Those who want to see history in Istanbul should first discover this place. You can easily walk on foot .. No need to bring your car ..Low attention to cliff ..
I really like to visit this place.
Always crowded because of the large influx of tourists.
But this, no matter how, does not prevent to admire all the sights.
Here, the Aya-Sophia Mosque, the Archeology Museum, the Topkapi Palace, the Church of St. Irene (Aya Irini) and the underground reservoir in which the jellyfish head is located, and the main Istanbul Mosque Sultan Ahmed Jami, Gulkhane Park, on the square there are ancient obelisks, various cafes, restaurants, trays with roasted chestnuts, corn and sweets, benches in which a variety of souvenirs for every taste and purse, as well as you can walk through the streets of the old city and walk on foot to the embankment. And during the holy month of Ramadan in within 30 The fair is open on the square.
Beautiful tourist spot. Gardens, monuments, the Sultan Ahmet's tomb, the blue mosque, historical obelisks and collonade.
It's a historical place with a mixed history about Islam and Christianity since hadjia sophia is just in front of Sultanahmet Camii.
You will be amazed.
A very beautiful square with a historical area with traces still lingering in the area containing the mosque. The church of Aya Sophia and the museum or house of one of the sultans, visit the mosque at specific times.
The Hippodrome in Byzantine era, the Horse Square in Ottoman times and Sultanahmet Square in Republican times used to be the site of gatherings, festivals, commerce and rebellions. Today an open air museum but was filled with wooden benches when we visited- probably for a function. The obelisk protrude skyward above the crowds.

It makes history and past time alive. It is beautiful day and night. The surrounding areas are beautiful. The mosque is magnificent and worth seeing. It has many places to visit. Hagia Sophia German fountain Horse square Dikilita Sultanahmet mosque is a great pleasure to walk around in the fives.
Place is for the remembernce of glorious periods of ottoman emperors
A field that all tourists come to for its beauty and for the antiquities, for example
The mystical verse
Also the largest carpet of tulip flowers is held in April
Istanbul is a beautiful square where you can reach many places to visit at the same time.
a beautiful square in the crowd as if you are the only one that makes you feel like ... a place full of peace.
The historical place of Istanbul. It is an important attraction for tourists.
Great atmosphere is this square. Paved pathways with 'squares' of grass to sit and relax. Great touristy atmosphere and a lot of restaurants along the square. Very clean and well maintained.
Tourist attraction in which every tourist should appear, who arrived in Istanbul. From here to any place a stone's throw away. Cafes are more expensive than in the city.
Sultan Ahmed Square
Excellent location and nice for families
It is a tourist attraction
In this square, you can see the many historical monuments of the German fountain and the fountain in Sultanahmet Sultanahmet mosque Ayasofya mosque mausoleum mosque basilica cistern a little further down to the center More
The wind blows and the Sultanahmet takes you away. One of the city's pale-living quarters. Historical backgrounds are things that everyone knows and will read and mend, but be in your mind if you just want to STAY and STAY in the city.
Vibrant..always crowded and that's the best thing. Sevoriyum!
A historical site that is always crowded. Especially filled with people during the month of fasting. A good resting place where you can view the various mosques and minarettes surrounding you.
Every square inch of this special area is steeped in history. A wonderful time-travel. Different civilizations. Various Faiths and culture come together on this melting pot. In Istanbul if you just spend all your days here and skip the rest, you will be justified in doing so.
Sultanahmet is one of the rare places that can keep its essence in Istanbul. In addition to visiting the historical artifacts here, I recommend you to get lost in the back streets and see the historical houses, the mosques and churches in between.
nice place
It has shops selling chestnuts, maize, restaurant and coffee shop
Nearby is the Hagia Sophia Museum and Hagia Sophia
Historical place and lot of information to remember
A must-go place to smell the history of Islamic art in the museum canvas in a way that is very dirty
Sultan Ahmed Square is very famous linking the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia Mosque in Sultanahmet area
Defenatly you will feel great once you see such Egyptian historical landmark in this area.. the place is open to the public and free of charge. You can pass by and see at any time.. it's worthy to read the article about it at the nearby stand provided by the municipality of Istanbul.
The ambiance is great during Ramadan, at least once iftar or sahur should be done.
One of the historical mosques to be seen by navigating ...
It's a big area in the middle of old city. All history is around of this place. And imagine, once roman warriors were turning around of this place. There are some pillars which were brought from Egypt.
Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, basilica cistern are around of this center
A very quiet area with little noise and music, I visited it on the third day of Ramadan where there are breakfast areas and a free breakfast area.
Close to the garden of Gulhane and Ayia Sophia, the covered market, a very enjoyable day
O Allah, glorify Islam and Muslims and unite their words and keep us from temptation and our response to you a beautiful response
Nice place to visit. Used to be a hippodrome before and has to importants obelisks, one come from Egypt another building in Istanbul. You can chill out and enjoy the beautiful place
A very beautiful square with its historical texture
They are under construction, you can barely see much
Crowded but beautiful.
It is like a game field
BEAUTIFUL PLACES BUT THE TOURISTS SELLING POSSIBLE PLACES SELLING IN CHILDREN'S TOURISTS DECREASED IN THE SYRIANS THE RISE INCREASES THERE ARE THERE
Remembering the Ben-Hur movie, we can put ourselves in a situation of what this circuit meant in its time. With its bleachers on the sides and the quadrigas running. You can see the original soil at the base of the obelisk below. Formerly there were more than 40 sculptures. Currently there are 4 that have nothing to do. These are, The Obelisk of Theodosius, that of Constantine, the column of the cross snakes and a source linked to the Hitler period.
Conservation of the architectural and archaeological samples that is a taste.
It should be imitated to Turkey.
There is a mosque known as the Blue Mosque, in front of the mosque there is a flower garden with benches to enjoy. One of the tourist destinations that must be visited when you're in Istanbul
The center of Istanbul is gorgeous, beautiful and a must see.
Nice place leads to many major sites like Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia. Many stores in wslking distance including Grand Bazar food and shops all around.
The heart of Istanbul ... Hippodrome, then Horse square. Traces of the Latin invasion are still visible, this is the living history
