Well maintained and clean environment for all the animals. Staff throughout the place were very kind and informative. It is a nice to place hangout with kids on an afternoon and enjoy the tanks. Touch tanks were cool, nice experience for adults and kids who wanted to get closer experience with the sea creatures. Food at cafe, options were minimal but good enough for a quick munch. Parking garages were plenty and very conveniently located near the entrances.
Overall a nice place to hangout with kids for a half a day trip.
Staff was bland and seemed unexcited to be at work. Very crowded with lots of rude children with parents that would not control them. Therefore, could not get to half of the exhibits to view or read what was there. VERY expensive to not to be able to see all of the exhibits!!!
Good aquarium with lots to do and see. Nice emphasis on looking after the environment and some information on local marine life. Only downside is that some of the enclosures I felt were a little small (seals and shark displays) for the number of animals inside.
A place to have fun, and learning new things. A complete family entertainment. Touching jelly fishes was strange experience.
This is one of Connecticut's hidden gems. Clean, well laid out and fairly priced. I enjoy this aquarium more than Mystic.
Nice aquarium but can get crowded fast. Go on weekdays since there are less people. Weekends are havoc cause everyone comes like and you can't walk 2 steps without bumping into someone. The seal show is good and the place is clean. See the sharks and wave to the otters.
A great place for children and aquatic explorers of all ages.
I brought my kids here over the winter bc snow days were getting dreary... Lots to do and entertain the kids with. Can't wait to see the summer exhibits!
Great local attraction. Can also become members at a low yearly rate and visit unlimited times. Perfect place to spend the afternoon with your kids. Staff is super friendly. The IMAX is a big hit with the kids
It's unfortunate but I always compare aquariums to the one in Atlanta. This is a dated place that only has local creatures, which is great for those looking for that. But I love seeing marine diversity from around the globe and this aquarium just doesn't have it. It's a minor league farm team compared the perennial powerhouse that The Georgia Aquarium is.
The Maritime is a pretty neat place, with interesting things. The service when entering is VERY slow (I'm talking 40 minutes slow).
I love aquariums. This was the first aquarium I ve been to in the state of Connecticut. There were restrictions and limited occupancy due to the state guidance on COVID (this was during Phase 2.1 of the reopening), so buy tickets ahead of time. I really enjoyed the meerkats and meditating on the Great Pacific Octopus. The female laid eggs during the shutdown and is currently in her senescence phase, so she isn t long for this world. The male GPO is going to be moved to her larger tank after she passes.
Overall not bad. Decent amount of exhibits and various aquatic animals. However for the high price of admission per person, they should have a little bit more things to see. Decent exhibits we're just the seals and the sharks.
Had a wonderful time here with my 6 year old grandson! Lots of hands on stuff for kids.
Excellent place for both adults and children. Highly recommend their IMAX theater as well
Really fun family friendly aquarium. The touch tank is really cool, being able to touch manta rays. The seal feeding is really fun too. And the jellyfish exhibit is awesome. The whole place takes about 90 minutes to get through, so it s the perfect length if you have little kids. Prices are a little steep but it s good to support a business that s been there 30 years.
Beautiful aquarium nice fish assortment. Interactive activities for children.
Fun place for kids staff is friendly and full of answers
Good for younger kids. Most kids older than 10 or so may find it a bit boring.
Very big and well set out. You can't exhausted in a day. Lots of engaging exhibits for kids as well as informative for adults. The Imax movie theatre is a great touch too. They show awesome informative videos.
Great for kids. Was under construction when I went but still fun.
Cool... I guess. You can see every exhibit and a 40 min IMAX movie in less than three hours. Expensive for 3 hours of fun. Price aside, cool way to kill 3 hours.
I've been going since I was a child and now I get to bring my children there. Love the renovations can't wait until it's finished.
I thought it was a little over priced for a senior citizen
Great for something to do with your family! I especially love the imax!
This aquarium is great because they have lots of marine animals on display and interactive exhibits to help teach kids.
Terrific place to bring a family to learn and explore!
The movie theater in here has really good movies, keeps you entertained all the time while learning about wild life.
Always have a great time with the family, the staff are always pleasant and helpful.
Expensive but limited in size. I've been to several aquariums and this one strikes me as pricey for what is offered. It's certainly a good place to bring kids and the membership is a solid deal if you're going to go regularly, but I wouldn't stop again on my way somewhere.
It's a very small aquarium but has nice things to view
The place was excellent for the family which includes two young kids. The size is just right for small kids. Small enough to be able to get to and do everything, yet large enough to offer variety. The food at the cafeteria wasn't too bad either when compared to other cafeterias.
Clean, intimate environment, with engaging exhibits
What a great fun day for the whole family. Fair price with such awesome experience
Love this place .... The best place to bring children 10 and under
Very good overall. Loved the section on what species of fish are best to eat from a sustainability standpoint.
We all loved our visit! My 5 year old begged to go back to the aquatium the entire rest of our trip to CT.
Friendly love the snow in the lobby by the seals it was great
We took our 10 month old son there for his 1st time and he really enjoyed all the exhibits. It was fun! Very clean and they follow all CDC protocols for public safety and cleanliness.
We love this place. While small, it is the perfect size for young learner's! My son asks to go all the time, thankfully we have a membership so we can! There is a ton of construction going on, but once inside, it's easy to forget about. The gift shop has a large variety of items for everyone in the family, as well. The concessions can be expensive, but there are plenty of other restaurants in the area.
Very nice for a family trip. Sea turtles are pretty co and you can touch a shark and a jelly fish.
Take the family and go for a day. You will not be disappointed
A nice Aquarium for kids as well as adults. They have hands on exhibits, a playroom for younger kids and an IMAX theater. Not expensive either for all that you can see.
One of my favorite aquariums. A must with kids or alone. It s a short drive and less congested than NY Aquarium.
Loved this place since I was a little kid... So much fun being able to now take my daughter and see the wonder in her eyes that I remember experiencing as a child... IMAX theatre is something you CANT MISS
Very nice place for children. Have hands on experience. Good for all ages. Cafeteria serves decent food at reasonable prices
Really fun aquarium. Enjoyed the seal show and butterflies. Smaller then mystic aquarium.
We went to see a movie at the Imax and did not visit the aquarium, so this is just on the theater.
very good for a local aquarium. the butterfly zone was cool. been to many aquariums around the nation and this is the only place to have a jellyfish touch tank! absolutely enjoyed it. actually there were more touch tanks with different animals to feel. must see place if ur around town
My family loves coming here. They used to have more activities for kids like boat building. And we miss the kamoto dragons. We hope they bring these things back
Great time, good social distancing, lots of sinks throughout for continuous hand cleaning.
Had a great time with my family of four, tickets include the movie there, parking is right across the street which is great. Food is always the same for kids in all places, But I think you could bring small snacks In. Very interactive touches jellyfish, stingrays, crabs, starfish very awesome. Also metro north is right there.
Best place to be, there is group discount if you make a reservation be hand.
