Not worth the price of admission. Price includes a 40 minute movie, whether you plan on seeing one or not. Overrun with loud, rowdy camp kids. Most of the aquarium is geared towards very young children so unless you have some, many attractions are walk-bys. Surprised that so many exhibits are full of artificial, dusty plants. Viewing area for the seal feeding is tiny. "Special exhibit" is 7 flamingos. Not all that special. Sorry to say, I don't recommend this aquarium. Go to the Bronx Zoo instead.

I wouldn t give any stars at all worst experience my kids were very upset with how fast we was in and out this place was not worth the fees they charge for such a short tour . I would have never left NY for this trash place.

I'm giving this aquarium 1 star because I have to give one to post a review. The tanks were dirty and just looked like giant blue cement pools. The areas were small for the animals living in them. The one door I passed looked like it should be in a haunted house, boarded up. Other doors were covered with huge plastic sheets and duct tape.

This is an incredibly fun aquarium - it s the perfect size to explore for a day! Not too big where it becomes a chore to go through and not small enough to be boring. Playing with the stingrays is awesome (though I ve seen this at other aquariums)! BUT even cooler and rarer you get to actually boop jellyfish on their heads!!!! Apparently this aquarium in particular are pioneers for cultivating jellies which is incredible! The seal feeding shows are well done too. Come by for a visit!

We love the Maritime Aquarium! It costs about $100 for our family for a day, but it is worth saving up for and going. A family membership is worth it if you are certain you will go three or more times in a year. Since we live more than an hour away, we do not do the family membership.

Very nice little aquarium. Though small it has a lot of character and charm. We really loved watching the Harbor Seals in the main atrium. Our 2 year old daughter probably could have Sat there all day watching the seals and telling us about how they were swimming and playing.

It was also nice that they include one of their educational IMAX films with the admission. We saw Oceans which was a delight for our little one who adores all things fish and sea life. Definitely a fun day trip.

When your kid gets to color their own seal and then send it into the ocean, you got yourself a pretty sweet memory. Add to that the many creatures that can be seen here, the Imax experience or even the playground upstairs, and it's all turning into a perfect day.

I wasn't sure how happy I was about sauntering through outdoor exhibits in January. But then I met Juno the beluga, and I was never the same. He was nuzzling a five-year-old against the glass! And grinning! And doing it again! Then he came over and made out with me against the glass*! I really don't think I'll ever be the same.

Granted, even as I grow old and wizened and miserly, I'm always ready to be instantly charmed by even pedestrian aquarium exhibits. I dig a little childlike wonder to break up the quotidian.

The sea lion show was great, if a little slow-paced--they performed a scene from The Cherry Orchard.*

Those badass hot pink tangles were jellyfish, the logs of mouth-breathing lumps were the moray eels, and the harmless-looking bores were the piranhas. My God, how I love them all.

Long time member here and plan to remain a member for life. I love bringing my daughter here to see the slowly rotating exhibits and catch our favorite sharks. Excellent soft play area for under 5s upstairs, and easy to spend most of the day here. IMAX theater attached is excellent - have seen several 70mm prints (Interstellar, Rogue One, The Last Jedi) and the price can't be beat.

Haven't been here in years and this visit really impressed! The maritime center has really expanded and is very child friendly. Lots of great things to see and lots to touch and interact with. Staff are all friendly and nice. This is a great activity for young and old alike!

Just have, pretty much, a saltwater animals and few snap turtle, salamander, frogs and 3 species of freshwater fishtank. If you would like to see freshwater fishtank go to some petstore because it's like the name says The "Maritime" Aquarium

Loved the emphasis the aquarium had on plastic waste and how we need to keep our oceans clean. Would have liked an exhibit to show what the ocean looks like now (coral bleaching, etc.) and what it could look like if we help keep our oceans cleaner. Lots of kids though! They were everywhere and was definitely the first aquarium I went to with so many kids everywhere. It was crazy, but that didn't take away from the great exhibits and ocean life there.

Came here for a family outing. We love the exhibits, due to covid a lot is restricted for our own safety. They have a glow in the dark exhibit, jelly fish (different species). The seals, which are so beautiful, the otter ( I felt in love with her, such a cutie). They have a large exhibit, so it doesn t disappoint. We loved it.

Great place to take your family. Staff is friendly. They hold events after hours for groups such as Cub Scouts where kids and family are allowed to sleep at the aquarium overnight and get to see some behind the scenes things.

This place is awesome for young children. They have a huge shark aquarium - which kids absolutely love. The diver's come to the aquarium on the weekends and actually swim with the sharks. My daughter and I went last weekend, and two diver's were there. They were in there with the sharks and it was completely safe. Definitely a learning experience for both kids and adults.

They've really outdone themselves with all of the improvements and additions...especially the octopus, never seen one close up before, so much personality... think Hank from Finding Dory ;) It honestly is AMAZING in there & we can't wait to go back very soon.
