If you live in Fairfield County (or close enough) and have little kids, get a membership here. Come for a sea lion feeding, then let your kids wear themselves out in the soft play space (age 5? 6? and under). For a one-time visit, it may be a bit pricey if your kids aren't that into ocean life. Summer is a great time to visit with the outdoor exhibit featuring flamingos (2017), or butterflies, etc. The new jellyfish exhibit is also very cool even for adults.

Went to the maritime aquarium for the first time today and had a great time. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of animals. You can touch jellyfish and stingrays which was fun. The meercats were so cute and my favorite exhibit. We stopped by the cafe for some food, which was over priced and mediocre as I expected it to be. the people i went with were disappointed (apparently the cafe used to be much higher quality in recent years, they had the corn chowder and were disappointed). Overall we had a nice time.

Go early, it can get busy later in the day. Beautiful jellies, fun to touch the rays and sharks. Not only for kids. There is a big cafeteria there too, reasonably priced.

Fun time. Usually busy, rarely mobbed. Always enough to keep the kids entertained (I like the jellyfish). Nice birthday party program too. Neighborhood has good lunch and dinner options. Easy parking across the street.

So wonderful. Travelled all the way from Brooklyn and it was worth the 1hr and 15 min drive. Way better than Coney Island. Very good at keeping the attention of my toddler. Will return

We went for a field trip. It was a nice day. My son loved it but him and I wished there were more to see. He was expecting dolphins and whales etc. Its a much smaller aquarium then id expected. There were a lot of fish, frogs, jelly fish. You could pet the jelly fish and sting rays if you wanted to and they had sinks near by with soap and paper towel to wash up after which was a plus. The most fascinating thing was watching the sand tiger sharks they had in tanks. You got an up close experience looking at them. They allow you to take pics which was nice! They do have an I max theater that plays movies about nature and animals and such. That was a special part of the trip. Over all I might visit again if they make updates.

It is a pretty nice Aquarium but we didn't get to see most of it. It would have been nice if they had a nap of the place so we could know where to find exhibits. One of the adults in the play area bullied my grandchildren. Maybe they need someone to oversee the area. The petting area was really nice and one of the guys watching over it was extremely informative.

Such an easy, entertaining aquarium for young kids. The New Year's Eve celebration, hosted from 10 - noon, is also a sweet way to celebrate with youngsters without the drama of midnight tantrums.

It was smaller than I'm used to but it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Anyplace that has otters and meerkats is a good time for me. They are mostly concentrated on Long Island Sound sea life but it was educational.

Nannies/Babysitters unite This place is the place to be. Love this place in the cold of winter or a too hot day. Family fun day to kill a couple hours here is great. Love taking the kids here. Everytime they go its like seeing it for the first time. Not just marine animals, there is a nice butterfly garden outside. Good seating outside on a warm day to bring lunch or snack with view of the water. Def recommend.

Sea life cruise was amazing. There was a jellyfish enclosure that needed a person watching it to tell little kids not to touch which I thought was stupid to have it like it was if people couldn't touch.

Love this place. The aquarium is obviously set for children, however as a 23 year old I can still have fun here. They have a lot of touch pools and even one area where you climb under and pretend you're a muskrat .. yes I am still a kid inside. I've never touched jelly fish heads before! awesome.

You can easily spend at least 3-4 hours here -- there was a lot to see. They even let the seals come out of the pool and come out near the walkway, so people can come up and personal with them. I don't really understand the parking in this area though, it's quite far from the entrance. Though there's a general huge parking lot right across. The design of this place is really refreshing and a cool environment to be encouraged to learn about all kinds of things. They're also super into social media and even have a live stream of the jelly tank they have. Yes!!! Awesome.

The Maritime Aquarium is awesome. There's much to see and experience. They have a 45min IMAX movie, hands-on exhibits, feedings, and nice exhibits.

We brought our 15 month old who was a little too small for the touch tanks, but he absolutely loved seeing the sharks, jelly fish, and other exhibits.

It is a okay place for family visiting. Some exhibitions and a play area for kids under 5. Kids have chance to touch jellyfish and stingray, which is nice. But water is dirty mainly. I can even smell dirty water outside the window.

A great aquarium with a very wide range of both fauna and flora. Great shark tank! All areas are easily accesible and the overall layout is child-friendly. Admission is a bit steep, but it is worth the price.

The aquarium was nice, clean and not terribly crowded. I would have given it more stars but the outdoor exhibits were closed due to construction with no warning on the website. We came all the way from NY. The kids still enjoyed but we would have been better off going to Riverhead.

Great aquarium. Not too big or crowded. Way cheaper than Mystic. The neighborhood is also really cool. The cafe is alright, though it's nothing special. The touch tanks are nice and the staff is friendly. I would go again and probably will.
