Really lovely distillery. The staff are brilliant. Knowledgeable and kind. My dad was driving so couldn't have a dram...so she found a little test bottle for him to try later. So sweet! We didn't take the tour - but the tasting room, shop and grounds are all class. I'm ashamed I wasn't aware of the brand... they have such a rich history and the base product is lovely. Very light... smooth... an easy whisky for a beginner. It has edges of marzipan, vanilla and pear. My favourite though was the port barrel. smokier, deeper and not sweet .... rich.

Liked the tour. But in comparison to other tour, this one was short and very basic. No pictures are allowed inside.
Girls that gave the tour were fun and entertaining, however it seems like they just reside from a script. There are some spontaneous jokes, that made it a bit better.

Lovely whiskey distillery in a beautiful old building. , Nice tour with of course a glass of single malt whiskey afterwards. Collaborates with Deep, a nature organization, to minimize the impact on the environment.

In 1843, William Matheson founded the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. Inspired by the Distillery s peaceful surroundings on the banks of the Dornoch Firth, he brought forth a pioneering single malt whisky wonderfully complex and exceptionally smooth. Ever since, we have pursued our craft with uncompromising dedication endlessly creative in our quest for perfection. To this day, we honour the Distillery s provenance in our award-winning single malt. Its pure, smooth spirit is distilled in Scotland s tallest stills, matured in the finest casks and perfected by The Men of Tain. And, in the hands of these select craftsmen, the guardians of our spirit, Glenmorangie will surely delight malt whisky lovers for generations to come.

Standard tour with a glass of whiskey per person. Nothing is offered for the children. Unfortunately no pictures are allowed during the tour. Otherwise a clean and well-kept ambience with nice and competent staff. Was OK

Glenmorangie was our 6th destillery and for us definitely one of the best. Very kind and helpful staff. Basically to the owner of LVMH the hole destillery looks very stylful and smart with her orange design.

Whilst walking from Land's End to John o' Groats I popped my head into Glenmorangie distillery when I passed it. I'd been living in a tent for at least two months and had quite a lot of facial hair from not shaving - to say the least I looked slightly homeless and didn't smell too good. Anyway, I got talking to a young lady that worked there and she very kindly offered me a free tour of the distillery. Being a keen fan of whisky, especially fine single malts, I took her up on the offer. What a fantastic gesture! Even though I got some funny looks from the other people on the tour, it was a great day and an excellent tour of a wonderful little distillery. It gave me a great morale boost! Whilst there I also discovered (that like many others) that all along I've been pronouncing Glenmorangie incorrectly - it's GLEN-mor-AN-jee didn't you know!

We didn't have time to enjoy the tour, but the shops are enriched and we can sample.

We had an absolutely fantastic time! Due to Covid they are not doing tours of the distillery instead they are offering a Smelling experience. Initially not sure but liked the idea of hearing a bit about the history and process. Delighted that we decided to go for it. Ronnie was our expert and he was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and entertaining and answered ALL our questions. We went because my husband quite enjoys a wee single malt whisky, me I don't like the stuff but we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have a better understanding of the process and enjoyed the sniffing. We got wee tasters away with us which is a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and we are keen to revisit when the tours open up again...Ronnie has set the bar high but I'm sure Glenmorangie will meet it. Thank you very much for a very enjoyable experience

The Signed tour was conducted by a young man called Aiden who was absolutely brilliant. His enthusiasm and knowledge was fantastic and made the tour very enjoyable. It as great to meet a young man who clearly loves what he is doing and a very valuable asset to the Company The whiskey tasting was of course the icing on the cake.

A friendly and professional welcome without being warm. An interesting visit without going into too much technicality. Disappointed by the tasting that, for a large house of this type, could be more generous (a glass of their flagship product, 10 years) and for others, we can taste in a plastic cup two other products, if we make the request only. I do not think a 2.5cl glass will ruin such a big distillery, let alone the big group behind it.
In comparison, a small distillery like Edradour does not hesitate to offer a tasting glass and a mug (for the purchase of a coffee). In merchandising, every detail counts ...

Opening hours online say Sunday 10-4pm. Drove a long way to find the place deserted. Thanks very much for that. Will buy my Christmas presents from another distillery then. Update your page please! It's so stuffed full with sales adverts it's hard to find any information on it at all and once you finally found it it's incorrect on top.

Excellent facilities and detailed overview of the distilling process. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered every question. We learned a lot about the history as well as seeing how single malt is aged and managed. The tasting room was a bit small, and I wish more time was given to learning how to analyze the flavors.

I loved. The truth is that I went with the idea that I am not very whiskey, but I had not tried the real Scotch. It turns out that the most sold here in Spain (Chivas Regal, Johny Walker, etc.) are what they call "blended", that is, they are a mixture of grains and maturation in different types of barrels. The true Scotch whiskey is what they call "single malt" which is mainly germinated barley and then dried at high temperatures. Some whiskeys even smoke the malt to give it another flavor point. After the distillation, the whiskey is aged mainly in oak barrels bought in the USA previously used for bourbon or in Spain those used for sherry. The visit to the Glenmorangie distillery was the best of all we visited and his whiskey, even the 10 year old which is the basic, is a delight that goes down smooth and delicious It is very worth the visit.

A really nice distillery. We took the tour and had everything explained to us in detail. It was really fun, we were most impressed by the warehouse with all the barrels.
At the end of the tour there was a small whiskey tasting, unfortunately we were only offered one whiskey (the 10 year old). Since we have had it at home for some time, it would of course have been nice to be able to test another one ;-)
Nevertheless, all in all a clear recommendation.

Great Distillery with an interesting history. The whiskey, specially the 12 year old ones with the different cask finishes, tastes really good. If you like different cask finishes the Glenmorangie is the place to explore. My favorites are the Nectar d Or (2 years in a Sauternes cask) and the Quinta Rubin (2 years in a Port cask). The 10 years Glenmorangie is a mild solid whiskey, but nothing special, which is good for taking in the flavors of the casks in the 2 year finishes. The tour is very nice, you ll get an insight in the processes of whiskey making. The storage halls for the barrels are impressive as are the stills (the tallest in Scotland). At the end of the tour you can do a little whiskey tasting and buy a bottle of your favorite in the shop.

Bit disappointed to turn up after a good drive at the distillery (which is still running and producing Scotch) to find that not only the tour, but also the shop, is closed due to COVID19 in late August '20. Even work shy teachers are back at work in Scotland, and they like a holiday! We will buy our single malt from elsewhere now. Grow a pair like the rest of us!

I had the worst experience at this distillery shop the staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming and rude. My first ever visit and last, wouldn't recommend any of my business partners into the shop.

Looks lovely on the outside but we arrived too late to enter - we arrived just after closure of 4pm and felt 4pm closure in summer was very early and there were a number of disappointed customers we passed on way out who missed out.

We came here for my dad and while I had high respect for Glenmorangie for their quality previously, it has increased so much after this visit. The basic tour was great, though I have seen other distilleries. However, the staff was fantastic, especially Aiden. This is my dad's favorite and they were just so great sharing information and we got to taste a few. I even tasted a couple I kind of liked. The work too that Gelnmorangie is doing for the local restoration of the firth makes me so impressed and they will have my support and recommendation after this visit.

Since the distillery is very easy to reach and also among the larger and better known, it is usually very busy. We arrived shortly before 12 and all tours were booked for the day. But at the bar in the shop you can also test the range against payment. The staff was very friendly and not stingy as regards the tap. I paid 3 samples and got 5

The distillery is very interesting and the whiskey is without question one of the best. look here behind the scenes worthwhile. The guide itself was okay, a little bored but presents can vary from person to person leading. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

The signet tour was really mediocre. The tour guide was NOT knowledgeable and couldn't answer any questions. The whole thing is a marketing exercise. The guide was also insanely rigid.

Beyond the issues with the tour guide... There were only three whiskies at the tasting, and they make you listen to the most cringe-inducing tasting instructions while you try the signet whisky.

I would recommend saving your money and skipping this one entirely. It's just a giant marketing center that treats you like you owe them something as opposed to the other way around.

We had a great tour of the distillery on Saturday. Everything was explained and shown to us very well. The distillery makes great whiskey's and it's worth visiting. At the tasting we could try a 1989 Grand Vintage. It was just exclusive. Thank you for everything and continued success.

Fantastic Distillery. Tours are very professional (though maybe sometimes overly so, but that's natural in busier places with big groups) and the facilities are obviously beautiful. I will say it's amazingly clean; bathrooms, floors, glass everything is just pristine. I know how difficult that can be, so it's a real testament to the staff there. Whisky is great too, although I lean more to ardbeg.

Here, north of Inverness, in Tain, is one of my favorite distilleries, Glenmorangie.
Since 1700, the "water of life" has been burned and, above all, drunk illegally and now legally.
The distillery is famous for its Wood Finish bottlings, matured in ex-bourbon barrels for 10 years and then aged for 2 years in Port-Sherry or Madeira casks and wine barrels.
But there are always very good limited special bottlings.

You should sample the 200-year-old whiskey for 40 pounds of sip

Probably my favourite Distillery, and Distillery Tour of the many there are to visit, probably explaining why I've done it three times now. On a tasting point, Glenmorangie is my favorite whisky, but on a visitor level, I find this Distillery tour the most interesting and informative too!

Simply superb! Rachel does a fantastic tour and is exceptionally helpful. Would recommend. We only did the basic tour but it was excellent and there is the option for a few more options at the end!

A little exercise in diction ?? Do not miss the stills whose passes are known to be the longest in Scotland. Hence the choice of a giraffe as emblem of the distillery. Interesting but basic tour for whiskey making technique. The guide who looked after us was probably not fond of this drink.

Very nice tour with an amazing guide. This was my favorite distillery of all that I went to. I loved that they let us go inside the place where they store the barrels and smell the whisky that was on the stills! It was amazing and loved everything about it!

Imagine being the best tourist in the world, checking opening hours and all. Imagine driving all the way there just to find out they're closed, without so much as a notice, in their website, on the visitor center door, or elsewhere.

Great leadership. I had no idea how whiskey is distilled and where the taste comes from.
Very interesting. Only if the nose says yes, tastes one of the whiskey.
Guided tour only after registration and only on this date!

There is a charge for tasting.
I was thinking of buying it at a direct store, but it was not worth the price because it was higher than the selling price at the supermarket, so it is recommended for those who want to buy special whiskey that can only be obtained here, but for those who do not I wonder how.

Glenmorangie Distillery is the fifth distillery we visited in Scotland and I would rank our visit, second best one after Glenfiddich.
Is it because we had special attention from our lovely guide Catherine because we were the only guests of the visit? Maybe... I can imagine that the visit would have been different during the peak season.
However the quality of the exhibition about the company, the different parts of the distillery we visited, the tasting room and the shop made the visit truly enjoyable.
I loved the fact that we were authorized to visit a warehouse and smelled the different whiskies from the casks!
