Trendy cafe with mix local and tourist. Great location for people watching but also busy. Worth the visit with the great menu. Highly recommended for brunches or a mid day meal. Healthy selection of food to more full hearty breakfast. $$ but you pay what you get, meant to be in a good way.

So as the name says Market Bar..what's a market bar. Well the concept is interesting. Half of the place is set up as a european bakery with house made sauces, soups, quiche etc for you to prepare at home. The other half is a small high-end micro restaurant with a mini oyster bar.

I bought a jar of the house made pompadoro sauce to take home which was quite flavorful. My dining partner and myself decided to stay and have a few bites. We requested to sit outside as it was a nice day. Upon being seated we were offered a bottle of water in the the european style bottle with the ceramic stopper. We also were presented with squares of Foucaccia that they make in house. One was traditional tomato sauce & the other style was a herbed one with olive drizzled over the top.

I was really wanting cheese but they didn't have a cheese plate, however our server (Mike) did suggest and inquire with the kitchen if they would be able to serve us the normal lunch Charturturie plate. We also sampled their oysters which were super fresh, they have Fanny bay, kummunoto, and one other I can't remember. For desert we spit a lemon tart and the lemon curd on it was so delish. Seriously I was eating it with a spoon because the filling was amazing!!!!. For a drink I decided to try the house special Blood orange Martini which was light and refreshing.

I plan on going back for a full dinner...and updating my review further. Go check them out they are amazing!!!

I highly recommend this place.

The food and drinks here are delicious (we come here during breakfast), and the location is a great place to get work done or have a casual meet up with friends. The key to visiting Cafe Borrone is going as early as you can. They open at 6 am every day, and it doesn't get crowded until around 8. If you're not an early bird, it may not be a good idea to come here in the winter. Most of their seating is outdoors, and there are long lines year round.

Food across the board is great, and coffee drinks really good, although the food is pricey. The line is often too long and the seating hard to come by but still one of our favorite places to go for Saturday family breakfast, or when we want to spend a while over lunch or hang out and drink latte/beer/whatever and read a book. Love that it is next door to Keppler's book store!

Very busy but line moves fast. Coffee - ok, but nobody told us that we have to pick it up separately at the bar - so it was almost cold when we finally got it.
Bagel with salmon -17$, really??
No sides, nothing, just bagel served with ingredients(CC, tomatoes, cucumbers, capers, onions)witch you have to get together by yourself.

Very cute space, kinda tricky since it's seat yourself but there's lots of tables. There was a lot of wait staff to help since it was so busy, which helped with efficiency. We had the French toast, Belgian waffle, breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito and everyone enjoyed their food quite a bit. The fresh squeezed orange juice was very fresh as well.

Love Cafe Borrone! I finally made it here and see what the long lines are about. Amazing al fresco brunch that was well worth the wait. Fresh, organic food that is prepared perfectly. I had an egg scramble with spinach, red onions and feta with a side of chicken apple sausage and fresh squeezed OJ. One of the best ways to start the day that I can remember. I also sampled from a few friends' plates and they were equally as good. French toast, banana waffles, washed down with a Cafe Borrone. Will be coming back soon and spend some time cruising around Kepler's while waiting!

A little pricey, but very nice atmosphere - especially on a sunny day sitting out on their patio.

Gotta try the Turkey Works sandwich, it's like an entire Thanksgiving Dinner jammed into a sandwich. Amazing. It's huge, so bring a big appetite, or someone to share it with!

I have been meeting friends here for what seems like a million years. I have never had a bad experience or meal at Borrone's. The service is always pleasant and I never feel rushed to vacate my table. My friends and I have worked out a ton of issues sitting and enjoying coffee with breakfast or lunch.

Very popular brunch spot in Menlo. Lots of options, which is great. Everything looks delicious. The line moves quickly but they do take a while to bring out your food. I had the special mushroom scramble, which was yummy, but the portion size was on the lighter end.

Cafe Borrone has been one of our favorite places to eat for many years. All of their food is good, especially breakfast, and their coffee drinks are excellent. It can be crowded on the weekend but it's never a long wait. Visit Kepler's bookstore afterward!

Great location with easy underground parking and a large outdoor seating area. Busy at the usual popular times. Nice varied menu but nothing Vegan. Our order was "lost" but quickly recovered and served. Yes, the frozen chocolate coffee drink was great.

It's the best breakfast place in Menlo Park and maybe even in the Peninsula. Efficient service even during rush hour, delicious food and of course, coffee. Highly recommend the waffles and the cappuccinos. Underground parking and plenty of parking near the Caltrain station.

Pretty good, I will say that it was a bit pricey for what you get and the line is pretty long. But don't worry it goes pretty quick we were in and out with food in our stomachs in about an hour and that was as Sunday at 12 during their peak serving time!

I enjoyed the Belgian waffle, and their salmon bagle wasn't anything unique that would justify their above average pricing.

I was okay with just going once I may go again if I'm in the area

This place is spendy, but the food is amazing. Coffee is great, and sandwiches are some of the best I've had anywhere. Also big enough for two people or two meals easily. This place does get extremely crowded. Long lines on weekends, and expect to wait 20-30 for food to be ready. Seating can also be difficult to come by, although they do have a large outside seating area.

Always comfortable and reliable for lunch. Offers an excellent array of standards and specials under $20. Good coffee. Indoor-outdoor seating, open and relaxed atmosphere. Stop by and browse Kepler's bookstore before or after lunch, cross Camino and cruise Santa Cruz Avenue.

This is the classic European cafe that every city dreams to have. We ordered some French toast, mushroom scramble special, spicy sausage and they all tasted good. You must try their frosted mocha which was delicious. Over the it did leave a dent in the wallet but I will simply come back for the experience again!!!
