Nice museum which had paintings of the Victorian era. If you re interested in Victorian culture you should Visit. it s a great visit even if you re just nearby (which I did). They have lots of paintings, there s different levels from underground to 2nd floor. The shop is also nice, bought key rings. Entrance is free, just a bag check. Usually isn t packed and the outside is also beautiful. There s benches and it s close to many stations as it s in central.

Interesting collection of art, and neat to see the old roman excavation below. Very moving World War exhibit on display while I was there.

Free admission, air conditioned and clean bathrooms also a plus.

It is a fabulous art gallery showcasing some great Victorian masterpieces. There are some amazing paintings about london as well.
One of the most interesting this about the gallery is that it contains the Roman amphitheatre (an ancient monument) in its basement. A must see

Nice place to visit if you have some time off. The guided tours and the guide are very good. The Paintings are nice, the guide explains things very thoroughly, the Roman Amphitheatre in the basement is definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely loved it. Had a free tour which are run at particular times through the day. The guide was really knowledgeable and provided some useful insights into some of the paintings. Visited the amphitheatre underground. Didn't have time to see everything, but will be back!

A small, cozy gallery in the heart of the City of London. There are few visitors, but they are. Very friendly and unobtrusive staff. Pictures, basically. not very famous British artists of the mid 19th - first half of the 20th century. Solid realists, battle and genre plots. Temporary exhibitions are held. On the -1 floor, a chic exposition of Romanesque heritage. In a word, if you are a fan of Ilya Repin (and I am one of them) - you are here.

Came here on 8th Nov to visit the Architecture of London exhibition. Closed for an event. Returned the next day. Closed for the Lord Mayor's Show. Absolutely no indication on their website (in fact, they were advertising a family day on 9th Nov - presumably your children get turned away for free).

An interesting gallery ... There are not many exhibits here but it is worth coming here for them. In the middle, everything is very cozy, nice and you can really be alone with your thoughts looking at the pictures.
By the way, I was very impressed by the amphitheater in the basement where history and modernity are combined!

Amazing gallery. There is quite a big security as you enter but for a good reason. Good quality in paitings. They were brilliant, so light and deep pigmet in the paint. I like it quite a lot. I did not expected that the gallery will be so big. At the beginning I thought will be maximum a room or two butnit turned out that there were also a ground floor and a lower ground floor. Wow. It looked impressive with that Arena in there and all the impressibe story I did hear from the curator.

Lovely paintings, especially the Pre-Raphaelites. Beautiful building, too. The welcoming lady at the reception desk is wonderful, and the toilets have to be seen to be believed. And all free!

Very interesting, has some great paintings, and even offers a free tour. The best part however is most certainly the Roman Ampitheatre underneath the building, it is extremely interesting and well run.

The City's (capital 'C'!) own art gallery next to it's historic Guildhall. Well presented collection of paintings mostly with some sort of City connection. Regular series of special exhibitions- currently on Victorian perceptions and depictions of children. If you're visiting the Gallery don't miss the Roman amphitheatre beneath! Entry is free apart from special exhibitions
