Wow, what an awful experience! Whoever is the manager needs to be replaced immediately (look at the other Google Reviews). Went there for lunch and the food was good, but the service was abysmal. I would have walked out, but was enjoying the live Jazz. We were seated for 20 minutes before a waitress even said hello, then disappeared for another 15 minutes. Then we ordered, food came timely, then dirty dishes sat on table for 40 minutes after we were finished. It was funny, bussers were walking around tending to other tables and just ignored us. I've seen worse service at a crappy diner, but at a place like this?? Seriously, time for the management/owners to step in and make some changes.

Barry Levy: We went to the Lambs Club for Dinner on 1/25/13 after making a reservation for a Restaurant Week Dinner earlier in the week. When we arrived we were told that they only served the Restaurant Week Menu in the Mezzanine and that it was full, and then we were told that they weren t serving it that night. Then the story changed back again to that it was only being served upstairs. The manager agreed that a mistake was made on the reservation, but was rude when he told us that they would not accommodate our Restaurant Week Reservation in the normal dining room. We were confused both by the story changing and also by the fact that even though they agreed they had made a mistake, they weren t going to do anything about it. We left without eating anything.

It is a great establishment, pretty classy and great view . I gotta say my drink was on point , worth the price I paid. Food was good also , really a 1st time date kinda place if one wants calm and attention.

We paid a lot of money to eat something bad. The service is ok and the restaurant look nice but the food is not at the level of a standing restaurant. There are so many good restaurants in NY so you should avoid this one.

Good food-get the salmon-and great wine selection. Decent liquor selection but missing some higher end whiskey. Most staff is kind and accommodating but some (one particular hostess) was rude to a friend of mine when we requested a chair to seat him next to his wife. That put a stain on an otherwise very pleasant evening. If you aren't dressed well, be prepared for some sidelong glances.

Came here with family for restaurant week at the Bar. It was delightful. The food was delicious and generous; tuna tartare was fresh, Italian burrata was creamy, pork belly was tender and the sauce not too strong, the scallops were flavorful, and the desserts weren't too sweet. The service wasn't particularly friendly but was nonetheless very good, never rushing our courses and always attentive. The ambience is lively and cool. Definitely recommend a visit to the Bar. (The downstairs had much too much overstuffed red leather for my taste.)

Love this restaurant, especially the beautiful fireplace. They have a non-alcoholic grapefruit and rosemary cocktail that is too divine.

But who am I kidding: I love being in this McKim Mead White treasure, so artfully preserved converted.

The good food is a bonus!

Zakarian deserves all the praise he gets. He is a master and his dishes are delicious masterpieces. Everything about this place, including the service and the decor, is excellent and worth the price. He sets hus own standards for doing his own thing his own way.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to!! Can't explain how great it was! Phenomenal food and exceptional service!!!! It's such an elegant place. Perfect for a date night or even a fancy dinner with friends and family!

The pasta that I have ordered was 30 dollars a bit pricey for a psta, the presentation was beautiful, the taste was honestly So So, really if you want to compare the taste you can get the same quality for 12 ish. Your paying for the ambience not for the quality food. I have travel the world just for good food, if you finding a restaurant for great ambiance this is the place, but if your looking for quality tasting food this is definitely not the place.

Highly recommend! I went with a group of hospitality professionals and even a chef. The service is outstanding and the food was fantastic. You almost didn t want to eat it because it was so beautifully plated. The cocktails are superior- some of the best we ve had in the city. I recommend the Snake Eyes. Their table side beverage cart service is such a fun and elevated option. A special thanks to our server Daniel who was amazing. Also, huge thanks to Jay, the general manager for anticipating our needs and making my friends birthday a night to remember. They both provided five star service that exuded luxury and refinement but was warm and relaxed at the same time. The service was elegant without feeling pretentious. That s hard to find at some of the best restaurants in the world. Geoffrey Zakarian should be very proud of his team. Thank you for the unforgettable experience!

Went to the Lamb's Club and got the Tuna Ceviche and the Scallops. I would order both dishes again but the scallops were outstanding. They were served with pork belly and fried anchovies and worked so unbelievably well together. The scallops were cooked beautifully, the pork belly crispy and the anchovies were meaty and fried to perfection. This is hands down one of the most memorable dishes I have ever eaten. To drink, I had the Lamb's Club cup cocktail which was light and refreshing and the perfect drink to accompany my meal.

This place is old-school fancy and the quality of the food is quite high. The prices and the average age of patrons are high too. As such, there is the slight hint of a corporate card vibe. Nevertheless, the tasty fare; the clean, upscale interior design; and the traditional, formal service make for a great experience. Not necessarily a hip date spot, but it's good for a post-theater dinner.

The venue is spacious with swank high ceilings and circular red leather couches. Trendy French music plays in the background at an optimal volume. The servers are all beautiful, friendly and attentive. Both food and drinks were delicious. Restaurant week (with a wine pairing option available for an additional $25) is offered in the Bar Room on the second level (slightly noisier, but a more vibrant scene often with live performances.

We have had mixed experiences here. Two years in a row we went for the December carolers' brunch. (It was the caroling that brought us to this restaurant in the first place -- and the first two years they were great, as was everything else!) We had a great time, and everyone enjoyed it (caroling, food and service!). In fact, we enjoyed it so much that this year my daughter requested that she celebrate her 12-year-old birthday at the Lamb's Club during December when the Christmas carolers were going to be present. (Last year the carolers did a stirring rendition of Good King Wenceslas!) The food (and service) were also excellent. This year I waited for the announcement that they would be taking reservation for the brunch and booked as soon as I could (for a table for 8 -- for my daughter and her friends). Since I booked so early, I figured we would be assured a good table. Wrong assumption! They stuck my daughter (a party of 8) in the front corner of the restaurant where they couldn't even see the carolers -- they were on the side and even behind them. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told, "The carolers travel around." Since this was our third time going, I knew that they traveled around, but I also knew that their time at each table was very limited. So I went out to the front desk and kindly asked the manager if he would get the carolers to sing a few songs for my daughters' birthday (and I gave him $60, which I asked him to give to the carolers). For that request, the carolers came over and sang "Happy Birthday" and one cheesy Christmas carol (so instead of one minutes, they got about 2 whole minutes of singing). Later on, when we asked for the check, the waiter said they were going to bring out some dessert to celebrate my daughter's birthday (nice, but the kids were full so that was really unnecessary and we had a cake at home anyhow). So I told him, "You know what my daughter would probably really like is for the carolers to sing some songs." OK, my hopes were up, only to be completely dashed when they came out and sang happy birthday again (not what we wanted), while serving my daughter some orange dessert that she didn't even like. One other thing -- the table where they seated my daughter's party was meant for 7 people and we had a party of 8. As an aside, in the past, the carolers have always gone around the room several times seeking requests, but we didn't experience that this time around. For what we felt had been such a classy restaurant, this was a disappointing performance, though admittedly the food was still delicious, as always.

Went to the bar for cocktails and wine. Beautiful restaurant and the cocktails were great! Then, we ordered a half bottle of Krug Champagne and this is what it was served in, a cheap white wine glass. Seriously, who serves Krug in a $1.50 generic wine glass? Not even a nice German crystal glass. Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, if you read this, please fix it. This is embarrassing.

Service was terrible. Our group came in for the restaurant week prix fixe, but when we were seated we were told that menu was unavailable and we were only given the option to pick the more expensive pre-theater prix fixe menu. After the meal, we waited at least an hour for the check, while the restaurant staff fawned over Geoffrey Zacharian. The restaurant wasn't even busy at the time, at least half the tables were empty at the time

I love the room, the food, and the drinks. Staff are warm and accommodating. Been eating here for years and have yet to have a poor experience. One of the best burgers in town, tartare is wonderful, and wine list is very solid (if expensive).

sat for our reservation at 1 pm. By 1: 24 pm, had to flag down a waiter to take our order. no one had even offered a drink or come by our table at this point. restaurant is half full since it's rainy today. By 1: 29 pm, waiter finally comes by, no apologies. This is the first time in my history of being alive of getting below average service for a restaurant of this pedigree. i do like the food so i'll be back, but be warned. service sucks. i come here frequently, actually, and the service is never great (today hit an all time low), but the food is worth it for me. if you're a first timer, set your bar low for service... but high for the food!

Been there three times over two years. They have lost the personal touch. Pushy waiter/waitress; robotic and slow service; treated like just another customer; over--priced. Has developed a snooty, even touristy feel. It is over for us.

By far the best breakfast we have ever had. Amazing service! French toast was soft and not soggy. The peanut butter strawberry compot was just right not to sweet. My husband's omelet was perfect. Fluffy with the right amount of filling. Really good coffee too.

Very poor service and experience at the lambs club. I say this as a huge GZ fan :(. 20 minutes for wine and 20 minutes for the check on a slow night. Food was merely ok. The worst part was the apathetic manager who made it seem like he could not be bothered with our issues of service.

Had an excellent sirloin burger with sweet potatoes fries in a beautiful atmosphere. We were there because we were seeing a matinee performance of Hello Dolly with Bernadette Peters. The reason I m writing this review though, is because I had the best Bloody Mary ever here. Hands down. It was perfect. One of those cocktail moments you have every once in a while. I haven t been back since but I think about it a lot. lol. I won t bother to describe it my vocabulary is limited. Stop by for brunch and see for yourself

We were not able to get a table at the restaurant. None of the personnel was nice enough to recommend the Bar upstairs as the alternative, there is a similar menu. We had hope that we can wait and get a table in the restaurant at the later time. We asked twice to be updated if we can get a table or not. Again, nobody bothered to let us know. We were completely ignored. The service at the Bar was even worst. There was literally nobody to serve us at the table. For example, we asked for extra bread. After 1/2 an hour of waiting we asked again letting the manger to know how long it takes. His only reaction was anger. We were not the only disappointed people. Couples at the table next to us were so angry they left without paying a bill, others loudly complained. Food was great, but we left disappointed.

I booked the dinner here according to the recommendation of the cat eagle member. I am very satisfied with my choice - the staff here are very attentive, polite and not flattering. The surroundings are classical (reminiscent of the Claremont Club in Downton Estate). What about the food here? I think it is comparable to the food in the French Michelin restaurant. It s very quiet here it s very uncommon in New York.

Great menu and very good food, although at these prices the food should be better still. A very nice room with good proportions, good acoustics and very comfortable seating, but they could ditch the dozens of faux:retro deco torchieres, which just look cheap. The only meaningful disappointment was the service, which was amateur and slow at best. Our first order of drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, in a room that was only half full. The waiter not only could not answer menu questions, but also had to write every cocktail and food order down.

The ambience is perfect, service was prompt and friendly, blood Mary was great and food was delicious. This is a hidden gem and perfect for brunch....at least that is what we had. I assume dinner and lunch as just as wonderful

We choose this location for our anniversary. Staff said they serve us before the show started. We never received our dessert and were charged full price. We had to rush out of there so quickly we didn't have time to dispute the bill. Resturant had nice ambiance and friendly staff. Over priced and disappointed in the experience. We barely made our show.

Nice spot to stop and have a drink at the bar. Civilized, but very pricey. Bartender was attentive and friendly.
The cheese platter was about a total of 2 oz of cheese and wasn't worth the price at all. The bread it came with was delicious. I wish I took a photo of it because it was laughable. 0 stars for that
By the way, when we came in to have drinks, they sent us upstairs and there was no room at the bar and no tables to be had (there were empty ones, but we were told they were being held for reservations). They are a little snooty there, so be prepared. So we went back down and sat at the bar at the entrance.

Beyond belief! Food was awesome and we got to meet Geoffrery.. It was our 25th Anniversary and they made the evening spectacular! The staff waited on us meticulously and even greeted us with champagne. New York should be proud to have this dinning experience... Wow!

The atmosphere was comfortable yet high class, reminiscent of Broadway and even a bit old Hollywood. Service was excellent as expected and the food was in one word, sublime! I can't wait to return to New York and eat here again!

Tons of celebrities, Amazing 5 star service and food, top of line premium price point but worth it!!!. The duck was insanely delicious. Tons of celebrities come here. A low key place to see and be seen. Expensive but worth every penny. Definitely dont be an annoying tourist when you come here and leave tables with celebrities alone. This is where they come to get away from the bs.

First time here for brunch. Really the the decor & atmosphere. The brunch menu is a bit limited but nonetheless good. The burger was delicious! The fries perfectly done & special sauce is delicious. Bloody Maria's were great, specially the bloody ice cubes. The cinnamon roll looks delicious, however I was a little disappointed. It was on the dry side, not warm & neither sticky. It was ok. The sharp cheddar & chive biscuit is unbelievable! So get it.
Looking forward coming back for dinner.
The live music was a great! A little loud but beautiful!

The food was served on time and it was great, with the ramen having great flavor, the chicken tonkatsu cooked perfectly. I was very happy that day. I will surely tell my family and friends about your wonderful service. Your company must be highly recommended! Cheer for your success!
