After a long journey through winding roads, you will know you have arrived at the Hess Collection when your mobile has happily lost its GPS to reach the outside world. Don't fret, Hess makes a beautiful selection of wines in addition to sharing an eclectic museum.

At Hess you will find a few distinct wines such as the Albarino, Gruner Veltliner, and my favorite the Gewurtraminer to pair with seafood dishes. The cabernet was also tasty - perfect paired with a thick steak frites and nothing else.

A terrific place to stop and enjoy wine tasting. Staff is knowledgeable and entertaining. Learned a little of the area's history. No one pushed us on club membership. We did buy two bottles of wine. Just received them this week.

Just left and had to write a review. We were on a small bus tour and had Jan as our South African host and tour guide. He was incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable. The wines were also fantastic. The location is stunning.

Fantastic wine, friendly staff, and gorgeous tasting room. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the Hess Tasting room during a vacation to Napa Valley. I even joined their wine club and purchased several bottles while I was there. Five starts all the way for Hess!

The best winery I visited in Napa Valley.

The best winery I visited in Napa Valley.
They are kind and really expert about their wines and the winery region.
Considering the expensive cost of wine in the US, their wines are worth the price and the tasting is absolutely cheap in comparison to other winery s offer and their wine are the only one I really appreciate.
Take time to visit the art collection.

Now for me. I dont like all the art stuff. But in order to have a chocolate pairing they need to educate. I loved the wine cellar and the wine was good. Up the hill a bit. But a nice property.

First time up here this weekend and it was stunning. There is no doubt the wines are in the superior category for the area. Along with the wonderful location and ambience, the service was phenomenal and the art gallery was museum quality. We left with two bottles and I will certainly be heading back here again!

This is by far my favorite winery tucked away from the main drag of Napa. It s a bit of drive to locate this winery but it s WORTH your time. Not only that, they do have great art museum as well with modern art collections. I ve been to many wineries and tasting room. The wine collections here and the customer service is well deserved 5stars. Ask for wine block selection, it s their limited selection. It s well crafted, full of aroma and taste exquisites.

I can't speak more highly of the amazing experience we had! My friends and I had a private tour through the winery itself AND the art museum above. That in itself was impressive, but to have two of my favorite things at once was divine! We also had a wine pairing. I initially thought it would be more of a small bites and charcuterie. But NOPE! It was a multiple course meal, including some of the best steak I've ever had in my life. It was set in the perfect area and we had the whole room to ourselves and a beautiful view of the vineyard. The tour guide was so knowledgeable about the wine, the history, the art, and happy to meet any of our requests. Overall, I would say with the meal, tour and museum it was about half a day. They offer other tours but I'm not sure if they are private or not. Ours was just myself and my friends which was worth every penny!

A little stuffy for my taste, they take themselves seriously, hence one star removed. However, the wine is excellent. Try the Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon vertical tasting if they still offer it.
