Very disapointed . Then menu is ok lacks a bit of selection. Also as other have said a little over priced. When the food comes out presentation is good. I had the spit roast chicken . I can honestley say it was terrible . I have never had a chicken so over cooked in my life , it was very dry and stringy. Not at any time did anyine come to ask me if i required anything or if my meal was ok. My exlerience in a nut shell the Langton looks the part but service and food quality have a lot to be derired. I will certainly not be returning.

Friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Little bit up its own... Type of place but food was nice although slow however the place was rammed. Would suggest booking is probably essential most weekends

I am a regular at this pub and over the last few months the service has becone increasingly and noticably worse. The Doom Bar is repeatedly unavailable, there are poor explanations and service is nothing like it used to be. Such a shame. Great location and venue but obvious lack of attention to detail. Disappointing.

The Langton was, as ever, fantastic. Family tradition of going for my Birthday on New Years Eve and we had lunch this year instead of the usual dinner. Food was excellent and really love the ambiance still. Our waiter Ben was really friendly and helpful and added a really personal touch with a birthday candle in my desert. We love this place!!

Visited for dinner yesterday and was very impressed. Really extensive menu given the current times and was very well looked after by Millie. Food and drinks were presented beautifully and served quickly. Really appreciated being served a non alcoholic drink in a pretty cocktail glass. Often if it s not alcoholic it s just a beaker but not in this case. Thank you The Langton and Millie.

Much better than the last time visited. If you are eating, must have a different chef. Food and menu vastly improved. Great place to have a drink also, well laid out and a pleasant atmosphere.

Quite quiet in Langton however had to wait a while to get drinks. We did eat late afternoon, food was excellent. Drink prices a little expensive, had a superb bottle of Gavi though. Would thoroughly recommend.

Really lovely lunch today to celebrate my daughter s birthday. Felt safe re Covid and although we had only a few sharing plates ( and a yummy dessert) the food was great and we felt well looked after, by all of the staff, but especially Archie. We ll hopefully be back soon

Nothing special food wise. Looks amazing from the outside, no question. But the roast dinners we had were expensive and average at best. Veg was tasteless and probably frozen, beef wasn't great either. Wouldn't bother again.

We ate at the Langton on Saturday evening, 12th September. We loved it. The menu was great it included plenty of exciting options for the vegan in our group. The service, from Archie, was brilliant too, quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks The Langton. We'll be back.

A nice pub and restaurant - I would say it is more of an eatery than a pub, and most of the seating is given over to diners. However it also has a lovely beer garden at the back, great for a sunny day

Came here for a Sunday Lunch and it was spot on - fresh ingredients and good quality roast meats with a tasty gravy. Slightly on the expensive side for a roast dinner but can't fault the food or the service. Plenty of parking and the building (both internally and externally) is in keeping with be Georgian history associated with Cheltenham.

Nice pub with a super beer terrace in summer. Food is consistent and tasty but it's by no mean cheap. I've been here where staff have struggled with cocktail orders which has resulted in long queues but stick to beers and wine and YOU'LL BE FINE!

Went there for my father in laws birthday, 12 people including children on a Saturday evening. The environment and ambiance is very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The food however was not good, especially for a Saturday night when they should be on their top game.

Starter: three of us had calamari, which was barely warm and tasted only of batter, no sign of any squid. I complained and this was taken off the bill.

Main course: rump steak. This was very good and nicely grilled. The chunky chips however were overcooked, luke warm and not crispy, maybe suffering from the same lack of attention as the calamari.

Dessert: the baked Alaska was beyond awful. The meringue was like clotted cream and cold, the ice cream an impenetrable blob in the middle. A similarly horrid fate was in store for two of the party who ordered the ambassadors melting chocolate bomb - essentially an Easter egg of dark chocolate served with hot white chocolate, the latter congealed and so impossible to pour over to melt the bomb as intended. Overall both these offerings reminded me of those ready-made desserts you often get in Indian restaurants. Simply appalling.

I ve always been loyal to The Langton and over the years have enjoyed various birthday, special occasion celebrations and, throughout last decade or so, took most of my friends and colleagues there for lunches, dinners and drinks. It ll be fair to say that over the years, myself and my numerous friends have contributed significantly to The Langton s revenues. However after this week I WILL NEVER put my foot through the door of The Langton again.

On Monday afternoon, after my colleague and I have accidentally exited through the (now) entrance only door of The Langton after having after work drinks there, we ve ended up being CHASED down the car park by the manager, shouting abuse to us for breaking COVID regulations and acting in a very embarrassing, aggressive and humiliating way to both myself and my colleague. We have left the Langton physically shaken by his anger and volatile attitude.

On Wednesday night we ve returned to The Langton, as it was a birthday booking for my best friend and she didn t want to change the venue last minute. I was apprehensive about going back after Monday s incident, but hoped that the manager from Monday will either not be on duty that night or will act in a respectful, dignified and professional manner and will avoid causing me further distress. Instead, he publicly humiliated me, in front of all my friends, as soon as we ve entered the building, saying that he was going to cancel my booking after I ve broken COVID rules on Monday and that my behaviour on Monday was disrespectful towards the entire hospitality sector.

Needless to say, such behaviour is completely unnecessary, unacceptable and unwelcome from a member of staff, especially the manager. Even after Monday s incident, we still decided to support our local business on the last night before the lockdown and instead of being made to feel welcome for bringing the business to Langton before they closed the next day, I ve been humiliated and disrespected by extremely unprofessional manager of the pub. My last night out before the lockdown 2.0 was completely ruined because of this.

Neither myself nor my friends will ever return to the Langton again. I m appalled and extremely upset with the way I ve been treated in this place.

I visited the Langton on the 2nd Jan for my 21st birthday. I think this is the first time I've ever bothered to write a review after eating somewhere, which proves just how good this experience was. My girlfriend and I were served by Kasia and she couldn't have provided better service. She was so nice, constantly smiling and made sure we had everything we needed (I work in a restaurant and understand how annoying/stressful even waiting on can be and she didn't show any sign of that to us). We ordered the Salmon with Brocoli and the Seafood Linguine dishes and had nothing to complain about. The food was gorgeous. I've genuinely never tasted a better Seafood Linguine anywhere else and the dish looked amazing. Apparently the kitchen staff had been made aware that it was my birthday so, when we ordered the brownie and ice cream pudding, we both got a portion each, along with THE BEST homemade cookies I've ever eaten, with the dish decorated with chocolate sauce. Overall, value for money, food quality and service were all perfect. We were made aware that only a few dishes weren't available on the menu (including all pizzas) but this was completely fine as Kasia let us know as soon as she served us. The only shame was not being able to try the chunky chips but, it's not that deep and the skinny fries were great. The one thing I can flaw with the whole experience was that the restaurant part of the pub was empty. We were the only table in the restaurant area, which was strange, but there was enough atmosphere coming from the bar area. To be fair, it was a Thursday night at 9pm but it's a shame you guys didn't have more customers. This is my first ever restaurant/pub review and I'd normally joke about people that write these but, you guys obviously did something right if I'm posting one. Thank you so much for such a nice evening. Compliments to the chefs and all staff.

Huge thanks to Brian for going the extra mile to accommodate my unusual food intolerances

A great place to eat for either lunch or dinner . The menu is great and the quality of the food and drink are fantastic.
There are plenty of places to sit from a relaxed bar or in the stylish restaurant. The menu is uncluttered with a good choice of mains.
Overall a great gastro pub/restaurant. You pay more than other places but worth the money.

Hello. we visited Wednesday 4th Feb for my Son in Law's 40th birthday .The dining room was so cold - the staff were very good and changed our table into another room with an open fire burning- slightly better.
The description of the "double cooked chips " was probably correct as they just seemed to have been warmed up again and very hard -and almost black .
Three of us had the cod with a sort of mushy peas - but why mess about with the basic flavour - these were awful - whatever was added to them .!
No won't visit again in a hurry . by the way we didn't complain at the time because young children were
with us and we didn't want to spoil their evening

Very fast service by very friendly staff. Not sure of her name but we were greeted by a very friendly woman with short blonde hair and then had a young man whose name I believe is Archie gave us friendly but also very efficient service and was very helpful. Food was also delicious (my wife and I had the deep fried brie starter to share and the dirty burger for mains).
