Review for the B&B service... We arrived fairly late but the landlord had already spotted us and check-in at the bar was quick enough to allow us to put the kids to bed and sneak in a couple of drinks. Very comfortable rooms and one of the best sleeps we had over a 2-week road-trip. Breakfast in the morning was a hearty full english - enjoyed by all. The pub is in a nice, quiet, rural location about 25 minutes from the Portsmouth ferry terminals - much more relaxing and much better value than staying in Portsmouth before/after a ferry.

Came here today with my twin sister (am using my husband's log in details) and had a wonderful time. The food - veggie roast, cheese omelette and chips, apple and cinnamon crumble, and a trio of ice creams - was delicious, and the staff were absolutely brilliant - catering for a very fussy vegetarian and a gluten-free vegetarian with a professional and good-natured manner. We were both very impressed!! Well done to every one involved - it was a pleasure to eat here and we will be back (sorry!!).

Had a great meal with friends and many kids, great burgers and amazing hotpuddings, nice village pub!

The garden has been beautifully designed and sitting outside in the sun was fab. Even though the pub was exceptionally busy the wait for food was not unreasonable and definitely worth the wait.

Great food and great service as always, and their Otter Ale is the best in the south!

Great atmosphere, very friendly and excellent bar staff.

Went for a Sunday roast. The lamb was cooked really well and plenty of veg and gravey. Definitely enough food for the price.

This was the first time we have been to the Half Moon so over all. Loads of parking front and back. Staff friendly, and helpful.(asked for a sours that was not on the menu and got it. Kid friendly "yes" park and loads of room to run around in the beer garden. Food was ok, the hambuger patti was not freshly made. Still have time to try the rest of the food on menu

Had my mum's 80th birthday,food excellent, lovely room for 35 of us leading into garden. Staff really excellent, kind helpful, nothing to much trouble. Thankyou

Stayed here for a wedding over the weekend. The team were very helpful in getting our room ready earlier than usual due to the earlier ceremony. The rooms were small but charming. We were late down for breakfast (due to the great wedding) but they still found the time to whip us up a great breakfast!

Food was excellent But sadly the place was so cold a couple of us kept our coats on all evening

Clean and large, food is fairly standard of reasonable quality.

The food has always been delicious and the service is very good and the staff are so friendly. Many happy memories as my Son and Daughter-in-Law got married there. Would highly recommend it.

Spent a lovely evening with my family for my daughter's 16th birthday. All the staff made us feel very welcome and Colin ensured we had everything we needed during our evening. Colin made the atmosphere amazing when it was time for the birthday cake and made sure there were plenty of opportunities for photos. Thank you to everyone for making my daughter's birthday meal an evening she will not forget. I will highly recommend the pub

Food was good, but they seemed short staffed so waited to be sat down and then a very long time for the food, and then the bill was wrong!

We stopped at The Half Moon early evening when it was almost empty, so cannot really comment on the atmosphere. However the pie of the day (steak and ale) that we both ordered was very good, and served on hot plates which is always a plus. My mother and some of her brothers and sisters also visited The Half Moon recently and apparently they all enjoyed the food too.

Had a great Christmas Day lunch staff very attentive great value for money very good portions booked again for next year. Thanks to all the staff

I got married in The Half Moon on 27th October 2017. The staff could not do enough to help. A beautiful venue. We had an amazing time and had to worry about nothing. The food was amazing. I would like to say Thank you to everyone there.

We have just come back from spending a night at The Half Moon and would like to say what a lovely little pub. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfy and breakfast was very good as well. We also ate there in the evening and can definitely recommend the slow cooked pork . We hope to be able to visit again some time later in the year

Fabulous food excellent service our favourite restaurant! Mothers day was perfect in every way.

Had a Gourmet burger that was like a piece of rubber, chunky fries tasted of dirty oil, onion rings were chewy like rubber bands, YUK! Never again!

Very friendly bar staff and food servers. The food was amazing! Had the battered fish and chips and it was massive! My friend enjoyed his ploughmans and treacle and walnut tart. Definitely will go back again. Lovely clean pub. Cant fault one thing! Many thanks

Excellent service average to good food at reasonable price

Food was good but the starter was chilled so the butter was hard. The main was good. The decor was a bit shabby. Emergency door had a cracked seats a bit schoolish. The service was good and staff were friendly and welcoming.

Dropped in for a bite to eat during our honeymoon camping break. My husband Ordered the gourmet chicken burger... Was far to much cheese. Like an inch thick totally over powering I ordered a baguette southern style chicken... Honestly it was the worst thing I ever tasted... I don't know what it identifys as. Discisting. Tasted chewy nothing like chicken. Might as well of been a rat baguette. It was Squashed flat with breadcrumbs. over cooked couldn't bite into it. Nasty I cook better meals in doors. Not worth the effort. Husband said it looked like crab in breadcrumbs. Needless to say I left my chicken baguette.oh and they use cheap brought probably(farmfoods)baquettes they baked in the oven. And still managed to undercook it. Like squishy dough It's the worst meal I've ever eaten. The onion rings I could forgive. They are hit and miss everywhere. Garlic bread was good. Chips was average Don't waste your money. Very underwhelming. Looked lovely and posh and great garden areas and flower displays beautiful. But..... You need to sort out your food.

Great place , Staff warm and friendly always make you welcome. Just to drink / Eat or party You will find the staff Very accommodating to your needs , Lovely garden too . Beer excellent especially the Otter. Good larger too , Always people eating and a busy venue For Weddings .

Lovely beer garden in the sun! Left my wallet and they still had it hours later when I want back panicking, always a good sign!

Popped in here on the way back home as we were getting hungry and were looking for a nice place to eat. Ordered chicken and leek pie and scampi and chips both of which were scrummy, well cooked, well presented and good portions. Staff were cheery and helpful. Would definitely go back again if around that area and would highly recommend it to others.... Now saved as a favourite place on my Google maps

Food was standard pub grub. Nice garden, pretty.good for the kids. No real table service though, but staff friendly. If they had a bigger playground or little paddling area they'd make a killing in Petersfield!

My do was a success my guests loved the food, staff extremely helpful. Everyone had as good time.

I went here for a christmas part with my Wifes work and was very disappointed. Firstly there selection of ales seems to have reduced to the same level as a common pub with only two ales and none of which from any local brewers, This is disspointing as they used to have a lot more on the barrell. When it come to the food the food seemed very cheap and not very tasty at all, the starters of Pate didn't have any bread or toast and the Turkey was very chewy and gristly. Over all i was very disappointed with the food and drink here giving it 2 stars as the service was the only thing that was ok, but ok at best.

Easily located just outside if petersfield with private parking. Not the best laid out pub, but makes up for it with it's spacious beer garden with children's play area. Also a dog friendly pub.

Stopped for a bite to eat as we were passing and we are glad we did. We had the gourmet burger and it was lovely, and good value. The staff were very attentive. There was a good selection of ales. The reason I have rated it as 4 star and not 5 is because our table was extremely sticky.

I was here for a friend s wedding. A beautiful pub and venue for a delightful wedding. Food good and the waiters/waitress couldn't do enough for you
