Even with the Covid rules, this aquarium is wonderful. It's easy to follow the rules: advance-scheduled admission, masks, one way traffic, and six feet apart. The exhibits are still great and the animals don't know there's a pandemic out there. They were fun to watch and the accompanying plaques were interesting. My favorites: watching my daughter overcome her fear at the touch tank, the sleeping pile of meerkats, the Deep Waters special exhibits, and of course the sharks.

If you're looking to spend quality family time and learn about aquatic animals, then this should be on your "Must Visit" list. The Maritime Aquarium is a fantastic place to visit with kids of all ages. There's such a variety of aquatic animals to see and learn about. We were surprised to even see land animals in the aquarium as well. The Touch Pool (with stingrays and baby sharks) were one of my childrens' favorites. There's a no shoe play area up to 5yrs old located on the 2nd flr, where children can run, play and enjoy the safe soft obstacle course. A great bonus feature is the IMAX theater (you choose from the 3-4 titles listed) is included with the day admission. Although we traveled by car from NYC, it is an easy ride via Metro North from NYC. MetroNorth includes great day packages in their Get Aways section which includes a package admission, train ride etc. The MetroNorth is conveniently located close to the Maritime Aquarium. We truly had a fantastic family day! See picts below.

This is a nice aquarium but I wish there were more options. We only wanted to look around, but had to pay the same price as if we were going to watch one of the films that you can choose from. My one year old enjoyed herself and there are a lot of opportunities to touch different aquatic animals. It is a bit dated...but an overall nice thing to do with your kids for 2 hours or so.

Really enjoyed the shark dissection our group did. The IMAX theater needs more organization. No formal line people cutting I front to get in. The screen is old and there was a crease or blemish down the middle of it

Family friendly, highly educational. Pay to park with a short walk across the street to enter. One area was under remodeling. Expect to spend about an hour there, unless you add on an additional program or movie.

Great aquarium.

Great aquarium.
Very clean and well kept.
The animals and exhibits are all in very good and healthy looking shape.
Nice that it is inside .
Perfect for young children who want to see a variety of sea life.
Cafeteria is clean and food was pretty good.
Entrance fee was a bit on the high end, but it is a great place for a day trip.
Parking is right across the street and is only 8 bucks.

I brought my 2 littles yesterday (2 hour drive from where we live). I personally think the pricing is a bit high, BUT aside from that we loved this aquarium! We also parked in the wrong parking, where the IMAX entrance is instead of the main entrance. We have never been so I saw the parking and just figured that's where I needed to go. Woops! Our favorites were the sharks and the huge turtles! We also bought 2 stuffed animals for the kiddos. Overall we had a fantastic day and my 3 year old had so much fun!

I ordered my tickets online, and received them in an email. On the tickets it said that you don't need to print them. Get to the theater and find out that by not printing them, we have to stand in the line to purchase tickets so the front desk can print them out, which was extremely time consuming, especially when arriving at the theater only a few minutes before the movie was supposed to start. Once you get past that the theater itself is great, but the whole ordeal of getting into the theater put a bad taste in my mouth for the evening.

I have to say I was amazed by the animals n the atmosphere of this place, although its small, its worth the money. I have never seen my daughter so excited bout otters before, well I guess when its right there in front of u, its hard to not be excited... My favorite was the sharks, the tiny seahorse and the otters. I recommend this aquarium 110%

The maritime aquarium is getting better everytime we visit. It has a much improved upstairs exhibits and child play area. Before the upstairs exhibit was not that interesting but now it has monkeys and parrots and porcupines and many more exciting exhibits. The kids really enjoyed the new exhibits. The ticket cost now feels more bang for the buck. However the seal feeding was much shorter than before. The kids understood that it is more of a feeding but expected more audience interaction with the seals like before. Like always the cafeteria is pricey but the food is not bad especially the onion rings. We watched the imax movie which was good but seemed like the screen is a little dull or dim than other imax movie theaters. Maybe it's just me but it seemed different from the ones in the city. Anyway it was a great time spent during a rainy weekend. Which seems like every weekend these days.

Fun aquarium that s not too far for an entire family from NY/NJ. During Covid-19 they closed the outside area where they let their seals to swim around, but maintained
to open the most of their aquarium operations for the public. Parking is convenient and not pricey with the garage across street, and there re ton of nice restaurants near by.

Lots of hands on activities for kids: e.g. touching jellyfish, touching sting rays (large tank), educated staff interested in engaging with the children and helping to develop their knowledge and sensitivity, awesome seeing an octopus!

Was here for a banquet. Tons of little aquatic critters to look at. Only complaint is the lack of informational signs posted around or on the tanks. Would have been nice to learn about some of these sea creatures.

Fantastic aquarium with activities, exhibits and displays for kids (of all ages) and adults. The aquarium is in close proximity to SoNo and its shops and restaurants which makes it very easy to spend a day in the area.
