This is a cool venue. I have seen several shows at the Kessler. Never been disappointed until the Hal Ketchum show. No reflection on the Kessler, it s a great place to see a show. And Travis Linville, the opening act was absolutely great. Here s my beef. I paid to see and hear music. What I got was a great opening act and Hal Ketchum s political vent mixed in with music. If I had wanted political stuff I d have bought tickets to a rally. I bought tickets to a concert. I didn t want nor do I agree with his views. He has his opinions, everyone does. Keep em to yourself Hal. Just shut up and sing.
I sat thru 2 songs after the rant and the got up and left.
Thank you to Travis for saving the evening. He was worth the ticket cost on his own.
Hal, never ask an act better than you to open for you and keep your political BS to yourself.

What a great venue!! Every seat in the house is a great one to see on stage and hear the acts. Great pricing on tickets and bartenders do well with the drinks. Will definitely look at more shows in the future here!!

Saw the Paper Kites for a sold out show! Was a great aesthetic, the in-house sound tech controlled the volume and mix very well! Very few moments where it felt too loud! It did get pretty warm once all the bodies were in the room, but besides that had a great time. One of my favorite venues I've been to.

Not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are great and the soul of the place is authentic Oak Cliff. The Kessler theater is a very intimate place to see your favorite bands and songwriters showcased. I love this place, it is truly a treasure. #thebuckpets

Amazing! It's so refreshing to play a show here. The staff is great, the room sounds amazing, and the place feels like home. I could not have asked for a better night. Thank you very much for the experience.

This place is magic! Wear comfy shoes, because it's basically standing room only. There are some seats downstairs and upstairs, but at least the ones downstairs are just first come, first grab kinda thing. Next time will need to acquire an upstairs seat. The location is easy to find and in a cool neighborhood. The door guy was super friendly and recommended an excellent place to eat before the show. Just no complaints! Oh! And at least at the show we were at there was free water, which is awesome because I don't drink a lot of alcohol, so it was cool to get to have something for free. Clean bathrooms, clean venue, safe venue, easy to locate venue, cool neighborhood, nice venue staff, go check em out!

Lovely 60s vibe. They had a few tables set up, and it wasn't crowded. Music quality was superb, but relies on talented musicians...would be easy to create a near endless reverb. Also, they had part of sidewalk roped off, so was neat to sip a beer and feel like you were out in the city-ish.

This is one of the finest small theaters I have ever been in. The staff is incredibly friendly and the configuration for the show I attended allowed for tables close the stage, seating behind them and then the real gem, the reserved upper level. The small balcony with one comfortable chair angled perfectly (they move) allows for an unobstructed view of the stage, along with a private bar and bathrooms. What you go to a concert for is the sound, and it is an acoustically wonderful space. If you see an artist you enjoy come to this venue, see them. You will not be disappointed. A first class venue all around.

This is just converted hotel ballroom but it has been one of my favorite places to see a show. Spend a little extra and get the upgraded seats. Before and after the show you can hit the bars at the Statler. Can't wait to go back.

I love the Kessler Theatre!!! So fun to be able to hear great live music in such an intimate setting. If the setup for the show includes the 4 top tables, I would highly recommend getting a table. You will get to be super close to the stage. Sound is great and so are the cocktails.

Formerly a small neighborhood movie theater, the Kessler has been transformed into an intimate concert venue. While it has its own bar within the theater, as a part of the Bishop Arts District, there are numerous small eating and drinking establishments within a short walk of the theater.

I absolutely love The Kessler. This is my favorite local music venue. It's walking distance to my home, they bring in great musicians and other acts. It's an intimate environment with a cool, retro vibe. I always run into my local friends and am greeted with smiles! My only gripe is the last show I went to was standing room only and I wasn't prepared. (I wore heels) Just make sure you know the floor plan ahead of time.

Great venue, but went there for a show and they didn't have any food offerings. We were at a show there awhile back and they offered some great street tacos. Now that have no food offerings. Hopefully they will look at adding food back.
