My first time at the Hollywood Bowl was when I saw Madame Butterfly during college. For an outdoor venue, the acoustics are good and the lighting effects are cool. Then I saw the Tchaikovsky Spectacular, with fireworks, which was AWESOME.
The best is seeing John Williams in action during the Summer. I've seen him the past 5 years with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His music is legendary, from Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jaws, Schindler's List, Memoirs of a Geisha, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, just to name a few.
Any seat has a great view. I'd recommend the super seats or if you can splurge a bit, a terrace box or garden box (I've sat in all sections except a garden box).

It is almost impossible to live in Los Angeles, have a visiting friend or be a tourist and not go at least once to the Hollywood Bowl. You can sit in the less expensive seats (the bleachers) or splurge and buy a box (worth it one time). If you are going to take someone from out of town go when they set off the fireworks. It is the most gorgeous show anywhere! Find someone you like to hear and sit back and get ready for adventure you won't find anywhere else.

I am a mega-music fan who grew up on the East Coast - just outside of NYC, to be exact. So, I've visited some of the most iconic venues in the world (Radio City, MSG). I hadn't visited LA in about 15 years, and surprisingly didn't get to the iconic Hollywood Bowl back then. My husband & I moved to Phoenix a few months ago, and when we saw Beck would be performing at the Hollywood Bowl, we got tickets. We drove out and stayed very close to the bowl - so close, in fact, that we were able to walk there and back. While I'm still partial to my NYC venues only because I know them like the back of my hand, visiting the Hollywood Bowl was a truly amazing experience! It was everything we envisioned and then some! The bowl simply has this aura and mystique about it. You have to see it to believe it! We'll be back!

Is this more of a place to be seen than to see? Nice layout bad parking but they make the best of it. It shouldn't take multiple traffic cops and barriers to manage the mass of people maneuvering around the bowl. Figure it out.

Always a great experience going to the Hollywood Bowl. I make it a summer must to at least visit once during the summer. The security procedure to get Into the bowl has been increased so what once took 5 minutes to get into the venue now takes 30-45 minutes. (Word of advise for quicker entry is to go up along the side towards the back of the stage rather than the main entrance). The Muppets take the Bowl has by far been the best show I've seen at Bowl.

Finding your way through security is a bit of a mission; there are extra gates around the side with much shorter lines; signage and crowd direction could be better; there re also restrictions on what kind of containers you can bring in (no glass), so do your research before bringing your picnic (which is a really cool thing you are allowed to do).

Once I got through the security, there was a mixup with my seat and they were super great about finding me another (better) one. Would definitely come back!

Love this venue!!! Only wish they had a better/bigger selection of food but, you can always bring outside food (some restrictions apply). Everything there is a little costly as well. Parking is expensive and is CASH ONLY! It's a lot easier to do the park and ride bus.

I hadn't been to the Hollywood Bowl in over 30 years, so it was refreshing to go for the Playboy Jazz Festival. This place has changed for the better as it's a modern facility for music! I sat in the lower box seats, which are tight for four adults, but one finds a way to make it work. I would go back to see an artist that I like.

Great place to see a concert. Got to get there early because parking sucks. Bring alot of cash also because parking is expensive and very limited. You don't want to park in the street,it will be towed away or get hit. Haven't done it yet,but the Metro Redline Hollywood and Highland station is not that far away. Got to walk uphill and the walk back down is not that bad.

Bring your own food, drinks, etc. It s a beautiful venue, outdoor, surrounded by mountains and close by all kinds of restaurants, bars, sights. You can visibly see the Hollywood sign and at night, the music plus the stars is truly a beautiful and memorable experience.

This place is so much fun. It's the best bar to take a group to if not everyone is drinking, since there is great entertainment/ a lot going on. It can get pricey with the cover, drinks and you'll probably have to wait in a line to get in but all that being said it's worth it for a fun and unique night out.

Good shows!

Good shows!
Parking sucks though, so I usually either park at Hollywood & Highland and walk up the hill, or do Park & Ride from another location.

I love the Hollywood Bowl! Absolutely, positively love it. Sure the parking can be...very difficult you might say, but any place where you can picnic under the stars and listen to some delicous music is just candy for the soul and mind. Romantic with a love and downright fun and relaxing with friends.

*Note: Don't be afraid to make brand new friends (or loves) and share you leftover desserts and wine. Your neighbors won't mind and goodness knows that sharing is caring! :)

What an experience! Definitely take advantage of the Park & Ride shuttle services that are offered. It's the best $7 you'll ever spend...or you'll get stuck in crazy LA traffic before and after the show...trust me.

Don't worry too much about their BYOB rules...they have a great system in place case you bring alcohol on a day where it's a "private" event. Tables are set up just before you go in...they empty your glass bottles/cans into plastic containers for safety reasons. (broken glass--ouch!). Make sure you pack your snacks, sandwiches, etc. and get there early.

It's such a fun atmosphere and the Hollywood sign is just across from you....so you can get in a photo shoot before the show starts! (Trust me, you're going to want to do this!) :)

It was our first time in Southern California...but definitely not the last...and I guarantee we'll be checking out a concert at the Bowl on every visit! :) (This time around it was Lionel Richie's All the Hits tour, with Mariah Carey opening). SUCH FUN!

Saw Pentatonix here for the 4th of July celebration. It was fabulous. We take the bus service from the San Fernando Valley, which is easy and convenient. The Bowl experience is mot to be missed. And Pentatonix were amazing!

I love the Hollywood Bowl. We can bring our own food, the seating is not bad from every angle (mostly) and they offer a package plan. Most of the shows they do are really good! Check one out!!!

About The Hollywood Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl is a legendary outdoor amphitheater located in the heart of Los Angeles, California. Since its inception in 1922, it has been the go-to destination for live music enthusiasts from all over Southern California and beyond. The venue has played host to some of the biggest names in music history, including Billie Holiday, The Beatles, and Yo-Yo Ma.

One of the most iconic features of the Hollywood Bowl is its concentric-arched band shell. This unique design allows for unparalleled acoustics and an immersive concert experience that simply cannot be replicated anywhere else. Whether you're sitting up close or way up high in one of the venue's many terraced seating sections, you'll feel like you're right in the middle of all the action.

But it's not just about great sound at The Hollywood Bowl - there's also plenty to see and do before and after each show. The venue boasts a wide variety of food and drink options, from classic hot dogs and popcorn to gourmet cuisine from some of LA's top chefs. And if you're looking for something extra special, consider booking one of their VIP packages which include access to exclusive lounges with private bars and premium seating options.

Of course, none of this would be possible without an incredible lineup of performers year after year. From classical orchestras to rock bands to pop superstars, there truly is something for everyone at The Hollywood Bowl. And with multiple shows per week during peak season (typically May through September), there are plenty of opportunities to catch your favorite artists live on stage.

So whether you're a lifelong fan or just looking for a fun night out with friends or family, be sure to check out what's happening at The Hollywood Bowl this season - tickets are available now!
