There's no place like The Keg for steak and this location is the best of the bunch. The staff are friendly, the food always comes out fast, warm and accurate.

The best Keg restaurant in the Hamilton area. Service and food is always excellent here.

Went there for my graduation dinner with my parents. They were understaffed for a Wednesday, but everyone handled it like champs. Our server, Caroline, was hilarious and an absolute delight; was very caring and attentive despite her having many tables besides us. The bar manager, Karen, also helped out during this whole evening and even took the time to have a great, genuine conversation with us. It felt like we were dining with family. It was an excellent 5 star experience.

Food was excellent. Steak cooked to perfection. Staff was nice and prompt. They made an error on one of our dishes, the manager brought it out and formally apologized and it was not put on our bill. Didn't feel rushed either. Busy place.

Wife and I went out for a date night tonight. And the bar manager came and told us that our meals were late and gave us desserts for free. Great customer service

Where else can you get a steak done to perfection every time.

I have to be honest that I cringed when my son said he had chosen the Keg for his birthday dinner. I had a horrible experience about 6 years ago in Kitchener, involving a huge hair seared into a jumbo shrimp... I vowed never to go back!
But on April 11th I brought 4 teenaged boys along with my son to celebrate his birthday.
We had a reservation and we were running late, I called and they were happy to still accommodate us. When we got there we were seated in a booth that was pretty tight seating for 5 big boys and I. I asked hostess for a different spot and again she was happy to accommodate.
All the boys were full and loved their choices.
Server (Ryan) was attentive and explained choices of cuts and stages of the cook perfectly in a non judgy way to the young men.
Birthday boy got an excellent dessert on the house.
Excellent service, excellent meal and excellent value for our special celebration.

By far the best Keg around. The service, the food, the restaurant, the servers themselves - all exceptional. We travel from Hamilton to Waterdown for The Keg, the Hamilton location is good, but the Waterdown location is best. You will not be disappointed.
Also, Jay, he's an excellent server. I hope you get his services for your next visit!

Family went to celebrate a birthday on Sept 11th 2020. Food was excellent, staff there ensured that every thing was sanitzed and their protocols were being followed. Great experience

Wow wow wow. This is where I would eat every day if I was a rich man. Not only is the food delicious but the servers are very helpful and great at their jobs. I even scored a free piece of cake because it was our first time going. Great customer service.

Had an OK experience at this Keg location. We were seated right away And the server came almost immediately. Everything was OK for ordering. Food was OK, the salmon plate was actually better and more impressive than the striploin steak I had. Near the end of our meal, the server seemingly forgot about us. Our waters werent refilled and it took a while for the plates to be cleared. Also, I wasn't impressed by the dated interior. It felt like more of a nineties restaurant, with a Stark contrast to the modern exterior. Overall, there are many better places to eat in Hamilton for the price and I won't be returning to the Keg any time soon.

Great place. As far as the food, it's the same as any other Keg but this one has one of the nicer atmospheres and doesn't feel as cramped. The server was very friendly and answered all questions we had.

Went to the newly renovated Upper James location. Seems bigger, looks cleaner, modern. Food is always amazing!

Delicious. Enjoyed sitting on the patio for a quieter meal, amd very pretty. All the steaks melt in your mouth. Get the twice baked potato; it's the best side dish.

It would be a perfect 5 star, but it was the end of the night and I had to settle for rib steak instead of prime rib... Cause they ran out.

The Keg never disappoints. The food is always delicious and if something is wrong they will make it right without hesitation.

Great service and food in a beautiful historic building. Only issue my wife and I had was that it can be fairly noisy on a busy night making it difficult to carry dinner conversation

It was very busy and we had to wait even though we had a reservation but they were very apologetic, it was graduation time so I get it.
The meal more then made up for the wait food was excellent.

I hadn't been to the Keg in years, so it had built up in my mind as a pretty good steak place. On today's visit everything was good, but nothing stood out as being exceptional in any way. We cook a pretty decent steak with accompanying vegetables at home, and our steak, sides, and definitely Caesar salad, all have more flavour, more 'pop', than what we were served tonight. (Exception: the Keg's horseradish was definitely better than ours.)

To be specific... The mushrooms and beans were mundane, the garlic mashed potatoes didn't taste of garlic, the Caesar salad could be described as a creamy dressing with lemon juice.

The people we great, everybody was friendly and helpful, and the food was well cooked. The environment was visually interesting, although the room temperature was distracting cold.

If you are disappointed or bored with your own home cooked steak, then try the Keg. But if you want an exceptional steak meal, go for one of the high end places instead.

Spent Valentine's Day here. Had an amazing meal and wonderful service, the restaurant is beautiful and felt very comfortable and well taken care of

Have to say we usually LOVE this location of the Keg but was not 100% satisfied. We had a reservation for 8pm and did not get our food til around 9.30. Service was very slow. Server got in correct items. Bought someone a ceasar salad when they ordered a ceasar drink...(whilst taking drink orders) we didnt finish up our eveing tilgone 11pm being last people.to.leave which is due to slow service. Server didn't evening ask me how I wanted my steak cooked. After she took everyone's orders I asked her if she could.make sure mine was medium. She was very nice ahd pleasant but definitely not on the ball that nite which is unusual for Kegs usual service standards.

This place is a bit pricey but good for birthdays and special occasions

We're in Waterdown Ontario and found the keg, we found that we needed a reservation but we were turned away, as we stood there looking for another place to eat, another couple showed up and no masks they were let in only because the girl knew the other girl as a friend. They also had no reservations.
We were dressed in shorts and t-shirts, the other couple in dress pants and skirt.

There's no dress code for the keg.

This place is doubtless one of the finest place in the area. Anytime I go there I am awfully glad. They maintain their very high level service and the topmost level of dishes they give. You always win with this restaurant. Very recommended.

It's a Keg... This one tends to be a bit more quiet than others in the area which I liked. Great staff and service as with most locations and food is very consistent.

I want to love it, but the food is so inconsistent and the problems we've had have not been dealt with properly. Two times now we have had extremely overcooked twice baked potatoes. I have these every time from many locations and they are never as tough as they are in Waterdown, just like a baseball glove. The Waterdown location also has forgotten my asparagus on a daily special that was supposed to come with it. On a separate occasion we were given the wrong appetizer. Steak preparation temperatures are about as accurate as throwing a dart at a dart board. Medium steaks being cooked RARE (not medium rare, rare) and a medium rare steak cooked well done. Despite all these problems we have only spoken to the manager once and no satisfactory resolution was offered. Do yourself a favor and check out one of the other many great restaurants in Waterdown.

Typical Keg experience, am never disappointed. Went for a Saturday night out with the wife, arrived to an estimated 45 minute wait for a table. We ordered drinks and sat down at the bar, five minutes later our table was ready. She got the salmon, I got the baseball top sirloin. Food arrived in a timely manner, cooked to order, plated as described. Server was friendly and attentive but not over bearing. Would definitely recommend.

This location accepts reservations, normally we would have one but this was a spur of the moment outing.

Can you go wrong with food at the Keg? Tastiest steak every time. Sometimes over long waiting for a table, but I guess that tells alot

The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Our server was attentive and friendly. She even brought us over some free ice cream cake at the end of our meal which was a very nice surprise. Definitely going to come back again soon

My experience with Keg restaurants has been inconsistent at best. But I was very pleased with my latest visit. The layout was spacious and we didn't feel claustrophobic. The food was prepared to our preferences and served in a timely fashion. The staff were cheerful, efficient and very professional.
I would highly recommend this location.
