Popped into Glenmorangie DIstillery shop and was greeted by Aidan who was tremendous! A very polite and friendly young man who made the visit very enjoyable. Great young ambassador for the Glenmorangie brand name and the Scottish tourism industry as a whole! Well done Aiden.... 1st class!

Kind of a pilgrimage to visit something that I love very much. I called in advance for a place in the tour at 3pm. The production was off, so the tour was free for me. I took a train from Inverness to Tain and then walked 30 min to the distillery. The walk was a bit awkward along the busy A9. So I recommend people drive. The tour lasted 45 min with a very nice guide explaining all aspects of whiskey making. We could see the room where the barley is made into wash, followed by their legendary giraffe stills room. A bright side of no production is that you are allowed to take pictures. The tour ended with a whiskey tasting. The gift shop is a bit expensive as compared to their prices in the US, but I bought a few bottles :-)
