Small and cosy venue, lots of amenities nearby with a very small reception space.
Really nice theatre. Went to see my son's Identity show case. Best performances ever.
Lovely place, great staff, went to see Avenue Q (Which was awesome)
Great venue for plays - good theatre space and plenty of raked seating. BUT: hard to find location wise (it confused my gps and I had to call, ask two strangers and eventually do a shout out in a local Tesco's where coincidentally the playwright was shopping and therefore answered me!), pokey foyer and teensy bar with minimal seating. Will think twice before I return, if ever.
Lovely experience. I attended a very useful workshop here
Went to see Take me Back by Ange La Mar. Nice venue for theatre productions. Stage is well situated in the favour of the audience.
Staff here are top notch, particularly tech manager Martin, can't thank him enough for his amazing job on a production I was involved in. Has a bar and bar area seating. Has a great range of shows on and kids clubs in the day time. Has a lift, seating is raked. Well worth a visit both as audience member and production
Good theatre. Easy to find with good access to parking. Bar on site.
Great and reliable staff! Awesome rehearsal and Theatre space
Great theatre, performed here multiple times and always felt welcome!
Watching the we sat at the back but could see the stage clearly
Went to visit my friend perform here. Very warm and open atmosphere with great shows being put on around the year.
Great ticket prices and good selection of drinks and snacks (and ice cream) to eat before or during an intermission.
Great location away from too much hustle and bustle. More people need to know about this gem
Lots of great fringe shows and titles like urine town. Nice bar and stage set up too.
Nice plays, nice venue. I hire the rehearsal rooms sometimes.
Its a wonderful place. I went with family to see my daughter Roxane perform in a belly dance show. Its clean, tidy, has a lift for the disabled as the stage area is on the 1st floor. There is also a bar on the 1st floor selling snacks and drinks.
This was the worse experience ever!.....
Please do not waste your money on this place.
I found this theatre online as I was looking for a
Place to rent for my up and coming dance classes.
I found this theatre online and chose it because it was in a gd location amd the pictures online where of a gd standard.
HOWEVER!! I Went to visit the theatre early on the day of my first dance class as I had not yet seen the studio that I would be using.
There was none to greet me upon arrival, and the theatre was occupied, by teachers and there student.
I made my way, and found studio 2, which was a complete mess!! It had food and drinks everywhere.
A teacher then approached me and asked who I was. I told her my reason and she said that there was no one on site to talk to and the room would be clean when they where done.
I then emailed and informed the staff that I had been to the theatre and what my standards where and what I expect when I came later in that evening.
The room was very small nothing like the picture!
It was dingy, small, no windows, dirty walls and mirrors and no proper AC!.
I the emailed the theatre at complain of this and if anything could be done as I was willy to come to some agreement. They then responded will a very impolite and unprofessional email and cancelled my classes without notice.
This has now inconvenienced my classes and now I have to find another studio to hire.
This is not worth a dime!
DONT DO IT!
Saw a fantastic production of Sweeney Todd by the Goods Theatre Group. Incredible Production and Atmosphere
Just a short walk away from Stockwell station is a relatively large rehearsal and theatre that for years I didn't know about! The rehearsal rooms were great for purpose with dance floors and mirrors if you wanted them (and curtains to hide them if you didn't). They buzz you into the building so it's nice & secure and we were only asked to leave by the next booking - a baby ballet class in tutus! A very friendly vibe. #DavidBowieis
Hussain's House was great but where we all had to wait before hand in the holding room was very hot and there was not a lot of room there, not good for people who hate confined spaces. And what made it worse was the staff knew all of this but didn't let us go into the Theatre for a time before the show started. However, the theatre itself is very small but it was very nice, the seats were ok and there was lots of leg room. So in terms of the theatre my experience was mixed, but luckily the show and more importantly the meet and greet beforehand with Hussain and Bailey McConnell from this year's Britain's Got Talent saved the night as purely for that it's a night I will never forget.
Its a nice and cosy theatre but the floor is uneven and it is covered with carpet. I would not advise wearing heels here as I nearly tripped and hurt my ankle. The seating is uncomfortable and my bum ended up hurting. There is a bar where you can purchase drinks.
Nice and small theatre up close & personal. Not much parking at show time don't park on double lines you will get a ticket.
Came here to watch a show that my friend was the musical director for. The show was great but the auditorium itself needs ventilation as you're always just breathing what feels like dust. You can tell how much cleaner the air is as soon as you step out of it into the bar area.
The bar is cheap and the staff are friendly.
Nice theatre, if a bit far off the beaten track. It's a small community theatre with great seating and good views. The bar is super cheap for a theatre as well. Easy, quick walk from Stockwell station.
Lovely theatre, with small bar upstairs, that provides a varied programme.
A great little venue where you are always close to the action. Even of a little run down.
Good night out with friends wish there was better choice of food
Very friendly theatre. Went to see a dance performance here. Bar was well priced. Waiting areas quite small but can't really complain. They support some great projects
Nice selection at the bar, fairly comfortable seats usually something interesting on area improving.
Had a fantastic night...excellent show...brilliant cast and playhouse crew ...rate it 100 %....
The take me back play was amazing, grest actors and playwright, however the lobby needs updating and a sign indicating where the theatre is, is need.
Venue quite small but in desperate need of air conditioning. Even actors were melting with sweat. Needs updating, made watching play uncomfortable. Only one section for interval with 1 person serving making queues extremely long that people went to Tesco next door.
The theatre size was smaller than I expected however the hall acoustics is one of the best I've experienced in London. Sat all the way at the back row, dialogue was very audible, even the faintest sigh!
The Rally was amazing! Top Actors .. definitely delivered
Great theatre saw In the Heights here. Brilliant performance
Small local theatre that showcases am dram and local theatre groups.
This is a big space with 2+ dressing rooms and great space its also near a train and tube station
Very small, very dusty, more like a school play feel. However the actors were good in performcence. They were interacting with the audience which I found strange rather than telling the story they were talking to us. The theatre is not very professional. Not what I was expecting.
Went to Stockell Playhouse for the welcome return of Angie Me Mar. It was great to be there. The venue felt just right - very intimate in comparison to when I have seen Angie - I think it was at Hackney Empire, some years ago. Hadn't quite appreciated how busy Angie had been in the intervening time. Also hadn't appreciated how very talented Angie's family are. Whilst I have nothing at all against the 'family affair' approach, I really wanted more of Angie, for old times sake!
Great shows and facilities, and a friendly, approachable team.
The place is too hot, no ventilation. Not only on the seating area but on the stage too!
No baby change facilities - disappointing!
