold, the salad was a great portion and fine, the mains were absolutely delicious. I'd definitely go back (just skip the soup lol) taking pictures on the red chaise was a lovely touch. Thanks for making a Birthday enjoyable. Cheers

We have our office Christmas dinner at the restaurant. But the food is quite disappointing especially the seafood and whisky. The seafood seemed like they have been frozen for ages and not defrosted properly before putting them into the oven. They are rubbery and have no seafood taste. The sauce was so salty that I could not finish the whole thing. I can understand that this is the busiest time of the year, yet the quality of the service and food cannot be sacrificed. We have ordered the chicken with vegetable soup. But all orders came out with different portions and different amount of chicken and vegetables. Some had too much chicken and vegetables while some had nothing but clear broth. Also, we asked for water, but they gave us sparkling water instead. We, of course, need to pay for that. They insisted that they gave us 2 bottles but I could only see one bottle of sparkling water on the table.
My overall opinion is that the only good thing about the restaurant is the bread they serve as they are right out of the oven.

Dirty sticky floors, rotten food smell in the entire restaurant. Tables were sticky as well. Waited almost 35 mins after placing an order at 245pm on a Thursday after (21st Sept).. no other customers in the restaurant, just my wife and I. More

It was our first time at Marlowe. The food was beyond our expectation. It's on the pricey end, though we got a deal from groupon and even managed to save more with the Tuesday 1/2 price oyster deal. There were some minor issues with the order, but our server resolved for us. Overall, it was a very pleasant dinner date (even with two young kids with us). The only complaint was that the food is not hot when arrived - they should have warmed their plates.

We recently celebrated our daughters baptism at Marlowe, it was the second time we had a family celebration at this venue. The people were fantastic to work with, starting with the event planing team and execution team that did the set up and serving. They were helpful and more then accommodating to our wishes and dietary needs. Most importantly the food was fantastic, we had a great time and our guest thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We will defiantly chose this venue for other family events. .

We had a great time with our colleagues the other week. Drinks were nice and hot appetizers truly great! We were taken care of by Amina, whom is such a wonderful host and beautiful person! She brought smiles to our faces and contributed a lot to positive atmosphere of the place. Thank you Marlowe and Amina! :-))

If one person reads my review and doesnt come here i did my job. What nightclub(bunny fingers) charges cover when u get table service. Its ridiculouae that you pay 1000 for 3 bottles and ur crew pays 150 to get in(15:ppl) this place need to reevaluate managment. 3rd time spending over a grand and the more you come the less they give. Unless ur thinking of the cheap chex mex they get at bulkbarn for .30 cents a pound this they offer to everyone. Stick to ivy nightclub if you want to party in vaughan

I read some of the reviews and some of them made me laugh so I thought I'd write my own. We found this place awesome. Good food, beautiful, management eager to please and really good music and dancing. To find a fun place, safe and friendly to women, food available until late night, and avoid the cost and anxiety of going downtown??? Sign me up.

Poor experience overall. We visited Marlowe's Rest...

Poor experience overall. We visited Marlowe's Restaurant in Richmond Hill on Sat, March 18. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and we had called 3 weeks in advance to make a reservation for 13 guests in total. Although we've specifically asked for a table close to the dance floor, the folks there tried to sit us way in the back of the restaurant. After 10 minutes of discussions with the hostess (and the manager), we were finally offered the table we'd asked for. Everyone in our group was still in a good mood, so we proceeded to order drinks. Half hour later , and a million excuses from the server, we got our drinks. Due to the excessive wait time, My wife decided to open one of the wine bottles she'd received as a gift; only to find out a couple of hours later at bill time that the server actually wanted to charge us the full cost of the bottle, although we didn't buy it from them. Finally, we get to order food; no appetizers- straight to entrees. We were told there is a little delay, because they were busy. That's all understandable, but when the food arrives 1.5 hours later...I don't know what to say. In the end we received the separate bills we've asked for, with the 18% gratuity built in, because we were a large party; all good, until they've tried to bill us twice for certain food items and added gratuity on top of their $20 corking fee. All in all a crappy customer experience. At least the food was delicious and the DJ did a good job with the music. (Hence the 2 stars)

My friend and I had dinner here this evening and w...

My friend and I had dinner here this evening and wanted to share our experience. We ordered Strawberry Daiguiris and Four cheese Spinach Dip to start. The dip was good but the daiquiri's were suppose to have 2oz of rum but tasted like nothing and I'm a soft drinker and 2oz for me, I definitely would feel..I told the server and I guess she felt bad so she bought us another 1oz of rum to add to our drinks which we appreciated, after all we were paying $9.50 each daiquiri. After our app our server brought semi warm, hard buns with cold butter balls, which was supposed to be herbed whipped butter according to the menu....our main entree was pistachio crusted salmon topped with a mango salsa with a rice pilaf and veggies and 12oz veal chop with rosemary potatoes and veggies. My friend said her salmon was nice but needed more salsa and the veggies were almost raw and hard, the rice however tasted like Uncle Ben's pre packaged rice! ...My veal was really good hence the 3 star rating. We ordered coconut ice cream for dessert (which by the way was given 2 seperate dessert menus that were completely different) the ice cream flavor was really good except there was ice crystals in it...I think either the ice cream was old or the cover was off in the freezer...we informed the server and she removed it from our bill which we also appreciated. The manager, Vlad came by our table to inquire about our experience but he didnt know how to handle our feedback except by saying "if you have any issues just let me know" Ummm we just did!!!! SMH! Overall we had an OK dining experience, at least our server tried to resolve the issues we brought to our attention but I think its a Management issue with watered down alcohol and freezer burned ice cream to save money but our bill was over $100 and spending that much I'd expect alot more.

Not sure where to start... upon arriving to the re...

Not sure where to start... upon arriving to the restaurant, we were greeted by one of the cooks in a hairnet. He was acting as the host, and instructed the waitress where to sit us. We were seated in the same section as to where a table of 13 was throwing a birthday party. I'm not sure why... the restaurant was quite large and spacious, with a few diners scattered here and there.

The food didn't taste right either. Mussels and oysters didn't taste fresh. Caesar salad dressing tasted sour and linguine sauce was super bland. Each course to our meals also arrived at every 30 minute interval, after you're done with the previous dish. My mom got really tired of listening to clubbing music, while we waited for our food. Food was also delivered by the chefs. Not sure why, because the restaurant wasn't short staffed. Our waitress pretty much neglected us the entire evening. Service was so slow, and she never bothered checking up on us. As soon I was able to grab her attention, I asked for our coffee, cakes to go and the bill. She came back with the bill and the cakes, but didn't realize until the next day, she packed the wrong cakes! Coffee also took forever, because she had already forgotten about it. I asked for cream and sugar, and she came back with milk and sugar. I assured her it's ok, we don't want the cream anymore, because it would've been another long wait. She got pretty scary..... and said she'll bring the cream, even though I repeatedly I said I didn't want it anymore.

It was a truly odd dining experience from beginning to end. I recommend this place if you enjoy loud music, have a lot of time and need a place to chill. You'll be dining here for a minimum of 2 hours, waiting for service.

I just came back from Marlowe and can't help but share my experience with the public.
This was our first time at this place and we gathered for a friend's birthday. We had a gathering of 8 people.
First impression was good. Nicely designed interior.
We were sat at our table and given "drinks and food" menu.
I was glad to see they had my usual choice of draft beer only to be told they're out of it.
We then ordered a "Special" from menu. It includes 4 items: appetizer (salad), entry (pasta penne), main entry and dessert for a total of $45
The salad consisted of a few peaces of lettuce with a drop of sauce and cheese sprinkles.
Pasta penne was too sour and no one at our table ate it.
We called our waiter and told him that pasta wasn't edible. He came back a couple minutes later and announced that kitchen chef disagrees with us and considers pasta to be fine. No one ate the pasta and it was removed from our table.
It was time for main entry. Some of us ordered salmon, others ordered steak.
Those who ordered steak received rare meat even though they asked for medium cooked steak. Our birthday girl pulled a string from her peace of steak.
Salmon had a weird taste and was too dry to eat. Those of us who ordered it had to give it back because it was also not edible.
Desert was very good.
Music came on after 10 pm and was very loud, it was impossible to hear each other after that.
When waiter brought us our checks, he happily announced that pasta and main entry was removed from our bill. However when we looked at the break down of our bill we were shocked.
The price of 4 course meal was $45 and included 4 items: appetizer, entry, main course and dessert.
They decided to divide $45 by 4 and charged us $11.25 for a small plate of lettuce and $11.25 for a small slice of dessert.
We paid a lot of money for a ruined night and will never go back to this awful place.
Anyone considering spending time here. look elsewhere!!!

P.S: to Marlowe owner - your response feels more like an insult rather than apology.
Eight people can't all be wrong at the same time.
Seeing your response - it explains a lot!

- enormous wait time (was waiting for appitizer 1 hour)
- portion size is extrimely small
- desserts are terrible
We spent in this restaurant more than three hours waiting for our food - one hour for appitizer, one hour for main course, and another hour for dessert. Will never go there again.

This is obviously one of the most pleasant place to eat in the neighborhood. Every time I visit this place I am truly satisfied. They preserve their very high standard service and the topmost level of cooking they offer. You will be always satisfied with this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

Me and my wife had a lovely experience with marlowes, from the food to the staff services. They kept every smooth and helped out with any request we had at the time.

The reason for our visit was our wedding reception, we had trouble finding anywhere that would give us what we wanted and marlowes went above and beyond to meet the requirements we had.

Last weekend I held my daughter s baby shower at Marlowe s Restaurant. I can t tell you how happy I was with the amazing service and the quality of the food. It was held while the restaurant was closed, so it was quite private. We had the full number of guests that the party room would hold, but the room held everyone comfortably. Most guests arrived about a half an hour late and the staff served the appetizers at the perfect time. The meal was extraordinary. People had a choice between two salads and a soup. Many people chose a different option and they were all happy with their choice. The main course was a choice between chicken, salmon, steak, or pasta. All the guests were amazed at the quality of the food and the way it was served. The desserts were fantastic. I highly recommend the warm brownie with ice cream! The staff helped us with our sweet table and cut and served our cake for no additional costs. All the staff were friendly and accommodating at all times. They even went above and beyond for a guest arrived two hours late, to ensure that she received a full meal. I will definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to host a private party and I am considering having more events there in the future. Thank you to everyone at Marlowe for going above and beyond my expectations! It s a party we ll never forget!

Staff are rude and constantly asked us to order since their kitchen closes at 10. We had arrived at 8 for my friends birthday. They had one menu with no prices and paired two bills together. They also include their tip in the bill and you have no option for not paying it, even though their customer service was lacking.
