Great venue for plays - good theatre space and plenty of raked seating. BUT: hard to find location wise (it confused my gps and I had to call, ask two strangers and eventually do a shout out in a local Tesco's where coincidentally the playwright was shopping and therefore answered me!), pokey foyer and teensy bar with minimal seating. Will think twice before I return, if ever.

Staff here are top notch, particularly tech manager Martin, can't thank him enough for his amazing job on a production I was involved in. Has a bar and bar area seating. Has a great range of shows on and kids clubs in the day time. Has a lift, seating is raked. Well worth a visit both as audience member and production

Went to visit my friend perform here. Very warm and open atmosphere with great shows being put on around the year.

Great ticket prices and good selection of drinks and snacks (and ice cream) to eat before or during an intermission.

Great location away from too much hustle and bustle. More people need to know about this gem

Its a wonderful place. I went with family to see my daughter Roxane perform in a belly dance show. Its clean, tidy, has a lift for the disabled as the stage area is on the 1st floor. There is also a bar on the 1st floor selling snacks and drinks.

This was the worse experience ever!.....

This was the worse experience ever!.....

Please do not waste your money on this place.

I found this theatre online as I was looking for a
Place to rent for my up and coming dance classes.

I found this theatre online and chose it because it was in a gd location amd the pictures online where of a gd standard.

HOWEVER!! I Went to visit the theatre early on the day of my first dance class as I had not yet seen the studio that I would be using.

There was none to greet me upon arrival, and the theatre was occupied, by teachers and there student.
I made my way, and found studio 2, which was a complete mess!! It had food and drinks everywhere.

A teacher then approached me and asked who I was. I told her my reason and she said that there was no one on site to talk to and the room would be clean when they where done.

I then emailed and informed the staff that I had been to the theatre and what my standards where and what I expect when I came later in that evening.

The room was very small nothing like the picture!
It was dingy, small, no windows, dirty walls and mirrors and no proper AC!.

I the emailed the theatre at complain of this and if anything could be done as I was willy to come to some agreement. They then responded will a very impolite and unprofessional email and cancelled my classes without notice.

This has now inconvenienced my classes and now I have to find another studio to hire.

This is not worth a dime!

DONT DO IT!

Just a short walk away from Stockwell station is a relatively large rehearsal and theatre that for years I didn't know about! The rehearsal rooms were great for purpose with dance floors and mirrors if you wanted them (and curtains to hide them if you didn't). They buzz you into the building so it's nice & secure and we were only asked to leave by the next booking - a baby ballet class in tutus! A very friendly vibe. #DavidBowieis

Hussain's House was great but where we all had to wait before hand in the holding room was very hot and there was not a lot of room there, not good for people who hate confined spaces. And what made it worse was the staff knew all of this but didn't let us go into the Theatre for a time before the show started. However, the theatre itself is very small but it was very nice, the seats were ok and there was lots of leg room. So in terms of the theatre my experience was mixed, but luckily the show and more importantly the meet and greet beforehand with Hussain and Bailey McConnell from this year's Britain's Got Talent saved the night as purely for that it's a night I will never forget.

Its a nice and cosy theatre but the floor is uneven and it is covered with carpet. I would not advise wearing heels here as I nearly tripped and hurt my ankle. The seating is uncomfortable and my bum ended up hurting. There is a bar where you can purchase drinks.

Came here to watch a show that my friend was the musical director for. The show was great but the auditorium itself needs ventilation as you're always just breathing what feels like dust. You can tell how much cleaner the air is as soon as you step out of it into the bar area.

The bar is cheap and the staff are friendly.

Nice theatre, if a bit far off the beaten track. It's a small community theatre with great seating and good views. The bar is super cheap for a theatre as well. Easy, quick walk from Stockwell station.

Venue quite small but in desperate need of air conditioning. Even actors were melting with sweat. Needs updating, made watching play uncomfortable. Only one section for interval with 1 person serving making queues extremely long that people went to Tesco next door.

The theatre size was smaller than I expected however the hall acoustics is one of the best I've experienced in London. Sat all the way at the back row, dialogue was very audible, even the faintest sigh!

Very small, very dusty, more like a school play feel. However the actors were good in performcence. They were interacting with the audience which I found strange rather than telling the story they were talking to us. The theatre is not very professional. Not what I was expecting.

Went to Stockell Playhouse for the welcome return of Angie Me Mar. It was great to be there. The venue felt just right - very intimate in comparison to when I have seen Angie - I think it was at Hackney Empire, some years ago. Hadn't quite appreciated how busy Angie had been in the intervening time. Also hadn't appreciated how very talented Angie's family are. Whilst I have nothing at all against the 'family affair' approach, I really wanted more of Angie, for old times sake!
