The Library of Hattiesburg, Petal, & Forrest County

The main library is absolutely stunning. Be sure to look up on the ground floor to see the 360 degree mural. The staff is very knowledgeable and there is virtually always a computer available in the lab.

I love going to the Hattiesburg library! It's such a pleasant place.

Hattiesburg isn't a big town but its library is something id expect to see in a much larger town. It's spacious and airy. The librarians are super helpful and friendly. Even with this COVID stuff, I'm happy they are open and masks are mandatory (thank goodness).

The library is very new and modern - very attractive. But they lack some basic services. If you wish to print from one of the library's computers, you may have problems. Their printer is a Cannon desktop. This printer really is not up to the volume of printing. And I was told this was the only printer in the entire library. There is a copier. But one can not print to this copier. And when I was there, there was something "wrong with the drum" of the Cannon desktop. It was printing very faint and not evenly on the page.

I absolutely love going to both Petal and Hattiesburg Libraries!! I've never had to wait to use the computers, the atmosphere is always cozy, and the Hattiesburg location has an amazing children's floor! It almost makes me want to be a kid again lol. Of course with the CoVid19 Pandemic, you MUST wear a mask and stay 6 feet away from other, also known as "Social Distancing." Although I didn't find what I was looking for, I did find the Website so I could at least read about the place and look at some pictures. Another plus is that their bathroom was clean, neat, and well-supplied with all the necessities required. There are multiple tables, chairs, and quiet and private nooks to read and relax. In addition to books, you can also check out DVD movies and books on Audio. You can use the printer or the copy machine to print pages for $ .20 per page, and there are 3 floors equipped with stairs and elevators. I definitely recommend this business to everyone, especially if you're a student, whether it be Kindergarten or College!

They helped me copy some forms that I needed help with.its the 4 time I've been there in the last couple of weeks.They were very helpful each time.

This is a great library with lots of activities going on. The children s librarian is the best ever and we LOVE coming to storytime and hanging out in the children s area!

I only use this library because it's the closest to me. I do like the amenities: create an account and renew books online and checkout restrictions allow you to owe up to $25. But, I read basically nothing but graphic novels, and this library has a very lacking collection compared to Oak Grove and Purvis. I'd like to find more ANY Tezuka novels, for one. And there are many series that are missing the first issue, which makes me sad.

We are blessed to have an amazing library in both Hattiesburg and Petal. The staff is friendly and helpful. I absolutely enjoy each visit.
