The Kessler Theater Review

I can't think of a better place to see Henry Rollins for the first time. This is a smaller venue that is full of depth and character. The staff was also extremely helpful and courteous.

This is a wonderful venue. The way it is set up makes every event very personal, intimate and cozy. You will be close enough to get the artist sweat on you!. Even the balcony is perfect for viewing any show. The bartender made some great drinks. There are lots of great restaurants really close by to dine before or after your experience. Wish the bathrooms were bigger but that is the only negative. Look them up and give this place a definite try. You won't be disappointed.

Great venue, great music, great artists, full bar, friendly staff, great location in Bishop Arts.

Intimate friendly environment for music. No elevator to second floor. Wish chairs were more comfortable, but I'd still go back.

Love this intimate, historical place. We got the cheap seats...I would recommend a pillow for your butt if you get those, because the chairs can get uncomfortable for a long performance. The food, snacks and drinks were delicious, and the entertainment was superb.

My favorite venue in DFW for hearing live music. Not a bad seat in the house, and some are spectacular, like the tables for 4 at the foot of the stage!

I love the Kessler. It's such a warm up close and personal experience to see a show in this smaller venue. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. It's almost like going to a party at somebody's house. Cute bar, good nibbles, easy parking. What more could you ask?

This was my first time at the Kessler and it was awesome. I loved the venue and I go to a lot of shows. It s well run, the drinks are great, and the bar is easily accessible. Two entrances from the bar area to the venue space make it easy to come and go. The ladies room was clean and well stocked of supplies.

Great venue perfect for a larger act who wants a small club feel. Beautiful old school theater setting and a progressive vibe. Awesome place.

Not a large venue but not tiny either. Intimate feel. Subdued lighting. Great, great acoustics. Sounds like you're listening through headphones. Great line of site on the floor of upstairs in the U-shaped balcony. One bar downstairs and one upstairs. Bathrooms downstairs only though. Eclectic acts and events. Stylish place. Old school marquee out front. Parking around the theater and walking distance in the nearby neighborhood. Love this place.

This is a hip small theater venue. You have good visibility and acoustics from almost everywhere even if you are standing. It can be a little crowded with popular groups. Bar staff are pretty fast and helpful.

So quaint and charming. Shawn Colvin was amazing and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.

I enjoyed the Kessler Theater. I went and watched Emily King perform and it was spectacular! I will say that the male bartender that was working wasn't very friendly. However other than the bartender my experience was great!

We've been to several shows here and always had a blast. Cool place.

Th sound was good, but the size was fantastic. Never a bad seat or floor location.

Front door service was excellent. Bartender downstairs could use some customer service skills but overall a great experience because of the show.

By far the best place to see live music in Dallas. The Kessler is able to bring in national acts as well as up and coming local performers. The bar is great, the service is impeccable, and the acoustics are spot on.

I've been fortunate to catch some of my favorite musicians perform at The Kessler. I've been even more fortunate to perform at the Kessler a handful of times. I always have a great time here on both side of the stage!

Not just the best place to see a show in Oak Cliff...but in all of Dallas!!! Intimate with unbelievable sound (oh yeah and a great bar). Kessler brings in the best talent around - some you ve heard of but many you have not (those are the gems that will keep you coming back here)...not a bad seat in the house but if you can score one of the two suites do it.

The venue is really great but please have a better ticket checking system or use waistbands or stamp hands or something to verify tickets for capacity safety. People were just walking off the street into the theater room.

We saw Hotter than Hell Burlesque and it was awesome! The venue is on the cold side, so be prepared!!!

Love this venue. Easy access, fast parking and no lines for the bar every time.

Always enjoy seeing great live music at the Kessler! Great venue with very friendly and helpful staff. Always been able to find parking in the surrounding neighborhood and I like that you can bring in outside food. You can hit the convenience store across the street for snacks. I'll keep going back!!

Wonderful venue. They hosted our students' Poetry Slam and it was the perfect size and atmosphere. We were all so excited and happy to be there!

Nice place but can be very crowded due to small size. So if you like close quarters you will love this place. They do have some nice shows come through.

I can not tell you the number of times we have gone to the Kessler. The shows are fantastic. The venue is intimate and there is not a bad seat in the house. Depending on who is playing, you might have the opportunity to meet the band. We love this place and recommend it to everyone.

This former movie theater is now an ideal venue for local, national or global musical acts. I've attended about a dozen events here, and other than one act with a bass player so loud I had to listen from the bar, each experience has been very satisfying. A top-notch facility and a staff that truly cares about its clientele make this a venue I am eager to re-visit.

WAY too small and crowded! It's surprising bands even book there. It's a run-down dump.

The sound system was very good and they did a good job on social distancing all the tables.

Saw Iron and Wine here the other night and it was magical. This place attracts a great concert crowd and there wasn't a bad seat in the house! Accoustics were just right and the staff was super friendly!

Love this venue. Classic/traditional vibe of an old theater but there are many amazing concerts there! The coldest beer I ve ever tasted, a wrap-around balcony at the top with seating. Solid venue!
